Several Microsoft Office 2016 apps users have been getting the “The Fine Print” pop-up message lately. Some of you even wondered if it’s legitimate or a virus. Well, Microsoft did acknowledge it and said that it’s a license agreement that is being sent erroneously to the users.
We’ve identified that a recent feature update has modified the storage location of the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) acceptance information and is causing users to receive a pop-up message prompting them to accept the user agreement. We’ve initiated the process of reverting this update to mitigate impact.
If you get the “The Fine Print” pop-up asking you to agree to the Microsoft Office License Agreement, then click on the Accept… button and you’ll be good to go. Microsoft has assured that the content of the licensing agreement has not changed.
