Unlocking and Evolving Diablo (Renacimiento) in Anime Vanguards Update 11.5

Anime Vanguards' Update 11.5, which dropped on March 22, 2026, introduced the Underworld Dungeon alongside several powerful new units. Among them, Ulquiorra — referred to in-game as Diablo — stands out as a Secret-tier unit inspired by Bleach's Ulquiorra Cifer. Diablo can be evolved into Diablo (Renacimiento), and it also supports an equippable Memoria that can itself be evolved, pushing the unit's effectiveness even further.

Quick answer: Evolve Diablo into Diablo (Renacimiento) by collecting 1× Spirit Javelin, 30× Green Essence Stone, 30× Yellow Essence Stone, 20× Pink Essence Stone, and 3× Rainbow Essence Stone, then use the evolution menu. The Spirit Javelin drops at a 10% rate from the Underworld Dungeon or costs 500 Hollow Tokens in the Dungeon Shop.

How to obtain Diablo

Before you can evolve anything, you need the base unit. There are two paths to getting Diablo, and both revolve around the Underworld Dungeon.

Step 1: Enter the Underworld Dungeon (labeled "Underworld: Infinite" in the mode select). Each time you clear it, there is a small chance Diablo drops as a reward. The exact drop rate sits around 5–10%, so expect to run it multiple times.

Step 2: If the drop doesn't come through, head to the Dungeon Shop inside the Dungeons area and purchase Diablo outright for 1,000 Hollow Tokens. You earn roughly 50 Hollow Tokens per dungeon run, so budget around 20 completions if you're buying the unit directly.

Try farming for the drop first. You'll need Hollow Tokens later for the Spirit Javelin and the Memoria, so saving them early makes the full grind shorter.

Diablo (Renacimiento) evolution materials

Once Diablo is in your inventory, you can evolve it into Diablo (Renacimiento). The evolution requires one key item — the Spirit Javelin — plus a stack of Essence Stones.

MaterialQuantityHow to Get It
Spirit Javelin110% drop from Underworld Dungeon or 500 Hollow Tokens in the Dungeon Shop
Green Essence Stone30Drop from Challenges mode
Yellow Essence Stone30Drop from Challenges mode; craftable with 3× Green Essence Stone
Pink Essence Stone20Drop from Challenges mode; craftable with 3× Green Essence Stone
Rainbow Essence Stone3Drop from Challenges mode; craftable with 1× each of Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, Red, and Yellow Essence Stone

Some evolution breakdowns also list 25,000 Gold as a cost, so make sure you have gold on hand before starting the process.

Essence Stone farming and crafting

Green Essence Stones are the backbone of the entire crafting chain. They drop directly from Challenges mode and serve as the raw ingredient for crafting most other stone types at a 3:1 ratio. If you need Yellow, Pink, Red, Blue, or Purple Essence Stones and don't have enough from drops, convert three Green Essence Stones into one of any of those colors.

Rainbow Essence Stones are the most expensive to craft. Each one requires one Blue, one Green, one Pink, one Purple, one Red, and one Yellow Essence Stone. Since the evolution demands three Rainbows, that alone eats 18 colored stones (or the equivalent in Green Essence Stones if you're crafting everything from scratch). Prioritize Challenges mode runs to stockpile Greens early.

Death Resurrected Memoria — Purchase and evolution

After evolving Diablo into its Renacimiento form, you can equip the Death Resurrected Memoria to push its power ceiling higher. The Memoria costs 500 Hollow Tokens from the Dungeon Shop. It can also be evolved with its own set of materials.

Red Essence Stone15
Green Essence Stone30
Rainbow Essence Stone2

Yes, that's a second Spirit Javelin. Between the unit evolution and the Memoria evolution, you need two total. Factor in the 1,000 Tokens for the unit itself and 500 for the Memoria, and the full Hollow Token cost — if you buy everything instead of farming drops — reaches 2,500 Tokens. At 50 Tokens per dungeon run, that's 50 runs before accounting for any lucky drops.

Diablo (Renacimiento) stats and passive abilities

The evolved form is a Secret-rarity, Nature-element unit with a placement limit of three. Its base stats after evolution look like this:

StatValue
DMG2.20K
SPA6.7s
RNG17.9

The real strength comes from three passive abilities that synergize with each other in interesting ways.

Stepping In lets you place Diablo for 0 Yen, but it must delete an existing unit within its range on placement — otherwise it deletes itself. Replacing a unit this way grants a 40% Damage buff and transfers the replaced unit's upgrade level. Placing it normally (without replacing) gives a 20% Range buff instead.

Javelin Toss scales damage based on enemy distance, using 90% of the unit's range as the baseline. Damage scales from 1% to 100% the farther the enemy is. Enemies hit at maximum distance trigger increased critical hits, and all attacks inflict Repulse.

Resurrected Body makes Diablo immune to all status debuffs. Whenever the unit is idle (not attacking), its range grows by 20% per second, stacking up to 200%. The buff resets the moment it attacks, creating a rhythm where the unit builds massive range between attack windows.

The interaction between Resurrected Body and Javelin Toss is key. The range stacking during idle periods means the next attack can reach much farther, and Javelin Toss rewards that distance with higher damage and crits.

Evolved Memoria passive effects

Equipping and evolving the Death Resurrected Memoria adds three more passives on top of the unit's existing kit.

Resurrection Evolved grants a 50% Damage buff for 60 seconds when the unit is placed. This pairs well with Stepping In's own placement bonuses.

Long Ranged Throw inflicts a 30% slow for 10 seconds on any enemy hit beyond 60% of the unit's range. Combined with Javelin Toss's distance scaling, this means enemies taking the hardest hits are also getting slowed.

Devastating Power converts any Range buff into an equivalent Damage buff. Since Resurrected Body stacks up to 200% bonus range while idle, Devastating Power effectively turns that idle time into a massive damage multiplier as well.

Total grind time estimate

Expect the full process — obtaining Diablo, evolving it, buying the Memoria, and evolving the Memoria — to take roughly a full day of active play. The bottleneck is Hollow Token farming at 50 per run. Essence Stones accumulate relatively quickly through Challenges mode, but the two Spirit Javelins (one per evolution) and the raw Token costs for shop purchases add up. If you get lucky with drops on the unit and Spirit Javelins, the timeline shortens considerably.

Diablo (Renacimiento) with its fully evolved Memoria is one of the strongest units currently available in Anime Vanguards. The combination of free placement through Stepping In, distance-based damage scaling, debuff immunity, and the Memoria's range-to-damage conversion makes it a top-tier pick for raids and special events alike.
