Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event guide to all missions and promo rewards

The Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event in Pokémon TCG Pocket is a Solo Battle ladder built around Pidgeot-themed decks and a single chase prize: the Mega Pidgeot ex promo. Over a limited window, you burn event stamina to clear four CPU stages, collect first‑time rewards, and roll for Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1, which is the only way to pick up Mega Pidgeot ex and four other promo cards.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event schedule

The Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event runs once, then disappears:

Region / format Start End
UTC (event banner) Nov 18, 2025 – 06:00 Dec 5, 2025 – 06:00
In‑game Solo Battle period (stages) Nov 18, 2025 Nov 28, 2025

That gives roughly ten days where the four Solo Battles are live and can be farmed. The wider event banner window to December 5, is used for stamina rollover and claiming leftover gifts.

Mega Pidgeot ex and all Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 cards

Every time you receive a Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 from the event, you get one of five cards with fixed odds. All of them are alternate art or event‑exclusive promos.

Card Role Pull chance from Promo Pack B Vol. 1
Mega Pidgeot ex (PROMO‑B‑006) Headline Mega Evolution ex, exclusive to this drop event 12.66%
Luxray (PROMO‑B‑004) Alternate artwork of its Mega Rising version 15.82%
Froakie (PROMO‑B‑003) Event‑exclusive Basic promo 23.84%
Petilil (PROMO‑B‑002) Event‑exclusive Basic promo 23.84%
Pidgey (PROMO‑B‑005) Alternate artwork of its Mega Rising counterpart 23.84%

Mega Pidgeot ex itself is a Colorless Stage 2 Mega Evolution ex with 210 HP and a weakness to Lightning. Its attack, Giant Twister, costs three Colorless Energy, shows 100 damage on the card, and flips three coins. For each head, a random Energy is discarded from the opponent’s Active Pokémon; if all three flips are tails, the attack does nothing. As with all Mega Evolution ex cards in Pocket, knocking it out gives the opponent three points.

Mega Pidgeot ex cannot be opened from the standard Mega Expansion packs. Within Pokémon TCG Pocket, it only comes from Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 and only while this event is running.

Event stamina, Event Hourglass, and Wonder Hourglass

Running any of the Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Solo Battles consumes a special stamina pool, separate from regular Solo stamina:

  • Each run costs 1 Event Stamina.
  • Event Stamina regenerates at 1 point every 12 hours.
  • You can bank up to 5 natural Event Stamina plus 3 extra by using Event Hourglasses, for 8 total stored.
  • Event Stamina is only spent on a win; losing or conceding does not consume it.

Event Hourglasses are the reward for clearing “Battle Task” missions inside each stage. Spending an Event Hourglass restores 1 Event Stamina. Wonder Hourglasses function similarly but are tied to broader Wonder‑type content and are handed out on the higher‑difficulty tasks in this event.

Event Hourglasses carry between Drop Events. If you finish all the rewards here, any leftover can be held for the next promo event instead of being forced to spend them immediately.

Promo Pack B drop rates by Solo Battle difficulty

Every clear during the event has a separate roll to drop Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1. The odds climb with each difficulty step, and Expert becomes the farm of choice once you can beat it reliably.

Solo Battle difficulty Chance for 1× Promo Pack B Vol. 1 per clear
Beginner 51%
Intermediate 64%
Advanced 80%
Expert 100% (guaranteed)

Beginner through Advanced are useful for first‑time rewards and for stacking Event Hourglasses; Expert is the most efficient way to grind Promo Pack B once your deck can win consistently.

All Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event missions and rewards

The event is structured as four Solo Battles: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. Each one has three reward layers:

  • A one‑time clear bonus the first time you win.
  • Battle Tasks, which pay out Hourglasses when completed under specific conditions.
  • Chance rewards that roll every time you win: a chance at a promo pack, Shop Tickets, and guaranteed Shinedust.

Beginner Solo Battle

Beginner is the on‑ramp. The opposing deck is a low‑pressure mix of Pidgey, Pidgeotto, early Normal‑types, and a couple of Poké Ball trainers.

Category Reward Amount / notes
First‑time clear Pack Hourglass 2
First‑time clear Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1
First‑time clear Shop Ticket 1
First‑time clear Player EXP 25
Battle Task KO an Active Pokémon with a Lightning‑type attack 4× Event Hourglass
Battle Task Put 3 Basic Pokémon into play 4× Event Hourglass
Chance reward Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1 (51% chance)
Chance reward Shop Ticket 1 (38.7% chance)
Chance reward Shinedust 25 (100% chance)

Meeting both Beginner tasks in a single win effectively refunds a large portion of your Event Stamina via Hourglasses, so it is worth doing them once even if your deck is already strong enough to skip to higher tiers.

