Unlock Chimera pet in Grow a Garden with Chimera Stone and ritual fusion

The Chimera is a Divine-tier pet in Grow a Garden that fuses three existing pets into a single, high-impact companion. It arrives through a small ritual built around a special Divine gear: the Chimera Stone. Getting it is less about random luck and more about assembling specific items, pets, and cosmetics, then triggering a one-time fusion in your garden.

Chimera basics and why it matters

The Chimera sits in the Divine tier of pets and was introduced with the Trader Event update. It is built from three pets that are already familiar in late-game play: Emerald Snake, Lion, and Goat. Its trait, “Chimera Powers”, combines the abilities of Lion, Goat, and Sand Snake (rather than Emerald Snake itself) with added bonuses.

Once unlocked, Chimera offers three notable passives:

Passive Interval Effect
Roar Every 13:20 minutes Advances cooldowns by 800 seconds total, split across your pets, with a cap of 80 seconds per pet.
Ram Every 8:41 minutes Charges a random player, knocks them back, and grants them a Common Egg.
Shop duplication Passive Each purchase in the seed or gear shop has a 2% chance to duplicate the bought item.

This combination makes Chimera especially valuable for speeding up other pets’ abilities and squeezing more items out of shop purchases over time.

All requirements to get the Chimera pet

Unlocking Chimera is a multi-stage process. You need:

Category Requirement Notes
Gear Chimera Stone Divine gear crafted from high-tier eggs and Sheckles.
Pets Emerald Snake Fused for Chimera; linked to Gem Egg for obtainment.
Pets Lion From the Safari Harvest / Mega Safari-type event.
Pets Goat Originally tied to the Halloween Event; typically obtained via trading now.
Cosmetics 4 light sources Any cosmetic that emits light (lamps, lanterns, etc.).
Cosmetics 1 table or stone Central object for the ritual layout.
Location Your garden All pets and cosmetics must be placed in your own garden.

Only when all of these are in place will interacting with the Chimera Stone offer the option to create the Chimera pet.

How to craft the Chimera Stone

The Chimera Stone is a Divine gear item that directly spawns a Chimera into your inventory once the ritual is fulfilled. It is crafted through the standard crafting system and has a defined recipe and timer.

Item Quantity Role in recipe
Mythical Egg 1 High-tier egg input.
Bug Egg 1 Event/bug-themed egg input.
Jungle Egg 1 Biome-specific egg input.
Gem Egg 1 Also used to roll Emerald Snake.
Sheckles 500,000,000 Currency cost.
Craft time 1 hour Time required for the gear to complete.

To craft it:

  • Go to a crafting table.
  • Select the Divine gear recipe list and locate Chimera Stone.
  • Feed in 1x Mythical Egg, 1x Bug Egg, 1x Jungle Egg, 1x Gem Egg, and 500,000,000 Sheckles.
  • Start the craft and wait the one-hour timer.

Once finished, the Chimera Stone appears in your gear inventory. On its own it does nothing until used together with the required pets and ritual setup.

How to get Lion, Goat, and Emerald Snake

The fusion requires very specific pets. They do not come from the same place, and some are no longer directly obtainable from live events.

Pet Primary obtainment Current reality
Goat Halloween Event reward No longer directly available during regular play; usually acquired through trading with other players.
Lion Sahara/Safari-type harvest event (Mega Safari harvest) Event-tied; again, trading is the realistic path if the event is not active.
Emerald Snake Gem Egg Has a stated 14% chance from Gem Egg rolls.

A few important notes from player behavior and interaction:

  • Emerald Snake can be replaced by Sand Snake variants (for example, Sand Snake or Lemon Lion equivalents of Lion) in some reported setups, but the core, supported combo is Emerald Snake + Lion + Goat.
  • Because Goat and Lion are tied to past events, banking these during active events or trading early is key for anyone planning ahead for Chimera.

Setting up the Chimera ritual in your garden

Once the Chimera Stone and all three pets are ready, the last step is a small ritual in your garden that “unlocks” the fusion UI. The game treats this as a kind of puzzle, but the requirements are consistent.

1. Place the required pets

  • Go to your garden.
  • Equip and place Goat, Lion, and Emerald Snake as active pets in the garden area.

All three must be active at the same time. They do not need special positions relative to each other; they just need to be present in your garden during the ritual.

2. Build the light-and-table layout

The Chimera ritual also checks for a specific cosmetic setup. The game only cares about categories, not exact models, which gives some flexibility.

Cosmetic Quantity Requirement Examples
Light source 4 Must emit light. Lamps, lanterns, pumpkin lanterns, similar glowing items.
Table or stone 1 Used as the central ritual object. Any table from the Cosmetics Shop; a stone-type cosmetic also works.

A common, reliable layout looks like this:

  • Place a single table or stone cosmetic at the center of an open spot in your garden.
  • Surround it with four light sources, roughly at the four corners or cardinal directions around the table.

Examples that players use successfully:

  • One long stone in the middle, four pumpkin lanterns around it.
  • One wooden table in the middle, four lamp-type cosmetics arranged in a square around it.

Exact spacing is forgiving, but all four lights must be placed and active at the same time as the table/stone.

3. Trigger the fusion with Chimera Stone

With pets and cosmetics in place, the Chimera Stone finally comes into play.

  • Equip the Chimera Stone from your gear inventory.
  • Stand near the ritual setup in your garden.
  • Use or click the Chimera Stone while targeting the central table or stone cosmetic.

If all conditions are satisfied, a confirmation dialog appears asking if you want to proceed with creating the Chimera. Confirming this:

  • Consumes the Chimera Stone.
  • Fuses Emerald Snake, Lion, and Goat into a single Chimera pet.
  • Adds Chimera directly into your pet inventory.

Tip: If the confirmation UI does not appear, double-check:

  • All three pets are active in your garden.
  • Four light sources are placed and clearly emitting light.
  • The central object is present (table or stone cosmetic), and you are targeting it correctly with the Chimera Stone equipped.

Chimera Stone behavior and status

Chimera Stone is defined as a Divine gear item with a single core effect: when used correctly, it spawns a Chimera into the player’s inventory. It does not have a cooldown or repeatable trigger beyond that; after a successful ritual, the item’s job is finished.

Key properties:

Property Value
Type Gear (Divine)
Release date November 22, 2025 (Update 1.33.0)
Effect on use Spawns a Chimera pet in the player’s inventory when fusion requirements are met.
Current status Obtainable via crafting.
Comparative gear Second gear to create a pet through fusion, after Lich Crystal.

This places Chimera Stone in a small family of late-game, ritual-centric gear items that use multiple pets and cosmetics to unlock new Divine creatures.

Once all of this is complete, Chimera becomes a permanent part of your roster: a three-headed, high-hunger Divine pet that accelerates your other pets’ cooldowns, hands out Common Eggs, and occasionally doubles your shop purchases. The bottleneck is not luck but preparation—collect the event pets, build up the egg stockpile for Chimera Stone, and set aside the cosmetics so that when you reach the late game, the fusion ritual comes together in a single, clean run.
