Where to Find Bigfoot in Fortnite Chapter 7

Bigfoot has returned to Fortnite as a mysterious NPC in Chapter 7 Season 1, but finding the creature is far from straightforward. Unlike traditional NPCs tied to specific locations, Bigfoot wanders across the island with no guaranteed spawn point, making each encounter feel genuinely elusive.

Quick answer: Bigfoot most commonly appears near Tiptop Terrace in the northwestern corner of the map, particularly around Redwood Forest Park, though it can spawn at various boss locations across the island.

Primary location and patrol areas

Bigfoot favors the Tiptop Terrace region, specifically within Redwood Forest Park. The dense forest setting matches the creature's natural habitat, and players report frequent sightings in this secluded area with tall trees. However, this is not a guaranteed location—Bigfoot can appear elsewhere on the map, making it more of a preferred zone than a fixed spawn point.

Since the February 5 update, Bigfoot transitioned from a special viewing-only NPC to a full boss character. This change expanded its possible locations significantly. Before the update, approaching the creature near Tiptop Terrace would cause it to vanish immediately. Now it operates under boss spawn mechanics, rotating between multiple possible locations each match.

Boss spawn locations across the map

Bigfoot can now appear at any of these eight confirmed boss spawn zones:

  • East of Sus Studios
  • Ripped Tides
  • Close to Wonkeeland
  • Classified Canyon
  • Latte Landing
  • At Humble Hills
  • On the hill east of Humble Hills
  • Painted Palms

The creature rotates between these spots with no predictable pattern. Checking each location manually remains the most reliable method for tracking it down, though this requires significant travel time across the island.

How to spot Bigfoot when nearby

Once you're in the general vicinity of a boss, a skull icon with a crown appears on your minimap. This marker only becomes visible when you're fairly close to the creature—you cannot see it from across the map. The icon updates as Bigfoot moves around the nearby area, allowing you to track its position once you've triggered the proximity detection.

Bringing a scoped weapon helps identify Bigfoot from a distance before committing to an approach. The creature's distinctive appearance makes visual confirmation straightforward once you spot it.

What happens when you encounter Bigfoot

Bigfoot is completely immune to all damage. Weapons, throwables, and melee attacks have no effect on the creature. If you get too close, Bigfoot will vanish instantly, disappearing from the area entirely. This behavior differs from other bosses, which can be engaged in combat.

The creature serves primarily as an Easter egg rather than a functional gameplay element. Currently, Bigfoot has no direct quest purpose or mechanical interaction beyond being a rare sighting to discover. It simply wanders the landscape as a mysterious presence on the map.

Finding it efficiently

Approach the area with stealth and caution to avoid triggering the instant despawn from close proximity. Maintaining distance while using a scoped weapon to observe the creature gives you the best chance at a prolonged encounter. Snapping a screenshot once you spot Bigfoot serves as proof of the sighting before it disappears.

Since Bigfoot's spawn location is random each match, expect to search multiple games before encountering it. The creature's elusiveness is intentional—it's designed as a rare discovery rather than a repeatable objective.
