Illnesses and sprains in Where Winds Meet slowly reduce your stats and can even worsen over time, so knowing every way to heal yourself saves a lot of frustration and coins. Recovery can happen in three main ways: natural self-healing, treatment at the Evercare Clinic, and help from player healers.
How to self heal Where Winds Meet illnesses
Some conditions in Where Winds Meet are marked as “Self-Heal Possible” in the Constitution screen. These ailments do not strictly require a doctor and can recover over time or through specific in-game interactions.
Self-healing mainly works in two ways:
| Self-heal type. | How it works. | When to rely on it. |
|---|---|---|
| Passive recovery over time. | Milder illnesses and sprains can gradually clear without treatment while you continue playing. | When the debuff is small and you are not heading into a tough fight. |
| Condition-specific actions. | Certain mental or environmental ailments can be cleared by doing particular actions, such as interacting with water. | When you know the trigger and can perform it safely. |
Check if an illness can self heal
Your Constitution menu is the main place to see whether an ailment can take care of itself or needs treatment.
Step 1: Open the character menu and go to the development/build section where your current build is shown.
Step 2: Select the Details option under your current build to open the more detailed stat view.
Step 3: Switch to the Constitution tab to see all current illnesses, which body part they affect (Mind, Organs, Meridians, Muscles), and any “Self-Heal Possible” note.
The Constitution tab also shows the exact effect, such as a basic sprain lowering your Muscles recovery and reducing Endurance regeneration by a percentage.
Self-heal over time (illnesses that recover naturally)
Several lighter conditions can wear off without direct intervention. These are the illnesses that often show “Self-Heal Possible” and apply relatively small debuffs.
Step 1: Confirm in the Constitution tab that the ailment is mild and shows “Self-Heal Possible” rather than indicating a severe condition.
Step 2: Avoid risky activities that would stress the affected body part further. For example, with a sprain that impacts Muscles, try to minimize long sprints or repeated falls.
Step 3: Continue normal gameplay such as exploring, questing, and fighting standard enemies. Over time, the debuff can drop off on its own, restoring the affected stat.
Natural recovery is useful when you are far from Qinghe or Heaven’s Pier and the ailment is not crippling. However, some injuries can get worse, so keep an eye on the Constitution tab to make sure the prognosis is not deteriorating.
Self-heal via specific actions (example: mental conditions)
Not all self-healing is purely passive. Some special conditions clear when you interact with the world in particular ways. One example is a mental condition that can be relieved by contact with water.
Step 1: If you notice a mental-type ailment, check the Constitution tab to see if it is labelled as treatable without a doctor and does not list a major physical injury.
Step 2: Move your character into shallow water or start swimming in a safe area; use calm locations without nearby enemies so you are not interrupted.
Step 3: Stay in the water briefly, then reopen the Constitution tab to confirm whether the mental condition has been removed.
This pattern shows how some ailments are tied to thematic actions rather than medicine. As you play more, you may encounter additional illnesses with their own environmental or behavior-based cures.
Heal illnesses at Evercare Clinic (fastest, most reliable)
Evercare Clinic provides the most direct and dependable way to clear illnesses and injuries. It is particularly important for more serious conditions that do not self heal or that are worsening over time.
Evercare Clinic location
| Area. | Sub-region / landmark. | Position notes. |
|---|---|---|
| Qinghe Region. | Evercare Clinic. | Midwestern Qinghe, north of Moonveil Mountain and south of Blissful Retreat. |
Some descriptions also place Evercare Clinic in the hometown area of Heaven’s Pier in the Still Shore sub-area, on a hill set back from the sea. In practice, you will reach Evercare Clinic naturally as you progress through early story content.
Unlock quick access via Boundary Stone
Step 1: When you first reach Evercare Clinic, look for the nearby Boundary Stone waypoint.
Step 2: Interact with the Boundary Stone to unlock it for fast travel.
Step 3: Later, open the map and fast travel back to this Boundary Stone whenever you need urgent treatment.
This short setup means you can jump to the clinic from anywhere instead of riding or running long distances while injured.
Use Yao Yaoyao to cure illnesses and sprains
Yao Yaoyao is the key NPC you talk to for healing at Evercare Clinic. She can handle everything from minor fevers to serious sprains and bone injuries.
Step 1: Speak with Yao Yaoyao at Evercare Clinic and choose the dialogue option that indicates you feel unwell.
Step 2: When prompted, select which specific illness or injury you want treated. This is important if you are suffering from multiple conditions affecting different parts of your body.
Step 3: Confirm the treatment and pay the fee. Expect to pay around 10,000 coins for a full cure of your current ailment.
