Who gets the DLC and what it costs
Owners of 007 First Light can get the add-on at no cost. It requires no additional purchase, and this release has no premium upgrade. The add-on is offered for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game’s Nintendo Switch 2 port has been pushed back to 2027. When it arrives, it is expected to bring the complete game and post-launch content, meaning Switch 2 players cannot access this update on October 1.
What the free DLC adds
IO Interactive has not confirmed the full contents ahead of launch. The official teaser shows a fast-moving vehicle in an open field, which points toward a new Tactical Simulation (TacSim) mission built around car racing rather than a large story chapter. The long-teased Aston Martin Valhalla, which already appears in the campaign, is widely expected to feature in this update.
This release sits within the game’s broader Year One plan, which outlines recurring TacSim updates, new missions, locations, gadgets, and a planned New Game+ mode. A separate premium story expansion centered on the pirate king Bawma, portrayed by Lenny Kravitz, has been announced but does not have a confirmed release date and is not part of this free drop.
How to download it once it unlocks
Official details land alongside the release on the 007 First Light website, which also hosts the launch countdown. 007 First Light has sold more than four million copies since its late-May debut, and the free update extends that momentum into its post-launch roadmap.
