Sentinel locations Arc Raiders: Where to farm Firing Cores on every map

Sentinel Firing Cores are one of the most frustrating choke points in Arc Raiders. You only need four to push your Gunsmith workbench to level three, but Sentinels themselves are rare, their spawns are inconsistent, and their wreckage sometimes lands far from where you actually shot them.

This page focuses on what players actually care about: where Sentinels spawn on each map, which ones are worth farming, and how Arc couriers fit into the picture.

What Sentinels are and how to spot them

Sentinels are a specific ARC variant: a large, unarmored sniper turret that mounts to buildings, ledges, and occasionally ceilings. They behave differently from the common machine-gun turrets.

ARC type Weapon pattern Laser behavior Typical mount Relevant loot
Sentinel Single high-damage round every ~5 seconds Horizontal laser that scans across terrain High exterior ledges, towers, ceilings Sentinel Firing Core
Machine-gun turret Sustained bullet stream when aggroed Usually no obvious scanning beam Walls, roofs, choke points Standard turret parts (no Firing Core)
Surveyor No direct fire; acts as a scanner Vertical blue beam pointed into the sky Ground or low mounts Different ARC components

Once you recognize the slow, horizontal “search” laser and the single heavy shot rhythm, it becomes much easier to tell Sentinels apart from regular turrets at a distance.

Dam Battlegrounds Sentinel locations

Dam Battlegrounds is the map most players use to farm Sentinels, because it packs several good spawn points into a relatively small area. None of these are guaranteed every match, but they’re the most consistent spots.

Area Exact spot Notes
Research & Development Top of the blue exterior staircase, on the outside corner of the Admin/R&D building One of the most commonly farmed Sentinels; its wreck often falls all the way to the ground below.
Dam breach (destroyed span) Either end of the broken dam between Control Tower and Power Generation Complex Sniper turret overlooking the gap; players report it on both the north and south sides in different runs.
North side of the gap Twisted metal walkway high above the valley between Control Tower, Hydroponics, and Power Generation Acts as a long-range overwatch; spawn can alternate sides of the gap.

Players also report that on night variants of Dam, the R&D staircase Sentinel appears “most of the time”, but it’s still not a true 100 percent spawn. Sometimes you’ll get a different turret, or it simply won’t spawn at all.

One quirk on Dam is the wreckage behavior. When you finally destroy the Sentinel, the chassis can drop a long way and bounce or clip against geometry. Some runs end with the body falling through the floor or landing somewhere awkward along the dam wall, which makes it feel like it never dropped loot at all.

Buried City Sentinel locations

Buried City is the other popular choice for farming. It has several Sentinel spawns concentrated around the central urban area, which you can sweep in a single run.

Area Exact spot Notes
Town Hall Yellow bell tower on top of the Town Hall building Visible from much of the plaza. Night variants make the scanning beam easier to see.
Santa Maria Houses Courtyard interior where the Digging Up Dirt quest sends you Ceiling-mounted Sentinel attached to ornate interiors; wreck can fall into the courtyard below.
Destroyed highway Under the collapsed highway a little south of the map center Reported Sentinel spawn; some players mention wreckage vanishing when killed here.

Night Raid events in Buried City are a favorite for some players; the Town Hall Sentinel in particular gets called out as “always by the Town Hall” during those runs, though others still run into missing spawns or unlootable wreckage.

Spaceport Sentinel locations

Spaceport is dense and vertical, and its Sentinels are tucked into high-tech structures around the launch facilities.

Area Exact spot Notes
Rocket Assembly High mounts overlooking the assembly hall and gantries Expect a Sentinel clamped to upper walls watching open floors and catwalks.
Container Storage Above stacked containers and lanes between them The turret can use long sightlines down container “streets”, so approach from cover.
Control Tower A6 On or near the tower structure facing outward into the yard Good spot to check whenever you route through the tower for quests or extractions.

Spaceport doesn’t have a single “famous” Sentinel farm spot the way Dam does, but if you loop Rocket Assembly → Container Storage → Control Tower A6, you’ll cover the main reported locations.

Blue Gate Sentinel locations

Blue Gate has fewer but very predictable Sentinel spawns, especially in its northern high ground.

Area Exact spot Notes
Checkpoint (northeast) Concrete area on the northeast side of Checkpoint Acts as a fixed overwatch turret on a slab or elevated structure.
Pilgrim’s Peak Tower on top of the hill that holds the high-tier loot area Often described as a “100% spawn” by players; if you want one guaranteed Sentinel, this is it.
Radio tower Midway up the radio tower structure Another reported spawn; good to check when you’re already climbing for vantage or loot.

This map is a strong choice if you want fewer variables. Pilgrim’s Peak, in particular, is a reliable way to see a Sentinel almost every deployment.

