Noah's side quest in Code Vein 2 sends you hunting for ancient engraved weapons scattered across three major regions. After saving Noah during the Timeline Shift Decision quest, he'll set up shop as MagMell's weapons researcher and ask for your help collecting these artifacts. Each weapon you deliver earns you a powerful piece of gear for your own arsenal.
Quick answer: Speak to Noah at MagMell in 2277: The Present and select "Catch Up" to start the quest, then retrieve Engraved Weapons I, II, and III from the Sunken City, Corroded Scar, and Undead Forest, respectively. Return each weapon to Noah for your rewards.
Unlock requirements for Noah's request
Before Noah offers his quest, you must complete two main story objectives. The Timeline Shift Decision: Noah quest determines whether Noah survives to the present day. You also need to finish the Vanquishing the Heroes quest to trigger his availability at MagMell.
Once both prerequisites are met, find Noah near the elevator exit in MagMell. Choose the "Catch Up" dialogue option to begin Requests from a Friend: Noah. All three weapon locations become available simultaneously, though some areas may require additional story progress to access.
Engraved Weapon I location (Sunken City)
Step 1: Travel to the southernmost section of the Sunken City. You can approach from either the West Coast Pier Mistle or the Western Gatehouse Ruins Mistle, both of which provide nearby respawn points.
Step 2: Locate the Silver Bullet Plus One building in this area. The building's back section faces an open sea with crates near the cliff edge.
Step 3: Enter through the partially destroyed wall on the building's rear side. Clear out any enemies blocking your path, then climb the stairs to the second floor.
Step 4: Find the golden glowing orb on the stairs just before a chest. Interact with it to collect Engraved Weapon I.
Return to Noah at MagMell and select "Catch Up" again. Handing over Engraved Weapon I rewards you with the Old Engraved Greatsword.
Engraved Weapon II location (Corroded Scar)
This area becomes accessible after helping Lyle and the Chorus take Pioneer Castle during the Slaying the Hero Lyle quest.
Step 1: Fast travel to Forward Base Two in the Corroded Scar region. Head west along the road toward Miners' Rest Stop Mistle.
Step 2: Continue north from the Miners' Rest Stop until you reach a ruined building with a white symbol on its locked door.
Step 3: Circle around to the left side of the building. Behind a broken steel fence, you'll spot the golden orb containing Engraved Weapon II in the rubble.
Deliver this weapon to Noah to receive the Old Engraved Hammer.
Engraved Weapon III location (Undead Forest)
The Undead Forest section containing this weapon unlocks after completing the first part of Holly's questline. You'll need to reach the Plagued Village, find Holly's Cocoon, and travel to the past to learn her fate. Upon returning to the present, the upper Undead Forest area opens up.
Step 1: Travel to the Snowy Mountain Amusement Park Mistle in the Undead Forest during 2277: The Present.
Step 2: Exit the dungeon area and follow the road south. When the road begins to curve, look for a set of stairs.
Step 3: Climb the stairs to find a Jadwiga's Minion near a structure with a white symbol on its door.
Step 4: On the left side of this building, locate a ladder. Climb to the roof where Engraved Weapon III sits waiting.
Bring this final weapon to Noah for the Old Engraved Bayonet.
Noah's Request 2 (Insula Carcere)
After completing all three initial weapon deliveries, Noah has one more task. This second request only becomes available after you've visited Insula Carcere at least once during the Slaying the Hero Zenon main quest.
Step 1: Speak with Noah at MagMell and agree to accompany him to Insula Carcere.
Step 2: With Noah as your partner, travel to the Upper Cell Block Mistle in Insula Carcere.
Step 3: Go through the door behind you, then take the outside path on the right until you reach the Prison Smithy.
Step 4: Interact with the bond at the Prison Smithy to automatically complete this final portion of Noah's questline.
Timeline requirements and quest completion
All of Noah's requests must be completed during 2277: The Present. If you accept a request in this time period, you cannot turn it in during the 2187/2197: Free Exploration Era. Make sure you're in the correct timeline before attempting to deliver weapons or start new objectives.
You'll know each step is complete when Noah accepts the weapon and the corresponding reward appears in your inventory. The quest log will update to reflect your progress, and Noah's dialogue options will change to offer the next objective once you've met the requirements.
Completing Requests from a Friend: Noah provides three solid weapons covering different playstyles. The Old Engraved Greatsword offers heavy damage for strength builds, the Old Engraved Hammer delivers crushing blows, and the Old Engraved Bayonet gives ranged-focused players a reliable option. These rewards make the relatively straightforward fetch quest worth the exploration time.
