Stuck hunting a humidifier for your Expedition project? You can search “Residential” areas across every map and still come up empty. There is, however, one route that consistently produces humidifiers and gets you out quickly: the red lockers inside Red Tower on Buried City, a few steps from a metro extract.

Best humidifier location: Buried City, Red Tower lockers
This route is the most reliable way to secure a humidifier quickly, with a very high chance of finding one on each run.
| Map | Spot | What to open | Why it’s good |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buried City | Red Tower (northeast of Plaza Rosa) | Red lockers on the second floor | Consistent humidifier spawns, a few meters from a metro extract |
How to run it:
- Enter Buried City and head to Red Tower. Approach the ground-level entrance near the metro escalators.
- Go upstairs to the second floor. Facing back toward the stairs, look for a row of red lockers opposite you and loot them.
- If you find a humidifier, retrace your path and take the nearby escalator down to the metro to extract.
Notes:
- These specific red lockers have been yielding humidifiers extremely often. Expect occasional dry runs if someone loots them first.
- There’s sometimes a second humidifier spawn on a table in the yellow building above Red Tower. If you have time, check the accessible room with the broken wall on the roof side.
- A Security Breach locker is close by; if you have access, it’s a worthwhile extra pull while you’re there.
Spawn rates can fluctuate with updates. If the lockers are empty or contested, reset and requeue for another Buried City instance.
Other humidifier locations (when Red Tower is looted)
| Map | Residential area | Container / surface | Reliability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dam Battlegrounds | Ruby Residence | Residential containers, surfaces | Occasional; slower than Red Tower |
| Dam Battlegrounds | Pale Apartments | Residential containers | Can spawn, but interior loot is light |
| Blue Gate | Village | Residential containers, surfaces | General residential spawns; variable |
| Buried City | Space Travel building | Lockers inside | Inconsistent; use as a backup check |
Fast extract and loadout choices
Red Tower’s advantage isn’t just the locker spawn—it’s extraction speed. The metro escalator is right outside the ground-floor entrance, so you can be down and out in seconds.
- If you’re running a free loadout, keep in mind there’s no Safe Pocket—extract as soon as you secure the item.
- If you’re using a normal loadout with a Safe Pocket, stashing the humidifier before you leave the building reduces risk.
- Bots can roam the plaza (“Pops”). Exit with your weapon drawn and avoid lingering sightlines.

How many humidifiers you need—and when to recycle
You’ll need five humidifiers to clear the relevant Expedition phase. If you’ve already finished the project, humidifiers are still worth picking up: selling yields 1,000 credits, and recycling returns 2x Canister and 2x Wires. If stash space is tight, the Red Tower sprint-and-extract loop lets you grab exactly what you need without committing to a long raid.
For most players, a simple loop does the job: queue into Buried City, sprint Red Tower → lockers → metro, then repeat until you’ve banked five. If a lobby is hot or the lockers are already open, requeue rather than chasing lower-yield residential zones.
