How to Complete Requests from a Friend: Lavinia in Code Vein 2

Quick answer: Talk to Lavinia at MagMell in the present timeline (2277) after completing the main quest "Mastering Control of Time." She will ask you to master Blood Codes through combat. Each time you max out a Blood Code's proficiency, return to her, and she will extract a Booster tied to that code.

How the quest works

Requests from a Friend: Lavinia is a repeatable quest that unlocks automatically once you reach MagMell in the present timeline. Unlike most side quests, this one has no fixed end point—Lavinia will continue rewarding you for every Blood Code you master throughout the rest of your playthrough.

The core mechanic is straightforward: equip a Blood Code you haven't yet mastered, engage in combat and defeat enemies, and watch the proficiency meter fill. Stronger enemies speed up proficiency gain. Once the meter reaches 100 percent, the Blood Code is considered mastered. At that point, return to Lavinia at the MagMell Institute, and she will extract a unique Booster from that code.

Starting the quest

Step 1: Progress the main story until you complete "Mastering Control of Time." This quest teaches you how to use the Bond mechanic to travel between timelines.

Step 2: Return to the present timeline (2277) and travel to MagMell Institute.

Step 3: Speak to Lavinia Voda. Select "Catch up" to initiate the quest. She will explain that she can extract Boosters from Blood Codes you have mastered and ask you to return to her after maxing out proficiency on any code.

Mastering Blood Codes efficiently

Blood Code proficiency only increases when you have that code equipped during combat. Simply carrying it in your inventory does not count. Switch to the code you want to master before engaging enemies, then fight normally. Tougher enemies and bosses grant proficiency faster than weaker foes, so progressing through dungeons or fighting overleveled enemies accelerates the process.

You can master codes in either timeline—the present (2277) or the past (2177/2187). There is no timeline restriction for this particular quest. Once proficiency hits 100 percent, a notification will confirm the code is mastered.

Booster rewards by Blood Code

Lavinia offers a different Booster for each Blood Code you master. The rewards span stat increases, weapon mastery bonuses, and combat mechanics. Here are some of the key ones:

Blood Code Booster Reward
Superbia Bloodline: Noah 1 Fortitude Booster (Fortitude +2)
Superbia Bloodline: Frantz Max Ammo Up
Guardian's Heart Solitary Battle (Attack Power Up When LP Depleted)
Gula Bloodline: Josee 1 Strength Booster (Strength +2)
Patientia Bloodline: Iris 1 Vitality Booster (Vitality +2)
Luxuria Bloodline: Holly 1 Bayonet Mastery (Bayonet Attack Up)
Superbia Bloodline: Lou 2 Ichor Maximizer – Tria (Max Ichor Up)

Over 30 Blood Codes offer unique Boosters, so there is significant long-term value in completing this quest repeatedly. Boosters are passive effects that enhance your character's stats or combat abilities and can be equipped in dedicated Booster slots.

Verification and completion

When you return to Lavinia after mastering a Blood Code, she will recognize the achievement and offer you the corresponding Booster. Accept it, and the Booster will be added to your inventory. You can then equip it in your Booster menu. The quest objective will update to reflect the next Blood Code you can master, but the quest itself never closes—it remains active as long as you have unmasterd codes available.

If you have already mastered a code before starting the quest, you can still return to Lavinia and claim its Booster retroactively. She will reward you for any codes you have completed, even if you mastered them before speaking to her.
