The trophy is connected to the Granary storyline, but it doesn’t always pop at the moment the boss goes down. There’s an additional sequence that starts by speaking to Zheng E after the fight and ends only after you complete a delivery and read a final letter.
Trigger the follow-up: speak to Zheng E after the Granary boss
Step 1: After finishing the Granary campaign mission and defeating the boss, find Zheng E and talk to him again. This conversation leads into a delivery task that acts like a post-mission wrap-up rather than a clearly tracked quest.
Deliver the letter in Apricot Village (Kaifeng outskirts)
Step 1: Travel to Apricot Village. It’s also the name of a boundary stone (teleport stone) located just outside central Kaifeng, near Qinghe.
Step 2: In Apricot Village, locate the house with a white tree in the yard. Go inside and look for an interaction point where you can place the letter.
Step 3: Use the prompt to place the letter. Some players describe the interaction marker as a small umbrella-like icon that appears at the placement spot.
Return to Zheng E’s waterside meeting area and collect the last letter
Step 1: After placing the letter in Apricot Village, go back to the waterside spot where you previously met Zheng E (described by players as a small “bodega” area where he plays an instrument).
Step 2: Enter the house next to that meeting spot and check the table inside. Zheng E leaves another letter there.
Step 3: Read or interact with the letter on the table to finish the sequence. The trophy should trigger after this final interaction.
If the prompt doesn’t appear
- Make sure you spoke to Zheng E after the Granary boss fight, not only during the mission flow.
- Confirm you’re in the correct Apricot Village house. The identifying detail is the white tree in the yard.
- After placing the letter, don’t wait at Zheng E’s seat. The follow-up letter is inside the nearby house, on a table.
Once the Apricot Village drop-off and the return visit are done, “A Promise Fulfilled” typically resolves immediately, without additional combat or story gates.
