Where Winds Meet trophy guide: how to unlock every achievement

Where Winds Meet splits its progression between in-game achievements (tied to Echo Jade and cosmetics) and platform trophies or badges. On PC, the clearest trophy-style list is the 34 Epic Games achievements, which capture the main beats of story, combat, gear growth, and exploration. Alongside that, the in-game Achievements system is far broader, covering almost every activity you can touch in Jianghu.

This explainer focuses on three things: what the 34 Epic achievements actually want from you, how they map to the game’s systems, and which bigger in-game Achievement categories you’ll naturally progress while chasing them.

Where Winds Meet trophy list (Epic Games, 34 achievements)

The Epic Games version exposes a compact, trophy-like list worth 1,000 XP in total. These 34 objectives fall into five broad groups:

  • Main story campaigns and endings
  • Boss kills and time challenges
  • Character and gear progression
  • Exploration and collectibles in Qinghe and Kaifeng
  • Combat mastery and weapon styles

Here’s the list in one place, grouped by what you actually do.

Hidden Achievement (x4) Unspecified challenges (combat / story) 3×15, 1×60

Those hidden entries are present in the Epic backend but don’t publish descriptions. They are still required for the “The Hero is the Voice of the World” meta-achievement, so treat your 100% run as if nothing is optional.

Campaign and story trophies: clear the big arcs first

The cleanest route to most story-related trophies is to play through the regional campaigns in the order the game naturally pushes you:

  • Qinghe’s main story, ending in The Final Destiny – Qinghe
  • Standalone campaigns: Halo Peak, Jinming Pool, Palace of Annals, Still Shore, and Heavenfall

Each named campaign has a dedicated achievement triggered on completion. Nothing in these descriptions suggests branching conditions or missable routes – finish the instance on any allowed difficulty and the relevant achievement pops.

The First Finding asks for a Dark Surge story. In practice, that means collecting Light and Shadow fragments in a region until the corresponding Dark Surge entry unlocks in the Journal. If you’re aggressively clearing exploration icons while working through Qinghe’s quests, this tends to fall out naturally.

Tip: Treat each campaign as something to fully clear before fast-traveling away. Boss speedrun trophies like Speedrun in Granary are tied to those same instances and are easier while you still remember the mechanics.

Boss and time-attack trophies: what you’re racing against

Four achievements are explicitly about specific bosses and time limits:

  • Broken Spear Victory – kill the Nameless General once
  • Mighty Wolf Rider – kill Wolf Maiden once
  • Victory in the Abyss – defeat The Void King within 60 seconds
  • Speedrun in Granary – defeat Zheng E within 180 seconds

The first two are straightforward kill flags with no timing component: you only have to win the fight, even if it takes multiple attempts. The latter two are time challenges. The descriptions don’t state difficulty restrictions, so you can optimize builds and come back later once your Solo Mode level and gear are stronger.

Practical prep for these timed fights lines up with standard character growth:

  • Raise your gear enhancements (for Echoes Unbound anyway).
  • Pick a main Martial Style and push it toward Lv. 30 for Skill at Hand.
  • Slot burst-oriented Internal Arts so you can front-load damage and stagger phases.

Boss-focused in-game Achievements in the “Masterful” category go much further, asking for no-hit runs, specific parries, and phase-specific condition clears (for example, never being hit by certain named attacks). Those do not currently map 1:1 to Epic achievements, but they are worth tracking if you want full Echo Jade and cosmetic rewards, not just platform XP.

Progression trophies: leveling, enhancing, and Internal Arts

Four trophies form the backbone of character growth on paper:

  • Skill at Hand – upgrade a Martial Style to Lv. 30.
  • First Resonance – enhance one gear piece to Lv. 2.
  • Echoes Unbound – reach average enhancement level 5 across all gear slots.
  • Perfect Harmony – tune one Epic (purple) gear piece to its maximum tuning level.

In practice, all four hinge on the same currency loop: farm materials through Campaigns, Outpost Challenges, Trial Challenges, World Bosses, and chest routes, then spend them at the enhancement interface. The level-up and Breakthrough system sets the ceiling.

The Solo Mode level is soft-capped every 10 levels by a Breakthrough requirement. To keep gaining stats, you have to:

  • Open the pause menu and move to the Solo Mode page.
  • Select Solo Mode Level to see the current Breakthrough tier (Emerging, Observe, Roaming, etc.) and its requirements.
  • Complete the associated Trial once you meet those requirements to unlock the next 10-level band.

There are currently 11 Breakthrough ranks, from Level 2 “Emerging” through Level 11 “Beyond Mortal”, and the hard cap on character level is 95. The progression trophies do not require hitting that cap, but they become substantially easier after a couple of Breakthroughs because your base stats and enhancement access improve.

The other key progression trophy on Epic is Power of Four, which simply checks that you have four Internal Arts equipped. The in-game Achievements under “Path of Growth” and “Jianghu Sects” take this much further, rewarding you for:

  • Equipping four Internal Arts (mirroring Power of Four).
  • Obtaining at least ten different Internal Arts.
  • Completing sect skill-theft challenges for weapons like Panacea Fan, Inkwell Fan, Heavenquaker Spear, and Strategic Sword.

Those sect challenges also tie into Epic trophies like Healing Hands and The Grand Strategist, which trigger when you fully master Panacea Fan and Strategic Sword, respectively.

Exploration and collectible trophies: Qinghe and Kaifeng

A big chunk of the trophy workload lives in two regions: Qinghe and Kaifeng. The Epic list keeps its demands modest compared to the in-game tracker, but it still pushes you to do real exploration.

Chests and Oddities

For chests, Epic only cares about hitting 40 in each city:

  • Every Inch Covered – Qinghe – collect 40 chests in Qinghe.
  • Every Inch Covered – Kaifeng – Collect 40 chests in Kaifeng.

