How to unlock the Jinu skin free in Fortnite's K-Pop Demon Hunters Cup

Jinu, a character from the K-Pop Demon Hunters animated film, is now available in Fortnite as part of the game's second wave of collaboration cosmetics. Unlike most limited-time skins, you can obtain Jinu entirely free by placing high in a competitive tournament rather than purchasing it from the Item Shop.

Quick answer: Finish in the top placements of your region during the K-Pop Demon Hunters Cup on February 6, 2026, to claim Jinu and the Sussie back bling at no cost.

Earn Jinu through the K-Pop Demon Hunters Cup

The K-Pop Demon Hunters Cup is a solo Battle Royale tournament where your placement determines your rewards. The event runs on February 6, 2026, with specific start times varying by region. Check the Compete tab in Fortnite to see when the cup begins in your area.

To qualify for Jinu, you must finish within the top placements for your region. Placement thresholds differ by region size: Europe offers 2,350 free slots, North America Central has 900, while smaller regions like Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East each have 250 spots. North America West and Brazil each have 400 qualifying positions.

The tournament uses a solo format, meaning you compete individually rather than in teams. You earn points by surviving as long as possible and securing eliminations, though survival time counts for significantly more than kills. A viable strategy is to avoid early combat, stay alive through mid-game, and position yourself for late-game encounters when point values are highest.

Claim bonus cosmetics without placing

Even if you don't finish in the top placements, you can still unlock three cosmetic items by reaching specific point thresholds during the cup. These rewards require no placement ranking—only cumulative points earned during your matches.

Earn eight points in the cup to unlock the HUNTR/X emoticon. This is achievable in a single match if you survive long enough. Reach 40 points to unlock the Saja Boys emoticon, and accumulate 80 points to claim the Pink Tiger wrap. These items are free to all participants regardless of final placement.

Purchase Jinu from the Item Shop if you miss the cup

If you don't qualify during the tournament, Jinu will arrive in the Fortnite Item Shop on February 6, 2026, at 7 AM ET as part of the Rumi & Jinu Bundle. The bundle is expected to cost 3,000 V-Bucks and includes the Jinu skin, Golden Rumi skin, two pickaxes (Ancient Hunter's Ssang-geum and Saja Boys Light Stick), and two back blings (Kimbap To Go and Sussie).

The bundle will remain available for several days before rotating out, so you'll have a limited window to purchase it if you want Jinu after the tournament ends. Individual skin pricing suggests Jinu alone would cost around 1,500 V-Bucks if sold separately in the future.

What you get for qualifying

Placing in the top tier of your region during the cup awards both the Jinu skin and the Sussie back bling. The Jinu skin includes two distinct styles: a human appearance and a demon form, both available to you at no additional cost. You can switch between these styles whenever you want after unlocking the skin.

This is a one-time opportunity to earn the skin free of charge. Once the cup ends and the cosmetics rotate out of the tournament reward pool, your only way to obtain Jinu will be through the Item Shop using V-Bucks.
