Wild Zone 5 is an early, vertical slice of Lumiose City with both street-level grass and accessible rooftops. It sits just southwest of the city’s center and spans the Bleu District’s Sectors 1 and 2. Depending on story pacing, it appears as soon as Wild Zones open or during Main Mission 6. Every listed species here spawns day and night, so you aren’t gated by time while completing your catches.

All Wild Zone 5 Pokémon (spawn locations and behavior)

Pokémon Type Usual spot in the zone Notes
Pidgey Normal / Flying Common across the zone; even perched on a car near the front gate Frequent ground and low-perch sightings
Pidgeotto Normal / Flying Rooftops throughout the area Often near the southern rooftops where a TM is found
Abra Psychic Rooftops Fleeing behavior; will attempt Teleport when approached
Bunnelby Normal Small grassy patch near the entrance Shares the patch with Bellsprout and Venipede
Bellsprout Grass / Poison Grassy area near the ice cream stand (by the entrance) Regular spawn and a separate Alpha encounter exist in-zone
Electrike Electric Rooftops Commonly found in pairs
Venipede Bug / Poison Small grass area near the entrance Often alongside Bunnelby (with Bellsprout nearby)
Tip: Use stealth to approach rooftop spawns without startling them. Ladders and linked ledges let you traverse several roofs in one loop; scan each roofline before climbing to avoid spooking fleeing targets like Abra.

Alpha Pokémon in Wild Zone 5

There are two Alphas here with consistent availability (day and night). Expect higher levels than the surrounding spawns and more aggressive behavior.

Alpha Level Where to look Notes
Bellsprout (Alpha) Lv. 25 Near ground-level grass by the entrance/ice cream stand Notable for learning Toxic naturally; useful for attrition captures
Whirlipede (Alpha) Lv. 28 Elevated path/rooftop area accessible via ladders Check interconnected rooftops; listen for the Alpha’s audio cue
Note: Alpha Bellsprout’s access to Toxic makes it a practical tool for securing other Alpha captures. Poison an Alpha, rotate defensively, and wait until its HP dips into a safe catch range.

Where each spawn reliably appears

  • Entrance grass (compact patch): Venipede and Bunnelby are routine here; Bellsprout spawns nearby.
  • Ice cream stand area: Bellsprout is especially common around this landmark.
  • Rooftops: Pidgeotto, Abra, and Electrike dominate rooflines. Electrike often appears in pairs. Abra will bail quickly if alerted.
  • Front gate: Pidgey is widespread and can even perch on vehicles near the gate.

Rooftop routing: Look for a ladder that leads to another ladder to chain multiple roofs in one pass. This makes it easier to scan for Abra without climbing up and down repeatedly.

Item to grab: TM040 Bullet Seed

TM040 Bullet Seed sits on a rooftop near the southern entrance to the zone. Climb the adjacent buildings to reach it; a Pidgeotto often patrols that same rooftop. If you’re routing for rooftop Pokémon, swing through this area once you’ve cleared the entrance grass.

Capture tactics for Wild Zone 5

  • Abra (fleeing): Approach from behind in stealth, then throw immediately. Status effects like Sleep or Freeze reduce escapes and improve catch odds.
  • Rooftop pairs (Electrike): Engage one at a time—use line-of-sight breaks around roof structures to avoid pulling both.
  • Alpha management: Open with a defensive pivot or resistive lead, apply Toxic (Alpha Bellsprout excels here), and let the HP tick down before throwing.
  • Time-of-day: All listed species spawn day and night, so prioritize pathing over clock cycling.

Availability and map context

Wild Zone 5 is one of the earliest urban-fabric zones, mixing narrow street pockets with accessible roofs and short ladder hops. It’s placed just southwest of Lumiose City’s center and covers Bleu Sectors 1 and 2. Some players encounter it as soon as Wild Zones open; others reach it during Main Mission 6.

Once you’ve swept the entrance grass, laddered up to clear the rooftops, and grabbed the Bullet Seed TM, you’ll have most of what Wild Zone 5 offers. Use Alpha Bellsprout to set up easier captures elsewhere, then move on to the next Wild Zone with a stronger early-game roster.
