The Red Needle Sword is a unique one-handed weapon in Crimson Desert that excels at landing rapid, consecutive hits. It isn't tied to any quest, so you won't stumble across it through normal story progression. Instead, it's tucked away inside the Sanctum of Oblation, a ruin on an island in eastern Delesyia, and reaching the treasure chest requires solving a simple lantern-based mechanism.
Quick answer: Travel to the Sanctum of Oblation in Delesyia, find the hidden staircase on the eastern side of the structure, light the lantern in the lower room to unlock a sealed gate, then loop back to the entrance to open the treasure chest containing the Red Needle Sword and a Palmar Pill.

Reaching the Sanctum of Oblation
The Sanctum of Oblation sits on an island off the eastern coast of Delesyia. If you're still early in the story, be aware that the guards in Demeniss are hostile and will attack on sight as you pass through. Flying enemies also patrol parts of Delesyia, but you can ride past most of them without engaging. Depending on how far you've progressed, the Sanctum itself may be crawling with enemies or completely empty.
There are no mandatory boss fights at this location, so the main challenge is simply getting there. Once you arrive, look for the entrance on the eastern side of the Sanctum's main structure.

Red Needle Sword — Pickup steps
Step 1: Enter the Sanctum of Oblation through the eastern doorway. Head into the courtyard and go inside the main building. Turn left to enter the first room, then immediately turn right to spot a narrow gap in the wall that leads into a hidden hallway.

Step 2: Follow the hallway and climb down the staircase to your left. At the bottom, you'll see two branching paths. Take the straight path first — the one that leads directly ahead rather than curving off to the side.
Step 3: At the end of this corridor, you'll notice a broken wall. Through the gap, you can see a treasure chest sitting in a sealed room behind a locked gate. The chest is visible but not yet reachable.
Step 4: Interact with the lantern positioned right next to the broken wall. Lighting it triggers the mechanism that opens the sealed gate elsewhere in the Sanctum.

Step 5: Head back up the stairs to the branching point and take the other path. Make a right turn, and you'll find yourself standing in front of the now-unlocked treasure room. Open the chest to collect the Red Needle Sword along with a Palmar Pill consumable.

How to confirm you picked it up
After opening the treasure chest, the Red Needle Sword appears in your inventory as a one-handed weapon. You can equip it immediately from your equipment menu. The chest will remain open and empty if you revisit the room, confirming the pickup was successful.

The Red Needle Sword is one of the easier unique weapons to miss in Crimson Desert because nothing in the game's quest log points you toward it. If you're making the trek to eastern Delesyia anyway, it's well worth the short detour into the Sanctum of Oblation — just remember to light the lantern before heading back upstairs.
