Aventurine • Waveflair is a 5-star Quantum unit on the Path of Elation, and he plays nothing like the shielder people already own. This version is a main DPS that builds Fervor and Punchline from his own attacks and from teammate hits, then spends them on repeated Elation Skills. Because most of his damage comes from those Skills, the whole build points in one direction: keep him fast, keep his crit stats high, and surround him with allies who attack often.
Quick answer: Equip Summer Rides the Surf, run 4-piece Ever-Glorious Magical Girl with the 2-piece Punklorde Stage Zero planar set, push SPD to 160+, and land CRIT Rate near 100% without going over.

Aventurine Waveflair best build loadout
The core kit is short and consistent. Slot the pieces below, then spend your relic rolls solving CRIT Rate and SPD.
| Slot | Best pick |
|---|---|
| Light Cone | Summer Rides the Surf |
| Relic set (4-piece) | Ever-Glorious Magical Girl |
| Planar Ornament (2-piece) | Punklorde Stage Zero |
| Body | CRIT Rate (CRIT DMG only if crit is already capped in combat) |
| Feet | SPD |
| Planar Sphere | Quantum DMG Boost (take ATK% if its substats are clearly better) |
| Link Rope | Energy Regeneration Rate |
| Substat order | SPD → CRIT Rate → CRIT DMG → ATK% |
| Trace priority | Elation Skill > Talent = Ultimate > Skill > Basic ATK |
One warning on the sphere. His Elation DMG is not raised by ordinary DMG Boost effects, so a Quantum sphere only helps his ATK-scaling Skill and Ultimate hits, not the Elation bounces that carry most of his output. If a Quantum sphere has weak substats, a piece with stronger CRIT and SPD rolls is the smarter choice.

Add to Google Preferences →Stat targets and the 140 SPD breakpoint
Speed is not optional here. His Bonus Ability grants 30% Elation once SPD hits 140, then adds 1% Elation for every extra point of SPD above that mark. That is why SPD sits at the top of the substat order even ahead of crit. Treat 140 as the floor and 160 as the live build target, then let his Ultimate’s 30% SPD buff and the signature cone’s SPD boost push higher during his damage window.
| Stat | Target |
|---|---|
| SPD | 160+ (140 is the trace floor) |
| CRIT Rate | 90–100% in combat |
| CRIT DMG | 140–180%+ |
| ATK | 2,400+ is a healthy live number |
| HP / DEF | Around 3,000 HP / 1,200 DEF is plenty; he is not a shielder |
His traces already provide 18.7% CRIT Rate, and Summer Rides the Surf adds another 18% at S1. With the signature equipped, a CRIT DMG body becomes much easier to run. Without it, a CRIT Rate body is usually the cleaner pick. Do not keep stacking CRIT Rate past 100% for a screenshot; convert the excess into CRIT DMG or SPD instead.
Best Light Cones for Aventurine Waveflair
Summer Rides the Surf is his signature and his strongest option by a clear margin. It gives 18% CRIT Rate, boosts his SPD by 24% after an Elation Skill (Updraft), and grants 40% Elation when the Elation Skill differs from the last one (Uptrend). It also refunds a Skill Point at the start of each wave and after every third Elation Skill. Since he uses Elation Skills constantly, all of those effects stay active.
| Priority | Light Cone | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Best | Summer Rides the Surf | CRIT Rate, SPD, Elation, and Skill Point recovery in one package |
| 5-star alt | Until the Flowers Bloom Again | CRIT DMG, Energy Regen, and an enemy vulnerability proc; best when he enables Ashveil or Mortenax Blade |
| 5-star alt | Welcome to the Cosmic City | SPD and Elation DEF ignore; he never Ultimates himself, so use it only for the SPD and ignore |
| Battle Pass | Today’s Good Luck | CRIT Rate plus stacking Elation after Elation Skills |
| 4-star gacha | A Little Getaway | Elation% and DEF ignore during Elation Skills |
| F2P | Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures | Free Elation% and extra Elation DMG taken by enemies after he Skills |

