How to Get Bumper-Rich Fertilizer in Arknights: Endfield

How to Get Bumper-Rich Fertilizer in Arknights: Endfield

Arknights: Endfield's Eco-Farm in Wuling looks straightforward — plant seeds, water them, harvest. But the planting system hides one of the most efficient resource multipliers in the game behind a crafted item called Bumper-Rich. Applied to any active planting plot, it doubles the harvest yield from 3 plants to 6 per plot without changing the growth timer at all.

Quick answer: Pat Burdenbeasts once per day to collect Burdo-Muck, then combine 1 Burdo-Muck + 1 Liquid Xiranite in the Forge of the Sky to craft Bumper-Rich fertilizer. Apply it to a planting plot before the crop matures to double the harvest.

Burdo-Muck vs. Bumper-Rich — Two Different Effects

There are two fertilizer-related items in Wuling, and they do completely different things. Confusing them is common, so it's worth being precise.

ItemEffectYield per PlotGrowth Timer
Burdo-Muck (raw)Speeds up growth by roughly 2 hours3 (unchanged)Reduced
Bumper-Rich (crafted)Doubles harvest yield6Unchanged

Raw Burdo-Muck shaves a couple of hours off the growth cycle, which means you need to be online more frequently to catch the earlier harvest window. Bumper-Rich leaves the timer alone but gives you twice the plants when you finally collect. For most players — especially those farming rare crops like Redjade Ginseng for endgame consumables — the doubled output is far more valuable than a modest time reduction.

Where to Find Burdenbeasts for Burdo-Muck

Burdenbeasts are the large, docile creatures grazing in pastures around Wuling City. You can pat each one once per day, and each pat drops Burdo-Muck. Four separate herds have been confirmed across the region, and visiting all of them nets up to 26–27 Burdo-Muck daily.

Herd LocationApproximate CountNotes
Southeast of Wuling City (pasture)~13First herd most players encounter; the NPC LiFeng's side quest "Burdenbeast Tales" leads here
Northwest of the first herd, against the wall~4–5Near three glow-locked chests and a pair of Auralynes
South of the Wuling Depot~7Bottom-right corner of the depot building complex
Skyking Flats stable2Near the second Sub-PAC; may not appear until the outpost is unlocked

The "Burdenbeast Tales" side quest from the NPC LiFeng is a good starting point. It takes roughly five to ten minutes and introduces the southeast herd. After that, loop through the remaining three locations each day to maximize your Burdo-Muck income.

Building a zipline between your core base and the farming area can cut significant travel time if you plan to make this a daily habit.

Crafting Bumper-Rich at the Forge of the Sky

Step 1: Gather Burdo-Muck from the Burdenbeast herds listed above. You need at least 1 per unit of Bumper-Rich.

Step 2: Head to the Forge of the Sky — not the Reactor, not the refining units. The Forge of the Sky is its own distinct crafting station. If you're already using it for Xiranite production, you'll need to temporarily swap its job or wait for a gap in the queue.

Step 3: Place 1 Burdo-Muck and 1 Liquid Xiranite into the Forge. The very first time you combine these two materials, the game automatically registers the Bumper-Rich recipe as a hidden recipe that becomes visible in your crafting menu. No formal recipe unlock or prerequisite quest is needed.

Each craft takes only about 2 seconds of processing time, so you can batch a full day's worth of Bumper-Rich quickly once you have the materials loaded.

⚠️
An NPC shop near the entrance of Wuling City sells a single bag of Bumper-Rich and a lore page that hints at the crafting combination. The lore page does not teach the recipe — it's just flavor text. The recipe unlocks automatically on your first successful craft.

The Forge of the Sky Bottleneck

The biggest practical obstacle to Bumper-Rich production isn't the recipe — it's machine availability. Wuling only gives you two Forges of the Sky, and those same machines handle Xiranite processing, one of the most important resources in the game. Dedicating a Forge to fertilizer means temporarily pulling it off Xiranite duty.

One workaround that players have found effective is to batch fertilizer production every couple of days. Since daily Burdo-Muck collection caps out around 26–27 units, you can stockpile two days' worth (roughly 50 Burdo-Muck), pull a Forge out of your Xiranite line, run a quick fertilizer batch, and slot it back. The 2-second craft time per unit means even 50 units process almost instantly once the materials are loaded.

Whether the doubled crop yield justifies diverting Forge time depends on your priorities. If you're actively farming consumables like Ginseng Meat Stew or Fortifying Infusion for challenge missions, the extra plant yield can meaningfully accelerate ingredient collection. If your Xiranite demand is already strained, you might hold off until production stabilizes.

Applying Bumper-Rich to Planting Plots

Step 1: Open your Eco-Farm and select an active planting plot that still has time remaining on its growth cycle.

Step 2: Apply Bumper-Rich from your inventory. The fertilizer must be added before the crop finishes growing — once the harvest is ready, it's too late.

Step 3: Wait for the normal growth timer to complete. When you harvest, the plot will yield 6 plants instead of the standard 3.

The growth countdown does not change after applying Bumper-Rich. The benefit is purely in quantity at harvest time. A common mistake is expecting the timer to speed up — that's what raw Burdo-Muck does, not Bumper-Rich.

Folding fertilizer production into your daily gameplay loop takes only a few extra minutes and compounds over time. Travel to each of the four Burdenbeast herd locations and pat every creature. Return to base, load Burdo-Muck and Liquid Xiranite into the Forge of the Sky, and craft your Bumper-Rich batch. Then apply the fertilizer to whichever plots you've planted before logging off.

Prioritize Bumper-Rich on high-value crops. Redjade Ginseng is the standout choice — it's relatively rare, has a useful food buff for endgame content, and benefits the most from doubled yield. Lower-tier crops that you already have in abundance are less worth the Forge time.

Keep in mind that Wuling currently limits the number of planting plots you can place, so you won't be able to use the entire farm area. Focus your fertilizer on the plots you do have rather than trying to expand beyond the cap.
