Spirit Charms sit at the center of build power in VV Ultimatum, the Bleach-inspired Roblox action RPG. They work as passive build modifiers rather than plain stat sticks, and most of the strong ones pair a big upside with a real drawback. There are over 50 charms in total, each assigned an in-game tier from Tier 1 to Tier 4, so the goal is matching a charm to your playstyle without wrecking your health from notch overload.

Quick answer: For most builds, lead with A Song of Fire and Thunder (the only Tier 4), Heavenly Restriction for pure melee, and Undying Soul as a universal safety net. Keep total notch cost at or below 3 to avoid the Max HP penalty.

How the notch system limits your charms

Every charm consumes notches based on its tier, and your character has a recommended cap of 3 total notches. Cross that cap, and you start losing maximum health. The penalty is a flat 6% of Max HP for each notch over the limit, which makes stacking high-tier charms a real cost rather than a free power boost.

Equipped notchesMax HP penalty
3 notchesNone
4 notches-6% Max HP
5 notches-12% Max HP
6 notches-18% Max HP

Because of this, the best setup is usually the one with the strongest synergy, not the highest tier count. A single Tier 4 charm that fits your build often beats two mismatched charms that push you into a health deficit.

Tier 4 Spirit Charms

Only two charms reach Tier 4, and both are build-defining. A Song of Fire and Thunder packs multiple elemental effects into one slot, which is why it tops most rankings despite the high notch cost.

CharmEffect and value
A Song of Fire and Thunder (Lvl 32, Hueco Mundo)Above 1.25x AP your melee turns flame-imbued for more damage, and below 25% HP your heavy melee can apply Scorch on a 10s cooldown. Above 1.2x AP your kido gains thunder for extra stun, and below 25% HP your heavy kido can apply Electroshock on a 10s cooldown. Rewards careful AP management and stays dangerous at low health.
Shonen Syndrome (Lvl 32, Valley of Screams)Calls out your next move and upgrades it by 2 levels, up to a cap at Level 6, on a 25-second cooldown. A tempo charm for players who pick the right moment to commit, since you cannot spam the upgrade.

Tier 3 Spirit Charms

Tier 3 holds most of the heavy hitters. These charms reshape a playstyle, and several are worth the notch cost on their own. Heavenly Restriction, Undying Soul, and Soul Snatcher stand out as the strongest options here.

CharmEffect and value
Heavenly Restriction (Lvl 20, Hueco Mundo)Up to +35% physical power, +15% move speed, and +25% kido defense scaling with level, plus crits proc Kill Confirmed. You lose all ability use, so it suits pure melee/Hakuda players. Does not fully stack with Warrior’s Spirit.
Undying SoulGrants a second wind when defeated. It is not true sustain since death is final once HP runs out again, but it hands aggressive players one more window to close a fight. Universally valuable.
Soul SnatcherLanding any kido ability on an enemy below 11% HP triggers a short-delay knock. A strong execute for kido builds in both PvE and PvP.
Raid Boss (Lvl 35)Gains Battle Fever stacks per nearby enemy and loses them per nearby ally, up to 10 stacks. Each stack adds 5% incoming defense and 3% damage (both up to x3.5), with extra perks at higher stacks. Built for outnumbered fights, but you take 10% more damage when stacks are empty with allies near.
Adrenaline Junkie (Lvl 15, Soul Society Outskirts)+1% output on hit, stacking to 110%; drops 1% when hit, down to 10%, and resets to 100% after 30 seconds without action. High skill ceiling for clean aggression.
BlademasterBladed basics apply Deep Gash but deal 90% less damage; at 3 stacks you deal 110% of normal damage. A delayed-payoff charm that needs you to stick to a target.
Curtain Call (Lvl 15, Arctic Plains)At 100% reiatsu your basics gain percent lifesteal, but you lose passive reiatsu regen. Big sustain for players who manage resources well.
Struggler’s Spirit (Lvl 35, Hueco Mundo)Landing three basics below 25% HP boosts your strength on a 75s cooldown, and you take 20% less damage while below 25% HP. A clutch comeback tool.
You’re In My Range (Lvl 15, Hueco Mundo)+35% defense against gap-close abilities and an empowered next hit after being closed on, on a 45s cooldown. You take 15% more damage from attacks landing outside 25 studs. A matchup pick against divers.
Await the Opening (Lvl 15)Your parries now posture break and deal 50% as much posture damage. Strong for defensive duelists who read attacks well.
Blazing Spirit (Lvl 20)Parrying a basic melee ignites your blade for +10% damage on a 5s cooldown, while un-ignited basics deal -2%. Rewards clean defense.
Haze of Death (Lvl 15)Your critical attack applies Cursed on a 50s cooldown. Simple extra threat for PvP burst windows.
Kill Confirmed (Lvl 15, Arctic Plains)Knocking an opponent blows their head off, with a temporary -5% output to nearby enemies on a 5s cooldown. A finisher with group-fight pressure.
Last Man Standing (Lvl 15)If an ally is knocked within 90 meters, you siphon a share of the enemy’s HP pack, but all your regen is halved. Better in coordinated team fights.
Ultimate Sacrifice (Lvl 15, Hueco Mundo)Your Aura becomes uncancellable but builds more slowly. A high-risk power pick for Aura-focused play.

