Where Winds Meet: How to Complete Road to Redemption

Road to Redemption overview

Road to Redemption is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that links Qinghe’s Halo Peak with the Bodhi Sea combat zone. There are no quest markers, so the quest hinges on two things:

  • Locating the monk Daohui on Halo Peak.
  • Finding the quest item “Illegible Final Note” in the Bodhi Sea and bringing it back.

Finishing the tale awards Echo Jade, coins, Qinghe exploration progress, experience, and a Polished Mirror player avatar.

How to start Road to Redemption (find Daohui on Halo Peak)

Step 1: Travel to Halo Peak in Qinghe. Use the Halo Peak Boundary Stone or any nearby teleport, then ride or glide up toward the main tower area.

Step 2: From the upper structures, head down toward the cliffside terraces below the Fate Incense Burner. Daohui is not on the very top of Halo Peak; he is on a lower ledge.

Step 3: Look for a small Buddha statue set against the mountain wall in the shade. Daohui is the monk standing facing the rock wall, reciting scriptures.

Step 4: Speak with Daohui. He talks about repenting for past sins tied to the Pagoda of Karmaful Karma in the Bodhi Sea and hints that he is missing a final note. This conversation quietly starts the Wandering Tale, even though no traditional quest entry or marker appears.

Where to find the Illegible Final Note in Bodhi Sea

The entire quest turns on a single scroll: the Illegible Final Note. It lies in Yongfu Temple at the heart of the Bodhi Sea combat zone and can be easy to miss among enemies and ruins.

Reaching Yongfu Temple in Bodhi Sea

Step 1: Open the map and locate the Bodhi Sea region east of Halo Peak. If you have already cleared the Bodhi Sea campaign and unlocked its Boundary Stone, you will see a red umbrella-shaped teleport icon in the swamp.

Step 2: If you have the Bodhi Sea teleport, use it. It drops you in the middle of Yongfu Temple, next to a large drum in the main courtyard.

Step 3: If you do not have the teleport yet, ride or run to the Bodhi Sea entrance from Qinghe and use the wooden bog bridges to cross the swamp toward the central ruined temple complex. Your goal is the main pagoda and its surrounding buildings in the center of the area.

Exact Illegible Final Note location

Yongfu Temple has several ruined structures, but the note is placed at the front of the central building.

Step 1: From the Bodhi Sea teleport (or the central courtyard), face the large drum that sits roughly in the middle of the temple grounds. Turn your character around 180 degrees so the drum is behind you.

Step 2: Look toward the stone steps that lead up into the main temple building. This is effectively the southern entrance if you think of the complex on a map, with the swamp and wooden bridge further beyond.

Step 3: Walk up to the base of those steps and activate Wind Sense (V on keyboard by default). The Illegible Final Note is a small glowing scroll lying on the ground directly in front of the doorway, slightly to one side between the vertical and angled wooden support pillars.

Step 4: If you are struggling to see it, look for any Assist Signposts outside this entrance. The note is placed right next to them on the stone platform leading into the hall.

Pick up the Illegible Final Note to flag it as a quest item. No additional interaction is needed in Bodhi Sea; the tale continues once you return to Halo Peak.

Returning the Illegible Final Note to Daohui

Step 1: Open the map and travel back to Qinghe, then teleport to Halo Peak again.

Step 2: Descend to the same terrace where Daohui faces the rock wall and the small Buddha statue.

Step 3: Talk to Daohui and hand over the Illegible Final Note. The monk will acknowledge the note’s connection to his past at the Pagoda of Karmaful Karma and bring his vigil to a close.

Step 4: The Wandering Tale Road to Redemption completes immediately after this conversation, with rewards granted on the spot.

How Road to Redemption ties into Bodhi Sea

Daohui’s regret points back to the Pagoda of Karmaful Karma at Yongfu Temple, which doubles as the centerpiece of the Bodhi Sea campaign. If you have already cleared that combat zone and unlocked its teleport, Road to Redemption becomes a quick cleanup objective that reuses a familiar location.

If you have not yet entered Bodhi Sea, the Wandering Tale effectively nudges you toward that region, forcing you to pick a safe route across the swamp, learn the layout of Yongfu Temple, and notice details like Assist Signposts and Wind Sense cues to find small quest items.

There are no extra bosses or additional fights required exclusively for this tale. Any combat you meet in Bodhi Sea is part of the zone’s normal enemy population or campaign encounters, not a dedicated Road to Redemption step.

Once Road to Redemption is finished, Daohui’s vigil at Halo Peak ends, your Qinghe exploration increases, and Bodhi Sea becomes a little easier to navigate for future quests that also point back at Yongfu Temple.
