How to Hide Your Bow and Weapons in Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet lets you walk around Jianghu without a bow, sword, or rope dart constantly clipped to your back. The option is there, but it is buried in a secondary appearance menu that is easy to miss on both PC and console.

Hide your bow and weapons on PC

On PC, weapon visibility lives under the Appearance menu behind a “More Options” button. You can hide the bow, main-hand weapon, off-hand weapon, and other equipped arms individually.

Step Action What you should see
1 Open the main menu (default is Esc). The standard pause / system menu appears with character and system options.
2 Select Appearance. Your character model appears with outfit and cosmetic tabs.
3 Click More Options. An extra panel opens with additional appearance controls.
4 Choose Appearance Visibility. A list of equipped weapon slots with visibility switches becomes available.
5 Turn off visibility for any weapons you want hidden (for example bow, main weapon, secondary weapon). Those weapons disappear from your character’s model while sheathed or idle.
6 Exit the menu. Your character remains in the world with the chosen weapons hidden; they still appear when drawn.

Once visibility is disabled for a slot, that weapon will not show on your body when it is put away. Drawing your bow or sword in combat will still display it normally, and putting it away returns you to the clean, weapon-free look.

Hide your bow and weapons on console (PlayStation)

On console, the same settings are present, but the game hides them behind a hold prompt that many players overlook. The key detail is that you must hold the button for “More Options,” not tap it.

Step PlayStation input Outcome
1. Open Appearance Press the Options/Menu button to open the main menu, then select Appearance. Character customization screen opens.
2. Reveal More Options Look at the bottom of the screen and hold when the prompt for “More Options” is shown. A hidden panel slides up with advanced appearance controls.
3. Open weapon visibility In that panel, move to the entry that controls weapon visibility (Show/Hide Weapons or Appearance Visibility) and confirm. Weapon slots with visibility toggles become available.
4. Disable bow display Toggle the bow and arrow slot to off. Repeat for other weapons you want hidden. Your bow and quiver no longer show on your back when not in use.
5. Save and exit Confirm any appearance changes if prompted, then back out of the menus. The hidden setting persists while you play and across outfit changes.
Note: Some console builds ask for confirmation when leaving the appearance screen. If your bow reappears later, repeat the steps and make sure the changes are saved before you exit.

Quick visibility toggle from the weapon tab (PC)

There is also a faster way to reach weapon visibility from within the Appearance screen on PC when you are focused on the weapon tab.

Context Input Effect
In Appearance, on the weapon tab Press V Triggers the weapon visibility function and toggles weapons on or off.

This shortcut achieves the same end result as going through “More Options → Appearance Visibility,” but it is useful if you are already inspecting weapons and simply want to declutter your character’s look.

How weapon hiding behaves in the world

The weapon visibility settings are cosmetic only. They change how your character looks in social spaces, screenshots, and exploration, but they do not affect combat function or loadout.

  • Hidden weapons still work normally in combat. Drawing the bow, swords, or other weapons will display them during attacks.
  • Once sheathed, weapons that have visibility disabled vanish from your character model again.
  • The setting is persistent. After you hide your bow or other weapons, the game keeps that choice even if you change outfits or travel to new regions, until you turn visibility back on.

This setup is particularly useful if you carry multiple swords and want them visible but dislike how a bow interrupts the silhouette, or if you prefer a civilian look for roleplay and screenshots while retaining full combat capability.

If you ever want your gear back on display, return to the same Appearance Visibility panel or use the weapon visibility shortcut and toggle the relevant slots back on. The change takes effect immediately, and your character goes back to visibly carrying every equipped weapon.
