Pax Dei hits PC Game Pass — availability, tiers, and what you get
Pax DeiThe social sandbox MMO launches 1.0 on October 16 and is included with PC, Ultimate, and Premium.

Pax Dei’s 1.0 release lands on PC Game Pass today, bringing Mainframe Industries’ medieval social sandbox to Microsoft’s subscription library. The launch build focuses on player-made settlements, crafting, and clan conflict across a large, shared world inspired by folklore.
Where Pax Dei is available on Game Pass (PC only)
Pax Dei is included with PC Game Pass and is also available to Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premium members on PC. There is no console build and no Xbox Cloud Gaming support at launch, so you’ll need a Windows PC to play.
Access route | What you get | Notes |
---|---|---|
Game Pass (PC, Ultimate, Premium) | Full game access on PC | Install from the Xbox app on Windows; no cloud streaming at launch |
Direct purchase (Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic, playpaxdei.com) | Permanent game access, 2 character slots, free one-month Premium Membership (1 plot) | Membership is optional after the free month |

Install with Game Pass
On Windows, open the Xbox app and search for “Pax Dei,” then install from your library. You can also jump straight to the Microsoft Store listing to add it to your account if you’re signed in with an active subscription: Pax Dei on Microsoft Store.

Buy the game instead of subscribing
If you prefer a permanent license, the base game includes two character slots and a free month of Premium Membership with one Plot Token (enough to claim a plot for housing). You can purchase directly from the developer’s store: Buy Pax Dei (official store). The game is also available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

What Premium Membership changes
Pax Dei can be played without a membership. The Premium tier adds progression and land-claim benefits and is intended for players who want to build and expand a home or town:
- +50% Grace from daily login and gold offerings
- +50% XP from all activities
- Plot Tokens to claim building plots (one or more, depending on plan)
The base game purchase grants one free month of Premium with one Plot Token. After that, membership is optional. If you’re playing through Game Pass, membership and plot entitlements are handled in-game and can be added separately; they are not required to explore, craft, or progress.

What kind of MMO Pax Dei is
Pax Dei is a “social sandbox” MMO set in a myth-touched medieval world. The core loop emphasizes cooperation and player-driven economies over quest hubs and NPC towns. You can:
- Claim land (via Plot Tokens) and build out homes, villages, and shared infrastructure
- Gather, craft, and trade gear and materials other players rely on
- Venture into wilderness areas to fight hostile creatures and uncover secrets
- Join clans and contest resources and territory against rivals
The world is designed to be shaped by player effort—from small homesteads to fortified towns—so the experience varies widely depending on who you team up with and where you settle.

Cloud, console, and cross-play details
At launch, Pax Dei is a PC-only title in the Game Pass catalog. It does not support Xbox Cloud Gaming, and there is no console version listed. If you want to play on the go, you’ll need to remote into a Windows PC or use a third-party cloud PC service; native Game Pass cloud streaming isn’t available.
Quick checklist before you dive in
- Subscription: PC Game Pass, Ultimate, or Premium gives you access on Windows.
- Install path: Use the Xbox app on PC or the Microsoft Store listing.
- Ownership vs. subscription: Buying the base game grants permanent access and includes a one-month Premium trial with one plot.
- Membership is optional: Premium adds XP/Grace boosts and Plot Tokens for housing, but isn’t required to play.
If you’re curious but unsure about committing to building and land ownership, start with the Game Pass version and focus on exploration, crafting, and group combat. You can add membership later if the settlement game clicks.
