Incomplete Resurrection is the midpoint of the Hollow/Arrancar progression path in Paradox. It grants you access to one move from your Resurrection moveset — a preview of the full power you'll eventually unlock. Before you can start the questline, you need to be in your Arrancar form and have accumulated at least 200 Potential.
Quick answer: Talk to the DevAidxen NPC inside Hueco Mundo castle with 200+ Potential, then complete his three quests — kill a Fishbone, grip 5 Shinigami players, and solve a five-lever pattern puzzle — to receive Incomplete Resurrection.

Prerequisite — 200 Potential
You cannot begin the Incomplete Resurrection questline until your character has at least 200 Potential. There are two easy ways to check your current Potential. You can talk to the Julian NPC in Karakura Town, or you can exit to the main menu and look at your character slot screen, where Potential is displayed right behind your Clan stat. If you're below 200, grind missions until you hit the threshold — it shouldn't take long.
Finding the DevAidxen NPC
DevAidxen is located inside a room in the Hueco Mundo castle. Press the comma key (,) on your keyboard to toggle NPC location pointers on your screen. Follow the Arrancar Hub or Mysterious Person NPC pointer toward the castle, and the DevAidxen pointer will appear once you're close enough. Head up the staircase at the back of the room to find him.

Quest 1 — Kill the Fishbone
When you speak to DevAidxen, he spawns a special Fishbone Hollow somewhere on the map. Your job is to track it down and kill it before anyone else does. On-screen clues will appear as you get closer — messages like "You're getting closer" or similar proximity hints. The Fishbone tends to spawn near the walls of the map or inside the Menos Forest pit, so check those areas first.
The Fishbone has noticeably more health than a regular Hollow, so expect it to take extra hits. If another player kills it before you reach it, you'll need to return to DevAidxen and have him spawn a new one. Once you land the killing blow on the correct Fishbone, you'll see the message "You have found me.." on your screen. Head back to DevAidxen to pick up the second quest.

Quest 2 — Grip 5 Shinigami Players
DevAidxen's second task is a PvP objective. You need to find and grip five Shinigami (Soul Reaper) players. Because this depends on encountering opposing-faction players who are willing — or unable — to fight back, it can be the trickiest step.
If you're having trouble finding Shinigami players in public servers, the simplest workaround is to ask a friend to join your server on a Shinigami character and let you grip them five times. There's no penalty for doing it this way, and it saves a significant amount of time. Once all five grips are registered, return to DevAidxen for the final quest.

Quest 3 — Solve the Five-Lever Pattern
Step 1: Go to Hueco Mundo castle and meditate. Press N on your keyboard (or left D-pad on controller) to begin meditating. Find a safe spot where other players won't interrupt you. After a few minutes — sometimes less — you'll be teleported into an inner-world area.
Step 2: Inside this room, you'll see five levers in front of a massive door. Each lever can be toggled forward or backward. You need to find the correct combination of lever positions to open the door. There are no hints given; you have to experiment by flipping levers and checking whether the door reacts. The pattern may differ between players, so there's no universal solution to memorize.

Step 3: Once you hit the right pattern, the door slides down. Walk through it and climb the stairs to find a glowing Inner Self NPC. Talk to this NPC to receive your Incomplete Resurrection.

What Incomplete Resurrection gives you
Incomplete Resurrection unlocks a single move from your full Resurrection moveset. It's essentially a taste of the power you'll gain later. The remaining two moves become available only after you obtain the full Resurrection, which requires 605 Potential and a separate five-part questline involving Shattered Hogyokus, Raid or Ranked wins, a parry test, Hogyoku charging, and a boss fight against your own Resurrection form.
Common issues and how to check your progress
| Problem | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| DevAidxen won't give you the quest | Potential is below 200 | Grind missions until you reach 200; check via Julian NPC or main menu |
| Fishbone killed by another player | Someone else reached it first | Talk to DevAidxen again to respawn it |
| Can't find the Fishbone | Random spawn location | Check Menos Forest pit and map walls first; watch for on-screen proximity clues |
| No Shinigami players in server | Low server population or same-faction players | Ask a friend to join on a Shinigami character |
| Meditation doesn't teleport you | Haven't waited long enough | Stay meditating for up to five minutes in a safe area |
Incomplete Resurrection is a mandatory stepping stone on the Arrancar progression path. Once you've cleared DevAidxen's three quests and claimed your first move, the next goal is pushing your Potential to 605 and tackling the full Resurrection questline to unlock the complete moveset for your build.
