Sweet Pear Stories love letter in Where Winds Meet is still bugged

Sweet Pear Stories is one of the twelve Velvet Shade love letters tied to the Seven Mile Jasmine track in Kaifeng’s Floral Reverie. It is also the one entry that currently does not work correctly.

Players can trigger most of the Velvet Shade love letters around Reverly Hall, Springwave Pavilion, and nearby locations, then claim rewards and progression for Seven Mile Jasmine. Sweet Pear Stories behaves differently: its NPC chain appears in the world, but the interaction that should grant the love letter never fires.

How Sweet Pear Stories is supposed to start

Sweet Pear Stories belongs to the small romance subplot around Wu Hanxia, her younger brother, and Du Gantang. The intended structure mirrors other Velvet Shade encounters: meet an NPC near Velvet Shade, learn about a relationship problem, then locate a second NPC elsewhere in the region and resolve it.

In this case, the opening NPC is Wu Hanxia. She stands in the Floral Reverie area and talks about her missing brother:

  • Wu Hanxia is found south of the Springwave Pavilion teleport stone in Kaifeng.
  • When spoken to, she asks whether you have seen her younger brother Wu Jinhang, who fell in love with Du Gantang.

This conversation should flag a follow-up step where you track down the brother and, ultimately, unlock the Sweet Pear Stories love letter. That is the pattern used for the other Velvet Shade love letters: a short NPC chain plus a final item or interaction to “seal” the story.

What is currently bugged

Right now, Sweet Pear Stories breaks in two different ways, depending on how your instance of the world is behaving.

1. Wu Hanxia does not appear at all

Some players simply never see Wu Hanxia at the Springwave Pavilion courtyard, even when visiting in the correct time window. Without her, the game never registers the start of the Sweet Pear Stories chain, and there is no way to track or complete it.

In these cases, players report:

  • Empty courtyard south of the Springwave Pavilion teleport stone.
  • No dialogue prompts related to Wu Hanxia, Wu Jinhang, or Du Gantang.
  • Sweet Pear Stories still listed as missing in the Velvet Shade love letters collection.

2. The brother interaction does nothing

Other players do meet a Wu sibling near Halo Peak in Qinghe, but this also does not resolve the letter:

  • An NPC standing south of the Halo Peak teleport stone in Qinghe is often mistaken for Wu Jinhang. He is actually Wu Jinming, a separate character.
  • Talking to this NPC does not trigger any Sweet Pear Stories steps or rewards.

A few players manage to carry a flower or complete what feels like the correct set of actions for the romance, but even then, the game does not award the Sweet Pear Stories love letter, and Seven Mile Jasmine progression does not move.

Time-of-day checks that do not fix it

Some NPCs in the Floral Reverie region only appear at specific in-game hours. For Wu Hanxia, players have tried revisiting the courtyard during daytime, particularly around Chen hour, which is one of the common time gates for other NPCs near Velvet Shade.

Changing the in-game time to Chen and returning to the location can help with other side encounters, but for Sweet Pear Stories, it does not fix the underlying problem: either Wu Hanxia is not present, or speaking with the supposed brother still fails to advance the love letter.

Why Sweet Pear Stories is considered blocked content

Seven Mile Jasmine asks you to:

  • Unlock all twelve floral zones around Velvet Shade (Springwave, Nimbus, Bustling Abode, etc.).
  • Complete the Jianghu Legacy quest Shadows in Bloom and related encounters at Revelry Hall and Nimbus Tower.
  • Deliver specific items like the Peach Blossom Hair Pin, Orchid Hair Pin, Gift Book and more to particular NPCs to earn eleven love letters.
  • Obtain a twelfth love letter, Sweet Pear Stories, from the Wu Hanxia chain south of Springwave Pavilion.

Everything on that list works as intended except this final letter. Players can:

  • Finish Shadows in Bloom in Kaifeng City and earn the Blossom Barrage Inner Way.
  • Collect love letters such as Revery of Blossoms, Longevity’s Ascent, Fleeting Blossoms, Peach Blossom, Orchid, First Bloom Anticipation, Rippling Nymph, Jasmine Harp, Winter Bloom Tapestry, Celestial Peony, and Willow Blossom Ink.
  • Reach at least level 5 in Seven Mile Jasmine and unlock the 7-Day Spring Letters weekly track.

Once everything else is complete, Sweet Pear Stories is the only missing card in the collection. Since the NPC that starts it either does not appear or does not connect to a working quest state, the love letter cannot currently be earned through normal play.

What you can do while waiting for a fix

There is no reliable workaround that forces the Sweet Pear Stories flag to complete. However, you can still finish and benefit from the rest of Velvet Shade’s content.

