You may run into the 'Something went wrong on our end. Please try again' error when trying to download or update apps from the Google Play Store. This is quite a common error and can occur due to various reasons, such as corrupted Play Store data, incorrect time and date settings on the device, or even issues related to your Google account. There are different solutions you can try to get rid of the error.
Check the Google Play server status
Before you try fixing the problem causing the error, you should check the status of the Google Play server. You can do so using third-party services, like Downdetector, or with the Google dashboard directly. If the server is experiencing issues, you may run into various problems that can cause the 'Something went wrong' error. In such instances, there is nothing you can do and you will have to wait until the problem with the server gets fixed. On the other hand, if the server is running properly, you can try out the various fixes listed here.

Fix 1: Clear the cache and data for the Play Store
- Open the Settings app and tap on 'Apps'.
- Tap on 'See all apps' on the next page.

- When the list of apps appears, tap on Google Play Store.
- Then tap on 'Storage and cache'.

- Finally, on the 'Storage' page, tap on 'Clear storage' and then on 'Clear cache' to clear the storage and cache. Now, try using the Play Store and check whether the error is gone.

Fix 2: Force stop and relaunch the Play Store
Another possible solution to the 'Something went wrong' error is to force close the Play Store and then reopen it.
- Open the Apps page in the Settings app and tap on Google Play Store as previously explained.
- Then tap on 'Force close' and confirm your decision if required in the pop-up. Wait for a few seconds before relaunching the Play Store.

Fix 3: Grant all the necessary permissions to the Play Store
Check and make sure the Play Store has all the necessary permissions it requires to function.
- Open the Apps page in the Settings app and tap on Google Play Store.
- Then tap on 'Permissions'.

- Make sure the Play Store has access to all the permissions it requires. To grant permission for a certain item, such as 'Nearby devices', tap on it.
- Then tap on 'Allow' on the next page. Repeat these steps for Google Play Services as well and grant all the permissions needed before downloading or updating apps.

Fix 4: Update the Play Store
Updating the Play Store may help fix bugs and remove the problem causing the error.
- To update the Play Store, open it and tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Then tap on 'Settings'.

- Tap on the 'About' section at the bottom to expand it.
- Then tap on 'Update Play Store'.

Fix 5: Disable and re-enable the Play Store
Since the Play Store is an integral part of Android, you won't be able to completely uninstall it on most Android devices. Instead, you will have to disable and then re-enable it.
- Open the Apps page in the Settings app and tap on the Google Play Store.
- Tap on the 'Disable' button and you will see a notification warning you about disabling the system app. Tap on 'OK' to dismiss it. When you disable the Play Store, all updates that you've installed since you set up the device will be removed. The app will revert to its factory settings.

- Wait for a few seconds and then tap the 'Enable' button, which should have replaced the Disable button.
- Finally, you will need to open the Play Store and install any updates to the app that are available.
Fix 6: Remove your Google account
Issues with your Google account can cause problems, resulting in errors like the 'Something went wrong' error. You may be able to fix this by removing your Google account and then signing in.
- Open the Settings app and tap on 'Passwords and accounts'.
- Then tap on the Google account you want to remove.

- Then tap on the 'Remove account' button.
- Once you've removed your Google account, you can go back to the Accounts page and tap on 'Add account'. Now, sign in to your Google account and try downloading or updating apps from the Play Store.

Fix 7: Update the time
Incorrect date and time settings can sometimes interfere with the proper functioning of your Android device, causing various problems. Here is how you can update the time to get rid of them.
- Open the Settings app and tap on 'System'.
- On the System page, tap on 'Date and time'.

- Next, tap on the 'Set time automatically' and 'Set time zone automatically' toggles to disable them.
- Wait for a few seconds, and then tap on the toggles to turn them on again.

Fix 8: Use a secondary Google account
If you're getting the 'Something went wrong' error when downloading an app from the Play Store, you can try using a secondary Google account to install that app.
- Open the Play Store app and tap on your profile picture on the top right.
- In the menu that appears, tap on the dropdown and then on 'Add another account'.

- Follow the steps on your screen and enter the details of your secondary Google account to set it up on the device.
- Once you've set up your secondary Google account, it will be selected by default. You can then try downloading the app you want from the Play Store.
- If you can download the app successfully, open the Apps page in the Settings app and tap on the app.
- Force-stop the app and clear its storage and cache. Then, uninstall the app.

- Now, open the Play Store and select your main Google account by tapping on the profile picture at the top, as you did earlier.
- Try to download the app again using your main account.
Fix 9: Reset app preferences
If the error is occurring due to incorrect app configurations, resetting the app preferences might help sort it out.
- Open the Settings app and tap on 'Apps'.
- On the Apps page, tap on 'See all apps'.

- Next, tap the three dots on the top right.
- Tap on 'Reset app preferences'.

Fix 10: Reset network settings
- Open the Settings app and tap on 'System'.
- Tap on 'Reset options'

- Then tap on 'Reset Wifi, mobile, and Bluetooth'.
- Finally, tap on the 'Reset settings' button. You will need to sign in to your Wifi network again and then try using the Play Store to check if the problem has been fixed.

Fix 11: Contact Google Play Support
You can try contacting Google Play Support if you are unable to get rid of the error on your own.
- Open a web browser on your Android device and sign in to the Google account for which you are getting the 'Something went wrong' error in the Play Store.
- Head to this page and describe your problem in full detail. Wait for a few days, and you should get a reply from Google.