Relics and Planar Ornaments
Ever-Glorious Magical Girl is built for his actual damage source. The 2-piece adds 16% CRIT DMG, and the 4-piece makes his Elation DMG ignore 10% of enemy DEF, plus another 1% ignore for every 5 Punchline his allies accumulate, up to 10 stacks. His teams generate Punchline on nearly every action, so the set turns itself on.
Genius of Brilliant Stars is the backup. It gives 10% DEF ignore to all his damage and another 10% against Quantum-weak enemies, but its 2-piece Quantum DMG bonus does nothing for his Elation hits, and it leans on Weakness type. Only run it if your Magical Girl pieces have dead main stats.
For the planar set, Punklorde Stage Zero is the pick. It grants 8% Elation up front, then 20% CRIT DMG the first time his Elation reaches 40% and another 32% at 80%. His traces, the 140-SPD bonus, and his cone push him past those thresholds without extra setup. Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves is a viable but weaker alternative in follow-up lineups if you already own a strong set.
How his Fervor and Punchline loop works
Every teammate attack feeds him 1 Fervor and 1 Punchline. When Fervor hits 10, his Talent auto-fires Cheers! To Summer’s Blaze, an AoE hit followed by 10 random bounces. That upgrades his next Elation Skill inside an Aha Instant into All In! To Summer’s Blaze, which consumes his remaining Fervor and adds one extra bounce for every point spent. So entering that turn with a full Fervor bar is the whole point of the build.
Punchline is a shared team resource that raises Elation DMG when it is calculated. His Skill gives 4, his Ultimate gives 6, and teammate attacks add more. His Ultimate also grants 30% SPD for a few turns. A clean rotation opens with his Skill, lets allies attack to stack Fervor, then times the enhanced Elation Skill for the strongest Aha window. Avoid Basic ATKs unless you are out of Skill Points.
Note: if a second Elation character joins, he swaps modes and instead hands all allies 20% Elation while gaining 80% himself, losing the solo-Elation conversion and Aha acceleration. Both modes are playable, but the follow-up setup tends to be more consistent in the current 4.5 environment.

Best teams for Aventurine Waveflair
He wants allies who attack often, which is why Elation supports and frequent follow-up units both fit. Pick the core that matches the characters you own.
| Team | Members | Role notes |
|---|---|---|
| Elation hypercarry | Aventurine Waveflair, Yao Guang, Elation Trailblazer, Huohuo | Yao Guang feeds Elation and offensive buffs; Elation Trailblazer forces a free Elation Skill; Huohuo covers healing and Energy |
| Solo Elation / follow-up | Aventurine Waveflair, Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Huohuo or Hyacine | His Elation Skill counts as a Follow-Up here; Ashveil’s follow-up buffs apply to it, Mortenax Blade debuffs |
| Robin Summeretto flex | Aventurine Waveflair, Robin • Summeretto, Yao Guang or Tribbie, Huohuo | Summeretto advances him, refills Energy, and her birds attack frequently |
| Silver Wolf swap | Silver Wolf Lv.999, Elation Trailblazer, Aventurine Waveflair, Huohuo | He slots into the third spot and provides team CRIT DMG |
| Budget | Aventurine Waveflair, Elation Trailblazer, Asta or Tingyun, Gallagher or Natasha | Asta stacks ATK and SPD; Gallagher heals and cleanses while attacking often |
For sustains, any healer who attacks often adds value. Permansor Terrae works as a shielding option that also buffs ATK and can hand the DPS a summon, and Hyacine slots in thanks to her frequent attacks, healing, and cleansing.

Eidolons and signature priority
He performs well at E0S0, so vertical investment is a bonus rather than a requirement. His signature Light Cone is his single most valuable upgrade because it buffs him and raises his SPD. E1S1 is the clean stopping point for most players.
| Eidolon | Effect |
|---|---|
| E1 – A Holiday on the Line | Adds All-Type RES PEN and fires Cheers at 10/20/30 Fervor instead of only the first 10; his best first copy |
| E2 – Idle as the Turning Tide | Raises the Fervor cap to 50 and grants 4 Fervor after an Elation Skill, allowing more Skill casts |
| E4 – Sunlight Runs No Tab | His Skill gives the team 18% DEF ignore for 3 turns |
| E6 – The Past in Fast Lane | His strongest Eidolon; permanent enhanced Elation Skill after two Ultimates plus a flat Elation DMG boost |
Build him around attack frequency and the numbers take care of themselves. Lock in Summer Rides the Surf if you have it, farm 4-piece Ever-Glorious Magical Girl with Punklorde Stage Zero, tune to 160 SPD and near-100% CRIT Rate, and pair him with allies who keep swinging so his Fervor bar is always ready when Aha’s turn comes.
