Everstone Studio has just rolled out its much-anticipated update, titled 'Timeless Bonds', bringing Where Winds Meet to version 1.1. The update adds new content, several quality-of-life improvements, and even extends support to a new platform. Whether you're jumping back into the game or starting fresh, here's everything you can expect in the update.
New Region Unlocked: Roaring Sands
Version 1.1 unlocks a new area, named Roaring Sands, expanding the Kaifeng region in the northwest. Available on December 11, 2025, Roaring Sands will allow players to explore the area, which previously only appeared on the map but was inaccessible.
New Story Content
New campaign quest arcs have been added to the game, building upon the already rich lore of the game. These include the 'Dragons Appear', 'Legend of the River Master', and 'Death of the True Dragon'. The new campaigns will take place in the newly unlocked Roaring Sands area. Players will need to reach Roaring Sands in Kaifeng to unlock the River Master campaign.
New World Boss
Players can challenge the new World Boss Feng Ruzhi, which will expand on the game's narrative and combat challenges.
New Sect: Velvet Shade
The number of sects that players can join is also expanding, with Velvet Shade now becoming a playable option. Joining the sect will provide players access to its discipline and sect reputation systems. Additionally, they can increase the sect ranking and discover its hidden rules by completing the 'Jianghu Legacy: Shadows in Bloom' quest.
As per the official release notes, players will be able to visit the Velvet Shade shop in Langfeng Garden and exchange sect items, including appearances.
New Gameplay: Gossip Paper
Gossip Paper is a new gameplay element that will let players unentangle lies and discover hidden truths. Track clues and learn secrets while also using truths and lies to your own advantage.
To unlock Gossip Paper, you will need to have unlocked the Kaifeng region by progressing 'New Arrival in Kaifeng - First Arrival' chapter. You can check the tavern and tea stall tables in the Kaifeng region and around it to access it. Alternatively, speak with paperboys in South Gate Avenue in Kaifeng City or at Harborlink Crossing in the Granary of Plenty. Another method to access Gossip Paper is through the Eastern Herald Wandering Paths.
New Challenge: Taiping Mausoleum
A new Path Trial has been added in Taiping Mausoleum. To access it, you need to clear Floor 8 in the Foundation Trials. Every Friday, during the weekly maintenance schedule, player attempts will be reset. As players clear higher floors, the rewards also get better. Some rewards you can grab include the Politely Decline Pose, Arena Weapon Rack Decoration, and Jianghu Inscription, among others.
Platform Expansion: Where Winds Meet Comes To Mobile
Besides adding new content and gameplay features, version 1.1, the update, finally brings Where Winds Meet to mobile platforms. Both iOS and Android users can now experience the epic RPG, starting December 12, 2025. The scheduled download and launch timings are as follows:
- Mobile Pre-Download Time: December 10, 2025, 16:00 (UTC)
- Mobile Server Launch Time: December 12, 2025, 00:00:00 (UTC)
Fireworks Event
To celebrate the launch of the update and the upcoming New Year, a new Fireworks event will run from December 11, 2025, to January 3, 2026. To participate in the event, players need to unlock the Event Center. Doing that requires reaching Level 5 and completing the Qinghe main chapter, Another New Wing.
Once the Event Center is unlocked, the 'Fresh Wind, New Year' quests will become available on December 11, 14, and 30, 2025. You can learn more about gameplay and exchange rewards and achievements by completing the event quests. Rewards, such as Lingering Melody, Timeless Bonds Hero Title, Horse-Face, and Ox-Head appearances, will be available via the limited-time event shop.
Limited-Time Event: The Great Faceologist
The Great Faceologist is a limited-time customization-focused event that will run from December 11, 2025, to December 31, 2025. Again, you will need to have completed the Qinghe main chapter and reached Level 5 to participate. After unlocking the Event Center, access The Great Faceologist via the Gallery portal or the event page. You can also create a character and tag it with 'The Great Faceologist' to take part in the event.
New Appearances and Bug Fixes
New appearances have also been added with version 1.1, along with several bug fixes and optimizations. You can check the details on the official page. Also, compensation for players for the December 9, 2025, maintenance has been added.