Intermediate Solo Battle

Intermediate upgrades the CPU list with a Pidgeot line and stronger Supporters like Professor’s Research. The mission conditions stay fairly gentle, but you start to see more pressure on your bench and Energy.

Category Reward Amount / notes
First‑time clear Pack Hourglass 4
First‑time clear Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1
First‑time clear Shop Ticket 1
First‑time clear Player EXP 50
Battle Task KO an Active Pokémon with a Lightning‑type attack 3× Event Hourglass
Battle Task Put a Stage 1 Pokémon into play 4× Event Hourglass
Battle Task Win with 1 or more Mega Rising cards in your deck 2× Event Hourglass
Chance reward Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1 (64% chance)
Chance reward Shop Ticket 1 (48.3% chance)
Chance reward Shinedust 25 (100% chance)

Note: putting a Stage 1 into play counts any evolution from a Basic, not just Mega Rising cards. The Mega Rising requirement is handled by your decklist, not by any specific play action.

Advanced Solo Battle

Advanced is where Mega Pidgeot ex first shows up on the other side of the table. The CPU’s list adds Mega Pidgeot ex, Braviary, Eiscue, and a small package of Items and Supporters that help it stabilize and draw into its threats.

Category Reward Amount / notes
First‑time clear Pack Hourglass 6
First‑time clear Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1
First‑time clear Shop Ticket 1
First‑time clear Player EXP 75
Battle Task KO an Active Pokémon with a Lightning‑type attack 4× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win with no Pokémon ex in your deck 4× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win with 1 or more Mega Rising cards in your deck 4× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win without your opponent earning any points 4× Wonder Hourglass
Chance reward Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1 (80% chance)
Chance reward Shop Ticket 1 (60.4% chance)
Chance reward Shinedust 25 (100% chance)

The “no Pokémon ex in your deck” constraint is strict: any ex, including Mega Evolutions, breaks that task. The “no points” clear condition means you cannot allow any of your Pokémon to be knocked out. Running a streamlined, non‑ex aggressive deck makes those objectives more manageable for a one‑time clear.

Expert Solo Battle

Expert is the top rung and the centerpiece of the Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event. The CPU deck leans heavily into Mega Pidgeot ex, with Supporters, Rare Candy, and Elemental Switch to get it into play quickly and keep Energy attached.

Category Reward Amount / notes
First‑time clear Pack Hourglass 8
First‑time clear Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1
First‑time clear Shop Ticket 1
First‑time clear Player EXP 100
Battle Task Win with no Pokémon ex in your deck 5× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win with 1 or more Mega Rising cards in your deck 5× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win with 1 or more Mega Evolution Pokémon ex in your deck 5× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win 5 or more battles (cumulative) 5× Wonder Hourglass
Battle Task Win 10 or more battles (cumulative) 5× Wonder Hourglass
Chance reward Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 1 (100% chance)
Chance reward Shop Ticket 1 (75.5% chance)
Chance reward Shinedust 25 (100% chance)

Because every Expert win guarantees a promo pack, this is where most players spend their Event Stamina once they can win reliably. The two cumulative “Win 5” and “Win 10” tasks reward playing Expert multiple times, and they can be completed with any deck as long as you’re winning.

Most of the Battle Tasks push you toward two patterns:

  • Include at least one Mega Rising card in your deck for multiple tasks across Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert.
  • Either lean fully into ex / Mega Evolution ex for one Expert task, or build a separate non‑ex list to hit the “no ex in deck” tasks at Advanced and Expert.

For smooth clears, decks built around current Mega Rising headliners work well. Mega Gyarados ex, Mega Ampharos ex, and Mega Blaziken ex all offer high damage and strong tempo plays that can stabilize against the CPU’s Mega Pidgeot ex while still hitting the various mission conditions. A Lightning‑focused list also makes the repeated “KO with a Lightning‑type attack” task trivial.

Once you have a deck that wins Expert consistently, the optimal loop is straightforward: clear each stage once to claim all first‑time rewards and Hourglasses, then spend the rest of the event’s Event Stamina on Expert runs until you are satisfied with your stack of Promo Pack B Series Vol. 1 pulls.

For anyone invested in Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Mega Rising era, the Mega Pidgeot EX Drop Event is less about difficulty spikes and more about efficient routing. Clear the missions, bank your Hourglasses, and live in Expert until Mega Pidgeot ex finally shows up in your promo packs.
