Sarah is the godling hiding inside the cellar oven of the haunted house in Novigrad Dreaming, the Act 1 main quest that begins after Triss points Geralt toward the oneiromancer Corinne Tilly. Sarah has trapped Corinne in a sleeping spell full of nightmares, and interacting with the oven triggers the conversation that decides her fate. The first dialogue prompt is cosmetic, but the second choice is permanent.
Quick answer: Pick “Let’s make a deal” to let Sarah stay, which wakes Corinne immediately and unlocks the Haunted House side quest. Pick “Guess I’ll have to throw you out, then” to banish her using burdock burned in the oven.

Sarah choice outcomes compared
Both choices wake Corinne so the quest can continue, and both award the same 100 XP. The difference is what happens to Sarah afterward and which follow-up content you keep access to.
| Choice | What happens | Later content |
|---|---|---|
| Let’s make a deal (stay) | Sarah stops the nightmares; Corinne wakes; no items needed | Unlocks the Haunted House side quest, where Corinne buys the house and befriends Sarah |
| Choose to throw her out (banish) | Sarah hides, then flees when you burn burdock in the oven | Locks out Haunted House; Sarah reappears with Johnny during Bald Mountain |
Letting Sarah stay is the simpler route and keeps the Haunted House quest open. Banishing her is the only way to permanently close off that side quest, so make this choice deliberately.
How to reach Sarah in the oven
Before you can make the choice, you need to solve the house puzzle so the oven becomes accessible. The house sits southeast of Hierarch Square, and Rudolf de Jonkheer greets you at the door before letting you in.

A weakened wall in the cellar can be broken with Aard for extra loot, but you do not need to go past it to finish the quest.
Let Sarah stay
Choose “Let’s make a deal” at the second prompt. Geralt agrees to tell Rudolf the house is incurably haunted, so Sarah gets to keep her home. In exchange, she lifts the spell on Corinne right away, with no herbs or extra steps required.
This path later gives you the Haunted House side quest, where Corinne ends up buying the property and living there with Sarah. When you leave, tell Rudolf the house is still haunted and that you cannot lift the curse to hold up your end of the bargain.

Banish Sarah with burdock and Igni
Choose “Guess I’ll have to throw you out, then” to force her out. Sarah throws a tantrum and hides in the oven, so you have to smoke her out with a specific herb.

This route skips the Haunted House side quest entirely. Instead, Sarah moves in with another godling named Johnny, and you run into the pair again later during the main quest Bald Mountain. Rudolf will still promise you a cut of the sale price when he eventually offloads the property.
Finishing the quest after the choice
However you handled Sarah, Corinne is now awake. Go back upstairs and speak with her. She agrees to help find Ciri and asks you to meet her at her rented room in the Golden Sturgeon, west of Hierarch Square.
Go upstairs at the Golden Sturgeon and respond to Corinne’s questions about Geralt and Ciri. One selection at each prompt is enough to proceed, while the other answers provide extra background. She then sends Geralt into a dream featuring Dandelion, a swallow, and an explosion. Corinne explains that Dandelion came to own a brothel named Rosemary and Thyme. This finishes Novigrad Dreaming, grants 100 XP, and points you to the next main quest, Broken Flowers.
