Route Network Crisis is a short, two-part Side Quest chain in Wuthering Waves set in Lahai-Roi. Each part is tied to the region’s road reconstruction projects and revolves around protecting cargo haulers from Outcast attacks. Both quests end with Supply Chest rewards and lead toward the hidden WavesLine Insider mission.
Route Network Crisis overview and prerequisites
Both Route Network Crisis quests take place in Lahai-Roi and only become available after specific reconstruction milestones. The chain works like this:
- Part I appears after rebuilding Orbit Valley Pass - South.
- Part II appears after rebuilding Starleap Ascent and Howling Tunnel, then advancing in-game time by a couple of days.
- Each quest involves clearing Outcast enemies blocking major road segments and talking to a hauler driver.
- Completing each part grants a Supply Chest.
- Finishing Part II and moving time forward again helps unlock the WavesLine Insider Side Quest.
There are no combat puzzles or branching choices in this chain. Once the correct reconstruction work is done, the quests are straightforward combat encounters with a short dialogue and a WavesLine message to wrap up.

Route Network Crisis Part I: How to unlock
Step 1: Finish rebuilding Orbit Valley Pass - South in Lahai-Roi’s reconstruction project. This is mandatory; the quest does not appear before the work is complete.

Step 2: After Orbit Valley Pass - South is rebuilt, travel to the northern Resonance Beacon in Orbit Valley Pass.
Step 3: From this Beacon, head east along the road. As you approach the route, a quest marker for Route Network Crisis Part I will appear, and the mission will begin.

Route Network Crisis Part I: walkthrough
Step 1: Move along the road in Orbit Valley Pass until you see an Outcast group attacking a cargo vehicle. Approach to trigger the encounter.
Step 2: Defeat all Outcasts around the vehicle. There are no special mechanics here; clear the mobs as you normally would.

Step 3: After the fight, speak to the hauler’s driver standing near the vehicle. He will thank you and then leave with the hauler.
Step 4: Once the driver departs, you will receive a WavesLine message from an unknown sender. Open your WavesLine and check the new message. Reading it immediately completes Route Network Crisis Part I.
Finishing Part I rewards you with a Supply Chest.

Route Network Crisis Part II: How to unlock
Step 1: Progress Lahai-Roi’s reconstruction and rebuild both of the following road segments:
- Starleap Ascent in Etching Plains
- Howling Tunnel in Rebirth Uplands
Step 2: After both Starleap Ascent and Howling Tunnel are rebuilt, advance the in-game time by two or three days. You can do this through the in-game time adjustment function.

Step 3: After the time skip, check WavesLine. You will receive a message from the Lahai-Roi Route Network Office, which triggers Route Network Crisis Part II.
Route Network Crisis Part II: walkthrough
Step 1: Fast travel to the Lightfall Tunnel Resonance Beacon in the Golden Spiral area.

Step 2: From the Beacon, head west. Follow the navigation toward the Spacetrek-Bjartr Bridge while watching for enemy markers.
Step 3: You will find another group of Outcasts blocking the road near the tunnel. Engage them and defeat all enemy mobs in the area.

Step 4: Once the enemies are cleared, speak to the nearby hauler’s driver again. This conversation plays out similarly to Part I, with the driver reacting to the ambush being resolved.
Step 5: After the dialogue, you will receive another WavesLine message from the unknown sender. Opening this message ends Route Network Crisis Part II.

Completing Part II grants another Supply Chest.
How Route Network Crisis connects to WavesLine Insider
Route Network Crisis feeds directly into the WavesLine Insider Side Quest, which focuses on the same mysterious contact who has been texting you.
To reach that point, you need to:
- Start the Lahai-Roi Reconstruction Project.
- Rebuild Orbit Valley Pass - South.
- Complete Route Network Crisis Part I.
- Rebuild Starleap Ascent and Howling Tunnel.
- Complete Route Network Crisis Part II.
- Read the WavesLine messages from the unknown sender whenever they arrive.
After all of that is done, advance the in-game time by two more days. You will receive a new WavesLine message that includes an image of an Outcast camp and a request to investigate. That message starts WavesLine Insider, where you clear another Outcast camp in Golden Spiral, open an Advanced Supply Chest worth 20 Astrites, and finally learn that the unknown contact is Macknay, the hauler driver. Completing WavesLine Insider also unlocks the On the Frontline trophy and some additional level-up materials.
Route Network Crisis is intentionally compact, but it anchors a small storyline about Lahai-Roi’s logistics routes, repeated Outcast ambushes, and Macknay’s efforts to keep goods moving. Clearing both parts as soon as they unlock keeps the reconstruction routes safe and sets up the more rewarding WavesLine Insider questline that follows.
