“Where Art Thou My Love” is an early Exploration Mission in Arknights: Endfield set in Valley IV’s Valley Pass. It mixes light story beats with some basic infrastructure work, asking you to track down Rosa’s missing partner and decide what to tell her about what you find.
Quest basics and unlock conditions
The mission is treated as an Exploration Mission in version 1.0 and takes place in Valley Pass, a sub-area of Valley IV.
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Quest name | Where Art Thou My Love |
| Type | Exploration / side mission |
| Region | Valley IV → Valley Pass |
| Quest giver | Rosa |
| Primary objective | Find Rosa’s lover (Romano) and bring back his watch |
There are two distinct progression gates mentioned for when this mission becomes available:
- Authority Level requirement – The mission unlocks after reaching Authority Level 15.
- Main story requirement – You need to have advanced far enough in Valley IV to freely access Valley Pass again, which includes completing the main mission “Building an Outpost” and defeating the local boss Rhodagn so Valley Pass reopens.
Once those conditions are met, the mission appears when you enter Valley Pass through the Passage Entrance from the south.

Where to find Rosa and start the mission
Rosa stands near the Passage Entrance section of Valley Pass, on the road that leads toward the Valley Transfer. She walks along the right side of the path and is marked with a side-mission icon, so she’s easy to spot when you come in from the Hub side of Valley IV.
Step 1: Enter Valley Pass from the Hub side, moving over the bridge into the Passage Entrance. Look along the right-hand side of the road until you see Rosa pacing back and forth with a quest marker above her.
Step 2: Talk to Rosa. She explains that her partner, Romano, is missing and asks you to find him. After the conversation, your map is updated with a marker pointing to his last known location deeper inside Valley Pass.

Preparation: Open Valley Pass Outpost and bring Relay Towers
The mission uses Valley Pass’s infrastructure systems, particularly an Electric Nexus and a jump pad, to reach Romano’s location. Before heading out, two things matter:
- Valley Pass Outpost access: The Electric Nexus you need is linked to the camp infrastructure. Opening the Valley Pass Outpost by finishing the “Building an Outpost” main mission ensures that the relevant Sub-PAC and power network are available.
- Relay Towers in your backpack: You must connect the Electric Nexus to a power source using a chain of Relay Towers. Plan to carry around 4–6 Relay Towers, which is enough to bridge the gap from the nearest Sub-PAC or from the Hub bridge depending on your build approach.
The Relay Towers and power routing are what actually turn on the jump pad that lets you reach Romano’s shelter.

Route overview: From Passage Entrance to Romano
The mission splits into two layers of traversal:
- A ground-level combat route inside Valley Pass that leads you toward the Landbreaker herd and the Electric Nexus.
- A power-routing route where you place Relay Towers to connect the Electric Nexus to a Sub-PAC or to the Hub bridge network, so the jump pad activates.
The objective marker points to a makeshift shelter above a group of Landbreaker enemies. Romano is hiding inside shipping containers in that shelter, which you can only reach after powering the nearby Electric Nexus and using its jump pad.
Walkthrough: Reaching Romano and getting the watch
Phase 1: Push into Valley Pass and secure the lower area
Step 1: Track the objective marker from Rosa’s location. Move straight ahead into Valley Pass until you reach structures and a warehouse-like building near a herd of Landbreaker enemies.
Step 2: Turn sharply right as you near the warehouse to stay aligned with the marker. As you step into the designated area, Fiona remarks that “someone has fled up there,” hinting that Romano climbed to a higher level.
Step 3: Clear all enemies in the lower zone, especially those around the Landbreakers and any staircases or ramps. Treat this as a full sweep; leaving enemies alive can complicate traversal and may block certain triggers like chest unlocks or access paths.