Inside the game’s “Worldly Wanderings II” series, that same system goes much deeper. For example, Qinghe’s chest route tracks thresholds at 20, 40, and roughly 560+ chests, and Kaifeng eventually asks for over 650. If you care about 100% completion in the in-game Achievements screen, it’s worth using the Journal map filters to methodically clear chests beyond what Epic requires. If you only want platform XP, the early 40-chest milestones are easy to reach just by cleaning up while you follow main quests.

Oddities work similarly:

  • Quick on the Uptake – Qinghe – 150 Oddities.
  • Quick on the Uptake – Kaifeng – 250 Oddities.

“Oddities” here are miscellaneous world activities: small puzzles, one-off interactions, mini-events, and similar. The in-game Achievements again have higher thresholds (150 and 250 are already used in that schema), but the Epic trophies cap there.

Encounters and high points

Two more exploration-focused trophies:

  • Quirks of Fate – Qinghe – complete 3 Encounters in Qinghe.
  • Quirks of Fate – Kaifeng – complete 3 Encounters in Southeast Kaifeng.

Encounters are the named, one-off storylets you find in the open world. The “Chronicles of Martial Arts” category includes parallel goals like finishing all Encounters in a region. If you’re hunting trophies, you can stop after three in each; if you’re filling out hero titles and Echo Jade rewards, expect to clear every Encounter marker the Journal exposes.

The last pair in this cluster are verticality checks:

  • Horizon Seeker – climb to the top of Moonveil Mountain Tower in Qinghe.
  • King of the Stage – reach the highest platform of Beast Reverie in Kaifeng’s Fair Ground.

These same locations are used by in-game Achievements (“Summit of Qinghe”, “Pinnacle of Performances”), so marking them off once covers both systems.

Puzzles and side activities: Meow Meow and Dark Surge

The Meow Meow cat puzzles are the only side activity called out directly in the Epic trophy list:

  • Paws on Point – Qinghe – solve 10 Meow Meow Puzzles in Qinghe.
  • Feline Riddler – Kaifeng – solve 5 Meow Meow Puzzles in Kaifeng.

In the in-game “Worldly Wanderings III” track, those thresholds scale up to 40–50 solves per city and layer in achievements for petting cats, completing Meow Meow-specific minigames, and finishing the whole set in each region. The Epic achievements are essentially early milestones along that bigger curve.

The First Finding is the other side-activity-related trophy. It fires when you unlock your first Dark Surge story in the Light and Shadow journal. Mechanically, that means collecting enough fragment nodes tied to a Dark Surge chain in a region. Some of the “Chronicles of Martial Arts” achievements further down the in-game list then push you to unlock all Dark Surge info for Qinghe and see the final regional ending, which synergizes with The Final Destiny – Qinghe.

How the full in-game Achievements grid fits in

The Epic trophies are only the surface layer. Where Winds Meet’s own Achievements screen is much more granular and is organized into named categories that line up with playstyles:

  • Myriad Manifestations – social play, tavern modes, mini-games, odd mishaps (lighting strikes, explosive barrels).
  • Love and Vengeance – PvP bounties, nemesis deaths, jail time, chat usage, pitch pot duels.
  • Chronicles of Martial Arts – campaigns, Encounters, Dark Surge arcs, final endings by region.
  • Path of Growth – skill levels, enhancement averages, Internal Arts.
  • Jianghu Sects / Jianghu Career – sect promotions, medical practice, sect-specific challenges.
  • Life Skills – fishing species, fish length milestones, tree-ramming, tool usage.
  • Erudite Explorer – Compendium completion categories like Plants, Mystic Arts, Ancient Scores.
  • The Ways of Life – fashion sets, mounts, crimes for prison logs, appearance collection.
  • Everything at the Jianghu – Arena ranks, Trial Challenges (Hard/Abyss), Taiping Mausoleum stars.
  • Masterful – highly specific boss-encounter conditions and no-hit variants.
  • Divine Craftsmanship – housing/construction component placement.
  • Worldly Wanderings I–III – Anecdotes, Boundary Stones, Universal Harmonies, cats, fishing contests, heal events, Gift of Gab, Mahjong, Jade Grove Garden.
  • Flashing Blades – sparring outcomes with notable NPCs.

None of these internal categories is directly exposed as platform trophies on Epic or console yet, but they’re where most Echo Jade comes from, and they gate a lot of cosmetics (titles, outfits, hats, toys, decorations). If you play long enough to clear all 34 Epic achievements, you’ll already have deep progress across many of them, particularly:

  • “Path of Growth” – from Martial Style level 30, enhancement averages, Epic gear tuning, and Internal Arts.
  • “Chronicles of Martial Arts” – from finishing named campaigns and Qinghe’s final ending.
  • “Worldly Wanderings I–III” – from chest counts, Oddities, Encounters, Meow Meow puzzles, high points.
  • “Masterful” – from repeated boss attempts while going for timed kills and optional challenges.
Tip: treat the Epic trophies as a skeleton and the in-game Achievements as the muscle layered over it. If you route your play around campaigns, chest sweeps, Oddity circuits, and high-value bosses, you’ll naturally tick both systems at the same time instead of grinding them independently.

If your goal is a “platinum-style” clear on PC, the checklist is simple but demanding: finish every named Campaign, max at least one strong Epic gear piece, push your average enhancements into the mid-range, fully explore Qinghe and Kaifeng’s early thresholds for chests and Oddities, and clean up the named bosses and timed challenges. The in-game Achievements grid shows exactly how far you’ve gone beyond that. The last achievement on the Epic list – The Hero is the Voice of the World – is nothing more and nothing less than proof you’ve done it all.