How Arc couriers fit into Sentinel Firing Core drops

Firing Cores don’t just drop from Sentinels themselves. Arc couriers are a separate path, and for some players they end up being more reliable than hunting turrets.

Arc couriers are large chest-like ARC containers scattered around every map. When you breach and loot them, they can roll parts from multiple ARC enemy types, including Sentinels, which means they have a chance to contain Sentinel Firing Cores.

Courier detail Impact on Sentinel farming
Spawn behavior Multiple potential spawn points per map; not all are active every match.
Loot table Mix of ARC components; Sentinel Firing Cores are a rare but confirmed outcome.
Good region to farm Around Research & Development on Dam Battlegrounds, which has lots of courier spawns.

Some players report getting all their Cores from couriers without ever looting a Sentinel wreck, while others see a roughly even split between turret kills and couriers. Either way, whenever you’re sweeping for Sentinels in a region like R&D on Dam or along the perimeter of Buried City, it’s worth diverting for any crashed couriers you see along the way.

Sentinel Firing Core drop behavior and known quirks

Part of the frustration around Sentinel locations in Arc Raiders comes from how inconsistent the drops feel even when you do find and kill them. The underlying patterns are simple, but the bugs make them messy.

Behavior or issue What players see Practical takeaway
Low spawn chance Multiple runs across Dam or Buried City with no Sentinel in a known spawn Rotate maps and sweep all known locations each deployment; don’t wait on a single spot.
Loot not guaranteed Sentinel dies but wreckage has no loot prompt There’s no confirmed one-core-per-kill rule; expect some kills to give nothing.
Wreckage falling out of bounds Chassis drops through floors or disappears off ledges, especially at Dam and Buried City Town Hall Watch the turret as it explodes and track where the body lands; cores may be far from the mounting point.
Map rotation “theory” Some players only saw lootable wreckage when killing one Sentinel on each map Not confirmed as a rule; others have looted multiple Cores from repeating the same map.

There’s also confusion about turret types. Only the sniper Sentinel drops Firing Cores; machine-gun turrets that look similar will not. One player summary puts it simply: the Sentinel is the sniper, the other one is just a turret.

How to safely farm Sentinels once you find them

Sentinels hit hard, but they’re not complicated to deal with once you know how they track targets.

  • Use cover and bait shots. Sentinels fire a single heavy round on a predictable cadence. Peek to draw a shot, duck back, then re-peek during the reload window to return fire.
  • Prioritize the vulnerable capsule. The small pod attached to the swiveling arm is the weak point. Focus your shots there rather than into the bulk of the mount.
  • Bring damage, not just mobility. A low-tier rifle like a Ferro can do the job with patient peeks, but shotguns, heavy ammo weapons, and grenades shorten the fight.
  • Expect extra adds. Explosions and gunfire around R&D or the dam breach tend to pull in Hornets, Wasps, and other ARCs. Clear the area or be ready to reposition.
  • Track the wreckage. As soon as the Sentinel’s health breaks, keep your eyes on the body as it falls so you can follow it to the landing point.
Tip: if you have a Safe Pockets augment in your loadout, slot any Firing Core into it immediately. That way, even if another squad wipes you on the way to extraction, you won’t lose the item.

Efficient Sentinel Core farming routes

Once you know the main Sentinel locations in Arc Raiders, the last step is stitching them into quick loops.

Route Map Stops Why it works
Dam triangle Dam Battlegrounds R&D blue staircase → north breach Sentinel → opposite breach end, checking couriers around R&D Hits three Sentinel spawns and a dense cluster of courier spots in a single run.
Buried City plaza loop Buried City Santa Maria courtyard → Town Hall bell tower → destroyed highway underside → perimeter couriers Three Sentinel positions in one compact area, plus easy courier checks on the outskirts.
Blue Gate high ground Blue Gate Checkpoint northeast concrete slab → Pilgrim’s Peak tower → radio tower Fast rotation over reliable overwatch spawns, good when you want at least one near-guaranteed Sentinel.
Spaceport spine Spaceport Rocket Assembly → Container Storage → Control Tower A6 Covers the main reported turret spots along the central industrial structures.

Many players simply rotate maps: run Dam until you’ve cleared the triangle, back out, queue Buried City and hit the plaza loop, then Blue Gate for Pilgrim’s Peak, and repeat. Each run also checks multiple couriers along the way, giving you two independent ways to roll for Sentinel Firing Cores.

Sentinels will probably continue to be one of the more annoying hunts in the game, especially with occasional bugged wreckage. But once you internalize the key Sentinel locations in Arc Raiders and fold courier checks into your routes, you can turn the grind from “impossible” into a few focused evenings of targeted runs.
