Wild Zone 16 is a compact arena with a stone circle and a central plinth, and it unlocks late in the story during Main Mission 24 after reaching Rank C. Because the area is small and densely populated, spawn tables shift based on time and weather, and some targets only appear under specific conditions.

Wild Zone 16 Pokémon spawns (time, weather, locations)

Pokémon Time Weather Where to look Notes
Falinks Day/Night Any Circular, shallow water surrounding the inner garden Very common; Alpha variants can appear.
Froakie Day/Night Any Top of the stone plinth in the center maze Skittish; throws itself off and despawns if it spots you. If it flees, it returns after ~5 minutes.
Barbaracle Night Any Roams within the zone Only appears after nightfall.
Flaaffy Day/Night Any Outer edges of the zone Found near the Alpha Ampharos.
Florges Day Sunny Within the inner grounds Sunlight required for spawns.
Starmie Day/Night Rain Within the zone (check water first) Rare; may require multiple area resets to appear.
Alpha Ampharos Day/Night Any Outer edges near Flaaffy Guaranteed Alpha at roughly level 53.

Fast path to 100% completion in Wild Zone 16

  • Start with high-availability spawns: sweep the outer ring for Flaaffy and the Alpha Ampharos, then circle the shallow pool for Falinks.
  • Head to the center plinth for Froakie. Approach crouched from behind cover and throw a ball immediately on detection range.
  • Return at night for Barbaracle. If it’s not present, reset spawns (details below) and recheck.
  • Wait for sunny daytime to find Florges. If weather doesn’t cooperate, rotate spawns until sunny conditions return.
  • Hunt Starmie during rainfall (day or night). Because it’s a rare spawn, plan for several resets.
Note: Any species tied to a Wild Zone counts on that zone’s checklist if you already obtained it via evolution elsewhere, so you may see checklist credit even before you encounter it in Zone 16.

Resetting the area to refresh spawns

When a target doesn’t appear, use fast travel to leave and immediately return to Wild Zone 16 to roll new spawns. This is especially useful for Starmie (rain-only) and for refreshing sunny daytime attempts for Florges. Repeat until the required time and weather line up with the spawn you need.

Targeted strategies for the tricky spawns

  • Froakie: Approach crouched, stay out of its sightline, and open with a Quick Ball the moment you’re in range. If it leaps off and vanishes, set a timer and come back after roughly five minutes.
  • Starmie: Only appears when it’s raining. Use quick reset loops to catch a rainy cycle, then sweep the small zone methodically. Expect several resets due to low spawn rate.
  • Florges: Only during sunny daytime. If clouds roll in, break off and refresh the zone; do not spend daylight in non-sunny conditions.
  • Falinks: The shallow circular pool often holds multiple spawns. If you’re filling the Pokédex, check for Alpha variants while you’re there.

Wild Zone 16 is small, so tight reset loops pay off. Secure the guaranteed Alpha Ampharos early, then work through weather- and time-gated spawns. With quick travel refreshes and a stealth approach on Froakie, a full checklist here is achievable in a short session.
