WWE 2K26's AAA Superstars Are Locked Behind the Ringside Pass Premium Track

WWE 2K26 marks the first time wrestlers from Lucha Libre AAA have appeared in a WWE video game. Following WWE's acquisition of the Mexican promotion roughly a year ago, 2K has included four AAA superstars as DLC in Season 1 of the new Ringside Pass. The catch is that all four sit exclusively on the premium track, and even after paying for it, you still have to play through tiers to unlock most of them.

Quick answer: Purchase the Season 1 Ringside Pass premium track for $9.99 (or own a higher-tier edition of the game that includes it), then progress through tiers 1–20 to unlock all four AAA superstars: El Hijo del Vikingo (tier 1), Lady Flammer (tier 7), Psycho Clown (tier 13), and Mr. Iguana (tier 20).

How the Ringside Pass replaces traditional DLC packs

WWE 2K26 has ditched the old model of standalone DLC packs sold throughout the year. In its place is the Ringside Pass, a battle pass system split into two tracks. The free track contains 40 tiers of rewards, mostly consisting of legend characters and championships that were previously unlocked via the Accelerator DLC. The premium track adds another 40 tiers and costs $9.99 per season. If you purchased a more expensive edition of WWE 2K26, the Season 1 premium track — and potentially future seasons — is already included.

You earn Ringside XP (RXP) by playing the game, and that XP moves you through the tiers on whichever track you have access to. The premium track is where all DLC superstars live, and no new playable wrestlers appear beyond tier 20 in any given season. Everything from tier 21 onward consists of cosmetics, MyFaction items, Island VC, and other supplementary content.

All four AAA superstars and their unlock tiers

Premium Tier Superstar Unlock Method
1 El Hijo del Vikingo Instant — unlocks as soon as you activate the premium track
7 Lady Flammer Reach tier 7 by earning RXP
13 Psycho Clown Reach tier 13 by earning RXP
20 Mr. Iguana Reach tier 20 by earning RXP

El Hijo del Vikingo is the only wrestler you get immediately. 2K has confirmed that the first DLC superstar on every season's premium track will unlock without any grinding, so Vikingo is playable the moment you activate the pass. He becomes the first AAA-contracted wrestler to appear in a WWE video game.

Lady Flammer requires you to work through six additional tiers. Psycho Clown sits at tier 13, and Mr. Iguana — positioned as the marquee unlock of the season — doesn't become available until you've cleared the first 20 tiers. Between each wrestler, the premium track is filled with MyFaction packs, Island VC, attribute boosts, cosmetic items, and creation suite parts.

Earning RXP faster

The exact amount of RXP needed per tier is still being fine-tuned, but early hands-on sessions suggest that quick matches are an efficient way to accumulate it. Setting the difficulty to easy, lowering health, and enabling multiple finishers lets you burn through matches rapidly and stack RXP gains. The free track also includes several AAA RXP Boosters at various tiers, which grant a temporary 10% increase to RXP earned. You don't have to activate these boosters immediately — save them for a longer play session to get the most value.

Note: Premium passes do not expire. If you fall behind on Season 1, you can switch to a later season once it becomes available and return to finish Season 1 at any time. There is also a tier skip option, though it's priced similarly to NBA 2K's system at roughly $1.99 per tier, making it an expensive shortcut relative to the $9.99 cost of the pass itself.

Other AAA content on the premium track

The four wrestlers aren't the only AAA-themed rewards. Scattered across the premium track's 40 tiers are two AAA championships — the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at tier 24 and the AAA Mega Championship at tier 29. At tier 40, completing the entire premium track unlocks two AAA arenas: TripleMania XXXIII and Worlds Collide 2025.

You'll also find MyFaction cards for each of the four AAA superstars, cosmetic packs, wallpapers, and Island banners themed around the DLC roster. A few creation suite items tie into the AAA theme as well, including a Dirty Dom AAA Mask at tier 21 and a La Yezca Mask at tier 39.

What's on the free track

If you don't buy the premium pass, the free track still has a substantial amount of content — but none of it includes AAA superstars. The 40 free tiers are loaded with legend bundles that were historically gated behind the Accelerator DLC. Early tiers unlock characters like Eddie Guerrero, Andre the Giant, Chyna, and Bret Hart, while later tiers include The Rock, Hollywood Hogan, and The Fiend (Bray Wyatt). Several classic arenas, championships, and MyFaction packs round out the free rewards.

2K has indicated that Season 1's free track is specifically designed to house the content that used to come with the Accelerator. Future seasons may offer different types of free rewards once this backlog of legacy unlockables has been distributed.

Getting into AAA as a wrestling fan

If the DLC roster has piqued your interest in Lucha Libre AAA, the weekly show streams on the official WWE YouTube channel under the name Lucha Libre AAA. Episodes air every Saturday night and run about an hour, making them a low-commitment way to get familiar with the promotion's roster and storylines. Commentary does a solid job of filling in the background for newer viewers. The Worlds Collide 2025 event is also worth checking out as a standalone show that highlights the crossover between WWE and AAA talent.

The Ringside Pass system remains divisive among the WWE 2K community. The core frustration is straightforward: players are paying for DLC content and then being asked to grind for it. How steep that grind turns out to be — especially for reaching Mr. Iguana at tier 20 — will likely determine whether the backlash intensifies or fades once the game launches.