Step 4: After the interaction, check your Constitution tab again to verify that the debuff has been completely removed and your stats are back to normal.
Yao Yaoyao also upgrades the number and strength of your healing potions, making her one of the most important early NPCs to visit regularly.
Get healing from other players (Doctor / Healer Career)
Where Winds Meet includes a dedicated healing career that other players can pursue. These player healers can cure ailments that are not covered by simple self-healing, and in some cases may be an alternative to paying Evercare Clinic.
How player healing works
Step 1: Switch to online mode, since player healing requires being connected to other players rather than playing purely solo.
Step 2: Use the career or healer search features to look for players who have taken the Doctor or Healer Career and are available to help.
Step 3: Send a healing request to a suitable healer. They must accept your request before the treatment can begin.
Step 4: When the healer starts their treatment, they will play a card-based mini-game where they select prescription cards and try to “defeat” your illness before the health gauge in the mini-game runs out. If the healer succeeds, your ailment is removed.
A key limitation is that healers cannot heal their own injuries or illnesses; their tools only work on others. For their own minor conditions, they must rely on Evercare Clinic or other self-healing options such as hot springs.
Where healer-related self-healing fits in
| Role. | Self-heal options. | Notes. |
|---|---|---|
| Regular player. | Natural self-heal, specific actions, Evercare Clinic, hot springs, player healers. | Cannot run the doctor mini-game on themselves but can request help. |
| Healer / Doctor career. | Same as regular players for their own body (clinic, hot springs, etc.). | Healing skills only target other players or NPCs. |
Practice healing using Treat the Goose quest
The Treat the Goose exploration quest is an early, low-risk way to practice the healing mini-game and understand how illnesses are “fought” from the healer’s perspective.
Step 1: Start the Treat the Goose exploration quest, which tasks you with curing a diseased goose. If you fail, the goose becomes hostile and attacks.
Step 2: Before attempting the cure, level up your healing options through Career Notebooks and Healer Giftboxes in the Healer Career menu. This improves your prescription cards and overall success rate.
Step 3: During the mini-game, carefully pick prescription cards to reduce the illness gauge while managing your own health bar within the mini-game. Aim to finish the illness before your health is depleted.
Step 4: If you fail the treatment, wait until the next day and attempt the quest again, using what you learned about card choices and timing.
Although this quest is about curing an animal, the mechanics mirror what happens when a player healer treats another player, making it a good training scenario.
Use hot springs and other NPC locations for minor conditions
Besides Evercare Clinic, some minor conditions can be addressed at other NPC-controlled locations, which are especially useful if you are role-playing a healer or do not want to use player doctors.
| Location. | Use. | Best for. |
|---|---|---|
| Evercare Clinic. | Direct treatment from Yao Yaoyao for illnesses and injuries. | Most reliable healing, including serious ailments. |
| Springwave Pavilion hot springs. | Soaking in hot springs can deal with minor issues for both regular players and healers. | Light conditions you do not want to pay to treat. |
Step 1: When suffering from a mild ailment, travel to a hot spring area such as Springwave Pavilion instead of immediately using the clinic.
Step 2: Enter and remain in the hot spring pool for a short time, allowing any associated self-heal effect to trigger.
Step 3: Check the Constitution tab afterward to see whether the debuff has been reduced or removed. If not, escalate to Evercare Clinic or a player healer.

Why healing illnesses quickly is important
Illnesses do more than add flavor; they directly weaken your character and can develop into worse conditions if ignored.
| Illness source. | Possible ailment. | Gameplay effect. |
|---|---|---|
| Falling from great heights. | Sprain, bone-related problems. | Reduced Endurance recovery and weaker movement or combat stamina. |
| Enemy attacks and traps. | Physical injuries, internal damage. | Lowered combat effectiveness and survivability. |
| Poisonous plants and animals. | Disease or ongoing damage-over-time effects. | Constant health drain and stat penalties. |
Step 1: After any hard landing, poison encounter, or unusual debuff icon, open the Constitution tab right away to identify new illnesses and see their current severity.
Step 2: Decide on a response based on the severity label and effect: rely on self-heal for small debuffs, use hot springs or environmental cures for specific conditions, or go straight to Evercare Clinic or a player healer for large stat cuts or rapidly worsening states.
Step 3: Re-check Constitution after treatment or some in-game time to ensure the ailment is actually gone and has not progressed into a worse state.
Treating illnesses early keeps your build’s real performance close to its listed stats, especially in difficult areas and boss fights where a 5% or greater loss of recovery or damage can make the difference between victory and defeat.
Once you understand how self-heal tags, clinics, and player healers fit together, you can keep your character in fighting shape without wasting time or coins on unnecessary treatments.
