Konami is launching Fox Hunt, the online PvP mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, on October 29 at 9PM PT / October 30 at 12AM ET, with a global rollout to follow.

Fox Hunt is a stealth-forward, hide-and-seek multiplayer mode built around the series’ core mechanics—camouflage, detection, and survival. Matches support up to 12 players, who compete in pairs across multiple outdoor maps.

Release date and availability

Fox Hunt goes live on October 29 at 9PM PT / October 30 at 12AM ET, per Konami’s announcement. The mode arrives as an update to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Konami’s overview details the mode’s core systems and objectives for launch. Players can expect team-based matches, elimination phases tied to objectives, and a ruleset that emphasizes stealth over run-and-gun play.

New features in Fox Hunt

At launch, Fox Hunt leans into camouflage and sensory tools to heighten the cat-and-mouse pacing:

  • AT-CAMO: an all-terrain camouflage suit that deploys instantly and can swap patterns on the fly to blend into different environments.
  • Naked Sense: a scanning ability that helps locate enemies and supplies, with stamina trade-offs and a detectable activation alert.
  • Team-of-two structure for up to 12 players, with survival-style phases that remove players who miss objectives.
  • Three play fields at launch, including jungle environments.

These systems are outlined on the mode’s official page.

Multiplayer modes and rules

Mode Objective Escalation
Survival Capture Locate and capture Kerotan frogs across the map. The number of frogs decreases as the match progresses, intensifying encounters.
Survival Intrude Capture and hold designated zones. Available zones shrink over time, forcing tighter engagements.

Compatibility and monetization

Fox Hunt will not support cross-platform play. Players can set up private matches with friends on the same platform. The update does not include microtransactions.

With Fox Hunt, Metal Gear’s stealth-first multiplayer returns in a focused package built around camouflage, detection, and shrinking objectives—arriving just in time for late October skirmishes.