Complete all other Velvet Shade love letters

The other eleven love letters function normally and are worth completing, both for rewards and for Seven Mile Jasmine experience. They include:

  • Revery of Blossoms – track Huiyi from Reverly Hall to the Silverflower shop and Springwave Pavilion to deliver Kbuple Wine at the Bustling Abode.
  • Longevity’s Ascent – drink with Lu Yanglang on the rooftop of Bustling Abode.
  • Fleeting Blossoms – steal a key from Mei near the pond, unlock the hidden room, and inspect all clues.
  • Peach Blossom – bring the Peach Blossom Hair Pin from Shadows in Bloom to Bai Rong at Radiant Pavilion.
  • Orchid – give the Orchid Hair Pin from the same quest to an NPC in Nimbus Tower.
  • First Bloom Anticipation – hand the Gift Book to the patrolling woman near Scarlet Imports.
  • Rippling Nymph – play music with the NPC in Spring Seeker Pavilion.
  • Jasmine Harp – learn Heavenly Silks from the musician in the building just west of Revelry Hall.
  • Winter Bloom Tapestry – speak with the tapestry seller inside Revelry Hall (usually during Shadows in Bloom).
  • Celestial Peony – talk to the dancer in Revelry Hall or earn it via Skyward Dance if the original interaction failed.
  • Willow Blossom Ink – talk to Liao at the fireworks show and accept her dialogue option.

These letters alone raise your Seven Mile Jasmine level enough to unlock:

  • The cosmetic back item tied to the floral journey.
  • Lingering Melodies, Internal Art Notes, Echo Jade, and chests from the track’s milestones.
  • Access to the 7-Day Spring Letters weekly objectives for ongoing rewards.

Finish the Seven Mile Jasmine region challenges

While Sweet Pear Stories is stalled, you can clear all non-letter tasks in the Floral Reverie region. These grant additional blossom XP and unlock more cosmetic and progression rewards.

Scarlet Imports

Scarlet Imports has three simple objectives:

  • Release a river lantern with your own wish.
  • Reply to three other players’ river lanterns.
  • Return later to answer new lanterns as needed for the weekly letters.

Silverflower shop fireworks

The Silverflower shop in Floral Reverie tracks three challenges around fireworks:

  • Purchase a red Fireburst firework and help complete the heart shape on the ground.
  • Buy multiple Spark of Spring accessories and trigger the special green version while wearing them.
  • Set off seven different types of fireworks sold at the shop, including Skyward Rockets, Blooming Fireworks, other Fireburst colors, and 24 Blossoms.

Springwave Pavilion baths and massages

Springwave Pavilion focuses on social interactions in the bathhouse area. All three objectives can be completed quickly in multiplayer.

Step 1: Use the massage mini-game on other players until you receive five tips, then confirm them via the prompt that appears after each session.

Step 2: Carry a red incense or bath ingredient into the pool, sit using the Q prompt, then have another player start a massage from the bank.

Step 3: Stay in the bath long enough to gain the Refreshed perk and mark the soak objective as complete.

Perglow Lake fireworks festival and cats

Perglow Lake combines an online event with a light exploration task:

  • Join the weekly fireworks festival (usually held on weekend evenings) and participate at least once.
  • During the event, spam chat to receive and open five red envelopes from other players.
  • Outside the festival, search around Perglow Lake for the Seven Beauties — seven cats with flowers on their heads that mark the exploration objective.

Why it still makes sense to invest in Velvet Shade content

Even with Sweet Pear Stories unresolved, the Velvet Shade and Seven Mile Jasmine systems remain valuable:

  • Blossom Barrage Inner Way from Shadows in Bloom is a strong combat tool and unlocks its own set of internal upgrades.
  • The Yaksha Rush Mystic Skill from The Promised Light, together with Meteor Flight from Afterglow and Blinding Mist from Blind to the World, gives you powerful movement and control options.
  • Seven Mile Jasmine’s weekly 7-Day Spring Letters track acts as a long-term source of Internal Art Notes, Lingering Melodies, and other high-value progression items.
  • Completing the Jianghu Legacy chain in Qinghe and Kaifeng (Echoes of Old Battles through March of the Dead) ensures you are ready for later campaigns and boss farms unlocked in Halo Peak and the Ghost Market.

For now, Sweet Pear Stories is best treated as an unfinished romance vignette sitting at the edge of an otherwise complete Floral Reverie. Once the underlying bug is patched, Wu Hanxia’s story with her brother and Du Gantang should finally resolve into the twelfth love letter, and existing Seven Mile Jasmine progress will already have you ready to claim its rewards.
