Valorant, the acclaimed first-person shooter by Riot Games, has become a staple for gamers worldwide. However, some players on Windows 11 are experiencing a TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot error when attempting to launch the game, even if their systems meet the requirements.
This persistent error can be a significant hurdle, but there are several remedies you can try. In this guide, we'll walk you through various methods to fix the Valorant TPM 2.0 error on your Windows 11 computer.
Enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
Even if TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are installed on your system, they might not be enabled. Activating these components is essential for Valorant to function correctly.
Step 1: Open the Settings app by clicking the Start menu and selecting Settings, or press Windows
+I
on your keyboard.
Step 2: In the Settings window, ensure you're on the System tab on the left sidebar.
Step 3: Scroll down on the right side and click on Recovery.
Step 4: Under Recovery options, find Advanced startup and click on Restart now. This action will reboot your PC into the advanced startup menu.
Step 5: After restarting, select Troubleshoot from the list of options.
Step 6: Navigate to Enter BIOS Setup using the arrow keys and press Enter
to access your system's BIOS settings.
Step 7: In the BIOS setup, go to the Security tab. Locate the TPM or Trusted Platform Module setting and enable it by selecting On or Enabled.
Step 8: Next, navigate to the Boot Options tab. Find the Secure Boot option and enable it by setting it to On or choosing Enable.
Step 9: Save your changes and exit the BIOS by pressing F10
or selecting Save changes & exit. Your computer will restart with the new settings.
Step 10: After rebooting, launch Valorant to check if the error persists.
Disable Discord's Automatic Startup
Some users have resolved the TPM 2.0 error by disabling Discord's automatic startup. If Discord launches automatically with Windows, turning off this feature might help.
Step 1: Open Discord by searching for it in the Start menu.
Step 2: Click on the User Settings icon at the bottom-left corner of the Discord window.
Step 3: In the settings menu, scroll down and select Windows Settings from the left sidebar.
Step 4: Toggle off the Open Discord option to prevent it from starting automatically with Windows.
Step 5: To further ensure Discord doesn't launch on startup, disable it in the Task Manager. Press Ctrl
+Shift
+Esc
to open Task Manager.
Step 6: In Task Manager, click on the Startup Apps tab.
Step 7: Locate Discord in the list, select it, and click Disable in the top-right corner to stop it from launching at startup.
Step 8: Restart your computer and try running Valorant to see if the error has been resolved.
Leave the Windows Insider Program
If you're using a Windows Insider preview build, it might be causing compatibility issues with Valorant. Exiting the Windows Insider Program can help you return to a stable build of Windows 11 compatible with the game.
Note: Leaving the Windows Insider Program won't immediately transition you to a stable build. You'll only receive the stable version when it's officially released by Microsoft. Until then, the error might persist.
Step 1: Open the Settings app from the Start menu or by pressing Windows
+I
.
Step 2: Click on Windows Update in the left sidebar.
Step 3: On the right, select Windows Insider Program.
Step 4: Toggle on the option for Unenroll this device when the next version of Windows releases.
Step 5: For users on the Dev Channel, you may need to reinstall or reset Windows 11 to leave the Insider Program immediately.
Reinstalling Windows 11 can be done directly from the Settings app without needing external media.
Reinstall Windows from the Settings App

Step 5: Choose Keep my files to retain your personal data, or Remove everything for a clean install.
Step 6: Select Local reinstall to use files on your device, or Cloud download to get fresh files from Microsoft. The cloud option requires an internet connection and at least 4 GB of data.

Step 7: Review your reset settings. Click Change settings if you need to adjust options, then click Next.
Step 8: If you chose to change settings, make your selections and click Confirm.
