Hollow Knight: Silksong tracks 52 in-game achievements. PlayStation adds a platinum for collecting them all; the exact trophy tally shown by platform services may differ by how hidden awards and the platinum are counted, but a platinum exists and you’ll be working through the same underlying set.

How the list is structured

Silksong’s achievements fall into six broad buckets:

  • Progression: boss clears and major story beats (many are hidden until unlocked).
  • Collection: maps, shards, fragments, tools, crests, and fleas.
  • Tasks and world systems: opening transit, granting wishes, acquiring your home.
  • Skill unlocks: binding Silk Skills and expanding Hornet’s resource bars.
  • Time trials: complete runs under strict time caps.
  • Mode clears: permadeath (“Steel Soul”) and its 100% variant.

What’s actually missable (and how to avoid pain)

Most of the list is replay-safe. A few items can be locked out by story progression or one-time areas:

  • Pharloom’s Welcome (Lace in Deep Docks): Fight Lace in Deep Docks before progressing far enough to meet her later in the Citadel. If you skip the Deep Docks encounter and advance the story, this specific achievement won’t trigger in that save.
  • Twisted Child (cursed Grand Mother Silk): This requires accepting a curse after completing two Greyroot wishes, then defeating Grand Mother Silk while cursed. If you remove the curse before the fight, you’ll need a different save or a replay to attempt it again.
  • True Hunter (Hunter’s Memento): This demands filling and mastering the Hunter’s journal. A handful of enemies appear only in memory-style sequences or contained arenas. Community reports differ on how forgiving the journal is if you clear those areas quickly; to be safe, make entries in those zones before finishing their bosses.

Tip: Silksong’s save select screen surfaces prior autosaves. If you advance into a lockout and haven’t overwritten all slots, you can often roll back to just before the point of no return.

Planning for the time trials

There are two timers to respect:

  • Speedrunner: reach credits under 5 hours.
  • Speed Completion: finish at 100% under 30 hours.

A practical approach is three runs:

  • First playthrough: go blind, learn layouts and bosses, and collect freely.
  • Second playthrough (100% route): map out a full-completion path and practice movement. Finishing under 30 hours is manageable once you know where everything is and can skip detours.
  • Third playthrough (any% speed): cut the route to the essentials and accept lower upgrades. This will be tighter on resources but shorter on travel.

Why it matters: attempts at both timers in one save increase risk. By front-loading knowledge in a relaxed run, you reduce resets later.

Steel Soul and Steel Heart

Steel Soul Mode is Silksong’s permadeath run. “Steel Soul” requires a clear; “Steel Heart” layers 100% completion onto that permadeath constraint. If you’re new to the mode, treat it as a separate project. Route safety benches, minimize backtracking, and budget Silk and masks for boss spikes over platforming detours.

Collection checklists (where players get stuck)

  • Maps: there are 28 area maps to acquire. If you’re stuck at 99%, confirm you’ve picked up the last few late-game maps; some are gated behind boss or puzzle progress.
  • Transit: 10 Bellways across Pharloom and all 6 Citadel Ventrica Stations must be opened for their respective achievements. Both track only once you unlock each station, not when you discover the room.
  • Resource bars: finish out all 20 Mask Shards, 18 Spool Fragments, and 3 Silk Hearts to unlock their capstone achievements.
  • Build systems: collect all 7 Crests and bind all 6 Silk Skills to complete those lines.
  • Tools: there are 51. Leave yourself time in the 100% run to sweep merchants and late-game side paths; a missing tool is a common 99% culprit.
  • Fleas: rescue 15 for “Flea Finder” and all 30 for “Fleafriend.” Keep notes; a few are off main routes.

Boss checklist (light spoilers)

For routing, these names anchor many unlocks and hidden achievements:

  • Bell Beast, Widow, Fourth Chorus, Last Judge, Cogwork Dancers, Trobbio
  • Lace (Deep Docks) and Lace (Cradle)
  • Grand Mother Silk (regular, Soul Snare, and cursed variants)
  • Phantom, First Sinner, Crust King Khann, Nyleth, Clover Dancers, Skarrsinger Karmelita, Lost Garmond

About trophies vs achievements

On PC and Xbox, you’ll see the 52-achievement list reflected directly. PlayStation includes a platinum for earning every other trophy. The total number shown in PSN trackers varies by how the platform groups and displays hidden awards and the platinum, but the underlying objectives are the same.

  • During Act 1 and early Act 2, unlock transit (Bellways, Ventrica) as soon as practical to shorten later sweeps.
  • Before pushing pivotal story beats that change access, handle one-off encounters like Lace in Deep Docks and any memory-bound arenas you intend to journal.
  • Collect maps early; they accelerate every other checklist.
  • Save the three Grand Mother Silk variants for a focused session so you don’t remove the curse prematurely.
  • Leave “Speed Completion” for a fresh file once you know where the last few collectibles hide. Attempt “Speedrunner” only after you’ve built comfort fighting bosses with fewer upgrades.

If you’re aiming for the platinum, expect at least two full playthroughs, with a third if you separate 100% and any% speed goals. None of the collection achievements require extreme execution; the difficulty spikes come from boss mastery, cursed constraints, and the two timers. Plan your order, respect the few missables, and budget time for a final sweep.