Tier 2 and Tier 1 Spirit Charms

Lower-tier charms cost fewer notches, which makes them easy to slot alongside a heavier pick. Many are flat, reliable bonuses, and a few are situational tools that shine in specific modes like grinding, invasions, or Homeworld defense.

Charm (Tier)Effect and value
Perfect Flash (T2)2.5x damage on out-of-combat attacks, including against full-HP enemies. A devastating opener for any build.
Close & Personal (T2)+5% weapon/Hakuda damage with a fair -2% damage vulnerability. A clean melee upgrade.
Ranged Warrior (T2)+6% kido/ranged damage. A natural pairing for kido builds running Soul Snatcher.
Backline Buster (T2)Hitting one enemy then a different one shortly after procs Perfect Flash, on a 35s cooldown. Rewards target swapping in group fights.
Factotum’s Spirit (T2)Faster leveling, but increased EXP loss makes it risky outside safe grinding spots.
Side Character (T2)+7.5% NPC damage for PvE, with +4% player damage taken that hurts in PvP zones.
Frostwalker (T2)Kido combo potential, turning frost into freeze with the right playstyle.
Frugal (T2)Cash-loss protection, but you forfeit all PvP cash earnings. A niche economy pick.
Relentless Hunter (T2)Invasion-only value for players who actively invade others.
Silent Shadows (T2)60% aura reduction for stealth and invasion builds.
Superiority Complex (T2)Blade-catch mastery that needs high skill to pay off.
Golem (T2)75% damage reduction trigger with a specific activation condition.
Giant Fighter (T1)Essential for boss fights; the non-Boss penalty only matters when grinding regular NPCs.
Critical Blows (T1)Flat +7.5% crit damage. Simple, reliable, low cost.
Head Hunter (T1)+5% versus transformed players. A PvP meta pick against transformation-heavy builds.
Prey Turned Predator (T1)Anti-invasion protection during quests for peace of mind.
Trouble in Paradise (T1)+10% in Homeworld only. Strong if you defend your Homeworld often.

How to remove Spirit Charms

Charms cannot be unequipped on demand from your menu. To swap or remove one, head to the Valley of Screams, reached through a purple portal that appears randomly around the world. Inside, you can strip unwanted charms and rebuild your setup, so watch for those portals if you plan to change builds later.

Merging Spirit Charms

Charm merging is an endgame system that combines two charms into a single stronger version with enhanced effects and unique synergies. The trade-off is that merged charms usually move up to a higher tier, which consumes more notches, so the extra power has to outweigh the added health risk.

Get the two Spirit Charms you want to combine and craft an Energy Cell, which is required before the merge station will work.
Travel to the secret laboratory hidden within Hueco Mundo, where the merging station is located.
Merge both charms to receive a stronger combined charm with upgraded stats and stacked effects.

As an example, merging Close & Personal with Blademaster produces a Tier 5 charm that requires Level 35 and is found in Hueco Mundo. Its weapon/Hakuda damage rises from 5% to 7.20%, and bladed basics still apply Deep Gash for that 110% payoff at 3 stacks. The drawbacks carry over too, with 2% damage vulnerability and bladed basics dealing 90% less direct damage before Deep Gash activates.

Treat Spirit Charms as a second layer of progression on top of your race, abilities, and skill tree. The strongest characters rarely just stack the highest tiers; they build a charm setup that complements everything else, then keep the total notch cost in a range their health can support.
