How to Get and Use the Radar in Abyss (Roblox)

The Radar in Abyss helps you locate fish mutations quickly, making quest completion and high-value catches much easier. This tool scans the area around you and displays detailed information about every fish nearby, including mutation types and stats. It even reveals Invisible Mutation fish that are otherwise nearly impossible to spot.

Quick answer: The Radar is located in the starting dome of the Forgotten Deep, to the left of Richard's stall. Purchase it for $450, equip it in your hotbar, and click to scan nearby fish.

Where to Find the Radar in Abyss

The Radar sits on a sack to the left of Richard's stall in the Forgotten Deep dome. Richard is the NPC who shows you the Bestiary. Walk up to the Radar and purchase it for $450.

Consider upgrading your Guns and Tubes before buying the Radar. Early in the game, you won't have the equipment to catch the fish you scan, so the Radar provides limited value. Once you reach the fifth or sixth Kraken quest and start exploring deeper zones, the Radar becomes essential for tracking down specific mutations.

How to Use the Radar

After purchasing the Radar, it automatically appears in your inventory hotbar. Open your Backpack by pressing G, then assign the Radar to any quick-use slot (1–9). Press the corresponding number key to equip the Radar in your hand, then click to scan.

The scan reveals all fish in your immediate area. Each fish displays its species, mutation type, and full stat breakdown. This information helps you prioritize targets for quests or identify high-multiplier mutations that sell for more money.

The Radar detects Invisible Mutation fish, which are otherwise extremely difficult to notice underwater. These fish appear in the scan results just like any other mutation, giving you a clear advantage when hunting rare variants.

What the Radar Shows (and Doesn't Show)

The Radar provides mutation types and stats for every fish in range. It does not indicate rarity tiers such as Legendary or Mythic. You only discover a fish's rarity after catching it. If you need a Legendary or Mythic fish for a badge, the Radar won't help you identify candidates before reeling them in.

Certain mutations carry multipliers that increase their sale value significantly. Use the Radar to scan groups of fish and target the most profitable mutations. This strategy speeds up currency farming, especially in later zones where fish density increases.

When to Buy the Radar

The Radar costs $450, which is a modest investment compared to higher-tier Tubes and Guns. Prioritize oxygen capacity and fishing power first. A Zeppelin Tube or Boat Tube lets you reach deeper zones where the Radar's scanning ability becomes more useful.

Once you start receiving quests that require specific mutations, the Radar saves time by eliminating guesswork. Instead of chasing every fish you see, you scan the area, identify your target, and move directly to it. This efficiency matters more as quest requirements become stricter and oxygen management tightens.
