Season 7 hero schedule

Marvel Rivals Season 7, subtitled "The Hunt Is On," splits its hero releases across two halves. The full season runs from March 20 through May 22, 2026, with the midseason update landing on April 17. Each half introduces one new playable character.

White Fox's role was confirmed during Dev Vision Vol. 15, where the development team walked through her kit and the season's narrative setup. Black Cat's exact role has not been officially announced yet, though her prominent placement on the Times Square wanted poster and in-game teases have been building anticipation for weeks.

White Fox — Strategist with a nine-tailed fox Ultimate

White Fox is Ami Han, the director of South Korea's Tiger Division and a kumiho — a fox spirit drawn from Korean folklore. In Marvel Rivals, she fills the Strategist slot with a toolkit that covers healing, crowd control, mobility, buffs, debuffs, and direct damage. Her Ultimate transforms her into her true nine-tailed fox form, and she can instantly assist allies from across the map.

She launches with a new Team-Up called Blessing of the Kumiho, pairing her with Luna Snow. This replaces the previous Duality Dance Team-Up between Adam Warlock and Luna Snow, which is being removed in the Season 7.0 patch. A second new Team-Up, Cosmic Cyclone, pairs Storm with Adam Warlock and replaces the retired Jeff-Nado combo.

White Fox's arrival ties directly into the season's story. She infiltrates a locked-down New York to rescue Luna Snow after Mayor Wilson Fisk arrests heroes from various timelines and hires Black Cat to steal a mysterious stone tablet.

Black Cat — Season 7.5's second hero

Felicia Hardy, better known as Black Cat, joins the roster when Season 7.5 goes live on April 17. The Dev Vision presentation and the season trailer both confirmed her as the second playable addition, though her full ability breakdown hasn't been revealed yet. In Marvel Comics, Black Cat is a skilled thief with superhuman agility and a "bad luck" aura that causes misfortune for her enemies — a power set that could translate into interesting debuff mechanics in-game.

Her role classification remains unannounced. Community speculation has ranged from Duelist to Vanguard after fans noticed her Times Square wanted poster listed a height of 7'5", but that measurement is almost certainly a stylistic choice rather than a gameplay hint. A Duelist classification would be the most straightforward fit given her combat-focused comic book abilities.

Season 7 story and setting

The narrative backbone of Season 7 centers on Kingpin. As mayor of New York, Wilson Fisk has ordered a citywide lockdown after the Alchemax Corporation from the year 2099 begins transforming Lower Manhattan neighborhoods into their futuristic counterparts. Fisk arrests super heroes from different timelines and enlists Black Cat to retrieve a stone tablet he believes will save the city. White Fox crosses his path when she enters the barricaded city to free Luna Snow.

This storyline plays out on a new Convergence map called Lower Manhattan, which goes live on April 2 — roughly two weeks after the season starts. The Shin-Shibuya map also returns to the competitive rotation with Season 7.0.

New skins launching with Season 7.0

Three costumes arrive alongside the season's opening patch:

A Loki costume themed after The Avengers film is confirmed for April, tied to an upcoming asymmetrical PVP event called "The Path to Doomsday: The Avengers." In that mode, one player controls Loki with a unique Infinity Stone–powered skill set while six others play as heroes who can summon Hulk under certain conditions. Additional skins for Cloak & Dagger (Thieves Guild) and Deadpool (ESports Jersey) have been previewed but not given firm release dates.

Other major Season 7.0 changes

Beyond the new heroes, Season 7.0 brings a sweeping set of balance adjustments and feature updates. The most impactful global change is an approximately 20 percent reduction to Ultimate Ability charge rates across all roles. Vanguards and Duelists see their damage-to-energy conversion drop from 90 to 70 percent, while Strategists go from 90 to 75 percent with a steeper cut to passive energy regeneration.

Competitive mode gets three bans per team instead of two, and placement matches now factor in personal performance, allowing your starting rank to shift up or down by one division. New accessories arrive for ten heroes, including Adam Warlock, Hulk, Venom, and White Fox. College students who register with a school email can trial ten different costumes and MVPs for the duration of the season.