Step 4: Look for a staircase in one of the corners of this combat zone and head up. Continue climbing and dealing with small groups of enemies as you go higher.
Step 5: Keep moving upward until you reach what looks like a dead-end platform with more enemies and usually a chest behind them. Eliminate every enemy here to fully secure the area; this platform is effectively the jumping-off point for the next traversal tool.
Phase 2: Power the Electric Nexus and activate the jump pad
The Electric Nexus controls a jump pad that takes you up to Romano’s shelter. If it is already powered from your broader Valley IV infrastructure, the pad will be active. If not, you need to route power into it during this mission.
Step 1: From the upper platform, find the jump pad that is physically linked to an Electric Nexus nearby. Try interacting with the pad. If it is active, you can skip power routing and use it immediately.

Step 2: If the pad is inactive, trace the Electric Nexus connected to it. You need to connect this Nexus to a power source. There are two functional setups described in the mission context:
- Connecting the Nexus back toward the Refugee Camp’s Sub-PAC within Valley Pass.
- Running a chain of Relays from the bridge area in the Hub (the bridge that leads into Valley Pass) to this electric node.
Step 3: Choose your route. The Refugee Camp’s Sub-PAC path is described as straightforward and is usually closer if you have already built around the camp. In either case, place Relay Towers one by one to create an unbroken line between the Sub-PAC or existing powered node and the Electric Nexus.
Step 4: Use 4–6 Relay Towers to span any gaps in the terrain between the power source and the Nexus. Ensure each Relay Tower is within connection range of the previous one so power flows all the way to the Nexus.

Step 5: Once the Electric Nexus shows as powered, the linked jump pad becomes functional. There is also a grapple point tied to the Nexus that can help you reach it quickly if you have that traversal unlocked, but it is optional for this mission.
Step 6: Return to the jump pad near the enemies and interact with it. The pad launches you up to the balcony or upper level where the makeshift shelter is built.
Phase 3: Find Romano in the makeshift shelter
Step 1: After landing from the jump pad, move straight ahead toward the shelter structures above the Landbreaker area. This section is made up of shipping containers and improvised cover.
Step 2: Approach the containers and look for an interact prompt. Romano is hiding inside one of these containers. When you interact, a short cutscene plays where he speaks with your party.
Step 3: During the conversation, Romano hands over Romano’s watch and asks you to bring it back to Rosa. He specifically tells you to say that he is dead, rather than explaining the truth of his situation.
At this point, the exploration portion is complete. The only remaining task is to return to Rosa and decide what to tell her.

Ending the mission: What to tell Rosa
Step 1: Use fast travel or backtrack down through Valley Pass to the Passage Entrance, where you first met Rosa.
Step 2: Talk to Rosa and hand over Romano’s watch. She asks what happened to him, which gives you two dialogue options:
- Tell her that Romano is dead. This follows the message Romano asked you to deliver. Rosa says she will go retrieve his body.
- Tell her that Romano is leaving her. This reflects the reality of his choice rather than his request. Rosa decides to go find him anyway.
Both dialogue paths lead to the same functional outcome: Rosa leaves to search for Romano, and the mission ends. There is no indication of branching rewards or long-term mechanical consequences here; the choice is primarily narrative.

Quest rewards and mission summary
Finishing “Where Art Thou My Love” provides a small but useful bundle of early-game resources along with regional progress.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| T-Creds | 1350 |
| Oroberyl | 25 |
| Intermediate Combat Record | 6 |
| Arms INSP Kit | 6 |
| EXP (account / exploration) | 100 |
The mission also counts toward regional Exploration Mission completion in Valley IV → Valley Pass, contributes to your overall progress, and introduces a few systems you will see repeatedly:
- Using Relay Towers and Sub-PACs to power Electric Nexus nodes.
- Relying on jump pads and vertical design rather than trying to push straight toward a marker on one elevation.
- Handling a small narrative choice that shapes how NPCs perceive a situation without altering the core reward structure.
If the objective marker ever seems to sit “inside” terrain while you are working on this mission, treat that as a signal to change elevation rather than trying to run directly toward it. Look for staircases, platforms, and traversal devices such as jump pads, grapples, or ziplines. Clearing each combat pocket fully before looking for the next path keeps these triggers reliable and reduces backtracking.
