Stand Awakening in Bizarre Lineage — Requirements, Quest Steps, and Raid Locations

Stand Awakening is a mid-game progression milestone in Bizarre Lineage that raises your Stand's stat cap, pushing your character beyond normal limits. The game does a poor job of explaining how to start the process, and the final step demands a significant time investment. Here's exactly what's required and how to get through it efficiently.

Quick answer: Reach character level 50, max out your Stand Conjuration to level 100, then meditate at the Gym near Bus Stop 2 and select "I want to surpass my limits." Complete the Jotaro, Muhammad Avdol, and DIO raids, then finish 50 World Events to fully awaken your Stand.

Awakening Prerequisites — Level 50 and Conjuration 100

Two hard requirements gate the entire awakening questline. Your character must be at least level 50, and the Stand you want to awaken must have its Conjuration maxed at level 100. You cannot even see the quest dialogue until both conditions are met, so there's no shortcut around them.

Conjuration increases whenever you use a specific Stand in combat or complete activities while it's equipped. Missions, quests, defeating NPCs, winning ranked matches, and PvP missions all contribute. However, the fastest method by far is meditating on a mat inside the Gym building at Bus Stop 2 and fighting your inner self repeatedly. Each defeat of the Self NPC grants roughly 20,000 Conjuration, and there is currently no cooldown on the fight. You can reach max Conjuration in well under an hour this way.

Leveling to 50 happens naturally alongside Conjuration farming. World Events grant 20,000–25,000 XP per completion (scaling with participant count), storyline quests offer steady XP and Conjuration together, and boss kills — particularly Kira, who has only 700 HP — provide quick bursts of around 3,000 XP each. PvE delivery missions from mission boards are another reliable source, awarding roughly 2,000–2,300 XP per run with minimal effort.

Starting the Awakening Quest — Meditation and Dialogue

Step 1: Travel to any bus stop and ride the bus to Bus Stop 2. Directly behind the stop, you'll find JoJo's Bizarre Gym. Head inside.

Step 2: Locate any mat on the floor and press E to meditate. This transports you into a meditation realm.

Step 3: Find the Self NPC inside the meditation realm. Talk to him and choose the dialogue option "I want to surpass my limits." The NPC will respond with "Defeat those with true power," and the Stand Awakening 1 quest begins.

Stand Awakening 1 — Defeating Three Raid Bosses

The first quest phase requires you to complete three specific raids in any order:

  • Jotaro Kujo — located near Bus Stop 2. Press N to reveal NPC markers on the map and look for the raid entrance close to the bus stop.
  • Muhammad Avdol — located behind Bus Stop 14. This raid spawns the boss immediately and is considered the easiest of the three.
  • DIO — located at Bus Stop 15. Head north past the gas station, climb the ladders, and enter the castle to find the raid entrance.

There are no grade requirements for any of these raids. You can complete them at any difficulty rank, and dying during the raid does not disqualify you — only finishing the raid matters. The Avdol fight is straightforward enough to solo, while DIO and Jotaro can be tougher. Bringing a friend for those two is worth considering, especially if your stats are still low.

Note: Check your quest progress under the Missions tab → Stand Awakening to confirm each raid registered. Deaths during the raid still count toward completion.

Stand Awakening 2 — Completing 50 World Events

After clearing all three raids, the second phase of the questline activates automatically. This is where the grind gets real: you must complete 50 World Events.

World Events spawn roughly every 10–15 minutes and come in two varieties. Deathmatch pits players against each other with one life each — even if you die, your team winning still counts and awards a Legendary Chest, Rare Chest, Common Chest, XP, and cash. Graveyard Shift requires killing waves of NPCs, which can be significantly harder since grouped enemies deal heavy damage.

Deathmatch events are the better option whenever they appear. The rewards are identical, the completion condition is more forgiving, and you benefit from other players carrying the match even if you go down early. Graveyard Shift is worth doing if you need XP badly, but expect tougher fights.

At one event every 10–15 minutes, completing 50 takes roughly 8–12 hours of active play spread across multiple sessions. There is no way to speed this up beyond simply being present for every event that fires. Many players have voiced frustration about this requirement, and it may be adjusted in a future update.

What Awakening Actually Gives You

Completing the full questline raises your Stand's stat cap. This means the ceiling on how powerful your Stand's stats can grow is permanently increased, which is critical for late-game builds, competitive PvP, and harder raid content. Awakening also unlocks your Stand's awakened move, activated by pressing H.

Awakening is not the same as Prestiging. Prestige is a separate system accessed through the Arch Mage NPC at TC Hospital (Bus Stop 10), which requires max level and 10,000 Cash. The two systems are unlocked independently and serve different purposes — Prestige resets your level for Prestige points and extra Stand Storage, while Awakening permanently boosts your current Stand.

Fastest Path to Awakening — Priority Checklist

TaskBest MethodApprox. Time
Reach Level 50World Events + storyline quests + boss kills (Kira)2–4 hours
Max Conjuration (100)Gym mat meditation — fight Self NPC repeatedly30–60 minutes
Beat Jotaro raidBus Stop 2, solo or duo5–10 minutes
Beat Avdol raidBus Stop 14, easily solo3–5 minutes
Beat DIO raidBus Stop 15 castle, duo recommended5–10 minutes
Complete 50 World EventsPrioritize Deathmatch events every 10–15 min8–12 hours total

The bulk of the awakening process is front-loaded with straightforward requirements — hitting level 50 and maxing Conjuration can both be done in a single session. The three raids are manageable even at modest power levels since grade doesn't matter. The real bottleneck is the 50 World Events, which is purely a time gate. Focus on joining every Deathmatch that spawns, keep your stats invested primarily in Destructive Power and Health for survivability, and the awakened Stand will follow.
