Sailor Piece Clans Explained — Every Clan, Buff, and How to Reroll

Clans in Sailor Piece function like a family name or rank that your character carries, and each one grants a unique set of stat buffs and passive combat effects. They were first introduced during the King & Monarch update and expanded with the Alter update, adding a new top-tier option. Choosing the right Clan — or grinding for a reroll — can meaningfully change your damage output, survivability, and luck.

Quick answer: You receive a random Clan when you start playing. To change it, you need a Clan Reroll item, which drops at a rare chance from any NPC enemy or chest in the game. The two strongest Clans right now are Alter (Legendary) and Espada (Legendary).

What Clans Do in Sailor Piece

Every Clan provides a combination of flat percentage boosts to stats like DMG, Max HP, Luck, and either Sword DMG or Melee DMG. Higher-rarity Clans also come with a unique passive ability that triggers during combat. These passives can stack with other buff systems like Spec Passives, Blessings, and Accessories, making Clan selection an important layer of your overall build.

Clans range from Common to Legendary rarity. You are assigned one at random when you first create your character, and the only way to change it is through a Clan Reroll.

How to Get Clan Rerolls

Clan Rerolls are not purchased from a shop or NPC. Instead, they drop as a rare item from defeating any NPC enemy in the game, including mobs on every island. They can also appear inside chests. There is no confirmed drop rate, so farming high-density mob areas — like Shinjuku Island using the Quake fruit — is the most efficient approach if you want to accumulate rerolls quickly.

Once you have a Clan Reroll in your inventory, use it to randomly assign a new Clan. The result is entirely RNG-based, so landing a Legendary Clan may take many attempts.

All Sailor Piece Clans — Stats and Passives

The table below lists every known Clan organized by rarity, along with their stat bonuses and passive effects where applicable.

Clan Rarity Stat Bonuses Passive Effect
Alter Legendary +35% DMG, +50% Max HP, +10% Melee DMG, +12% Luck After every 5 Ability attacks, the next one deals 1.5x DMG (multiplier)
Espada Legendary +32% DMG, +50% Max HP, +10% Sword DMG, +10% Luck Every 10 abilities used, +20% DMG for 6 seconds

Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Clans also exist but provide lower stat bonuses and lack the powerful passive abilities that make the Legendary options so dominant. New Clans are typically added alongside major content updates that introduce new islands, weapons, and fighting styles.

⚠️
Only Legendary Clans have been confirmed to carry unique passive combat effects. Lower-rarity Clans still grant flat stat boosts but won't trigger any special ability during fights.

Alter vs. Espada — Which Clan Is Better?

Both Legendary Clans are strong, but they serve slightly different playstyles. Alter offers higher base DMG (+35% vs. +32%), more Luck (+12% vs. +10%), and a passive that triggers more frequently — every 5 ability uses rather than every 10. The 1.5x damage multiplier on the next ability hit is a significant burst window, especially against bosses.

Espada trades a bit of raw damage and luck for +10% Sword DMG, making it a better fit if your build leans heavily on sword attacks. Its passive grants a flat +20% DMG buff for 6 seconds after every 10 abilities, which is less bursty but provides a sustained window of increased output during extended fights.

For most players, Alter edges ahead due to its higher base stats and more frequent passive activation. However, Espada remains a top-tier pick for sword-focused builds and is still considered one of the strongest Clans in the game.

How Clans Interact With Spec Passives

Clans and Spec Passives are separate buff systems that stack independently. Your Clan bonuses apply to all combat, while Spec Passives only affect your equipped Spec (fighting style) and Sword — they do not buff Fruit abilities. This means a Clan like Alter, which boosts Melee DMG, pairs well with a Spec Passive like Berserker or Executioner for maximum melee burst damage.

If you're farming for drops, combining a high-Luck Clan (Alter at +12% or Espada at +10%) with the Fortune Chaser Spec Passive creates a strong loot-focused setup. Fortune Chaser adds up to +30% chance for an extra drop and up to +10% Luck on top of your Clan's existing Luck bonus.

Farming Tips for Clan Rerolls

Since Clan Rerolls drop from any NPC, the fastest way to farm them is to maximize the number of enemies you kill per hour. The popular Quake fruit method on Shinjuku Island works well here — position yourself between two mob spawn groups and use Quake's area-of-effect attacks to hit both clusters simultaneously. This same farming route is commonly used for Passive Shards and general loot grinding, so you can work toward multiple goals at once.

Equipping Luck-boosting gear, Accessories, and a Luck-focused Spec Passive won't guarantee Clan Reroll drops, but they improve your overall drop rates across the board, which helps over long farming sessions.

Clans are one of several layered buff systems in Sailor Piece, and landing a Legendary one — particularly Alter or Espada — gives you a meaningful edge in both damage and survivability. If you're still running a Common or Uncommon Clan, prioritizing Clan Reroll farming is one of the most impactful upgrades you can make to your build.
