Cant of the Jianghu is a short Wandering Tale side quest in Where Winds Meet that centers on a single handoff: delivering a specific quest item to an NPC at Blissful Retreat. It’s also easy to “bounce off” if you trigger it before you’ve cleared its prerequisite quest, since the completion step depends on an item you can only receive elsewhere.
Cant of the Jianghu unlock requirement (Qinghe)
The quest becomes available after you speak to the Wayfarer at Moonveil Mountain in the Qinghe region. Once you’ve opened the area map, you can use the journal and look under Wandering Tales in the exploration tab to follow the first clue.
Where to start Cant of the Jianghu (Strange Guest location)
Step 1: Go to Blissful Retreat and look for the Strange Guest under a stall by the dock.
Speaking with him starts the quest flow. His dialogue references dragon scales and dragon fire, which is your hint that the next part is item-gated.
Prerequisite: get Dragon Crest Token: Wind first
Step 1: Complete the Wandering Tale, The Missing Funds, before you attempt to finish Cant of the Jianghu.
The key requirement is receiving Dragon Crest Token: Wind from Jia Fu during The Missing Funds. Without this token, the “give” interaction needed to complete Cant of the Jianghu cannot be finished.
How to complete Cant of the Jianghu (deliver the token)
Step 1: Return to the Strange Guest at Blissful Retreat after finishing The Missing Funds.
This is the same NPC you spoke to at the dockside stall.
Step 2: Choose the option to give the Dragon Crest Token: Wind to the Strange Guest.
Handing over the token completes the quest.
