Combat in the Roblox samurai game Dokkodo is built around precise timing rather than freely trading blows. Four mechanics form the backbone of a duel: Chambers, which let an M1 power through incoming attacks; dodging, which opens a quick counterattack window; Sakki, a later unlock that scales your other buffs; and the Clash System, which resolves what happens when two players swing into each other. Each one has its own inputs, conditions, and confirmation cues, and knowing them is what turns a messy exchange into a clean punish.

Core combat mechanics

In Depth: Chambers

To Chamber, hold M2 and then press M1, and a blue glint confirms you input the correct actions. That glint is your signal that the input registered, so it is worth watching for in the heat of a fight. A Chamber is an M1 that has the ability to power through other attacks, although it can still be parried. Because it pushes through, you can use a Chamber to advance past an enemy’s attack and hit them at the same time, turning their swing into an opening rather than a threat.

How dodging works

Press Q to dodge an attack, which enables a quick counterattack soon after. Dodging is not a blanket safety button, though: dodges do not have I-Frames during the entire duration of the dodge. Invulnerability only occurs during a Perfect Dodge, PD for short, which is a dodge that is timed like a parry. You know you executed one correctly if you see after-images of yourself after performing the dodge, so look for those after-images to confirm the timing landed before you commit to the follow-up.

Sakki

Dokkodo - Sakki

Sakki is an unlockable that, once active, scales all buffs by 25% and gives you a little bit of HP. Unlocking it requires progress on two fronts: the main storyline and your total karma earned. The karma requirement is cumulative rather than current — losing karma will not affect it, so if you gain +5 karma you will always have that +5 karma counting toward unlocking your Sakki, even if you spend or lose karma afterward.

  • You must defeat the main storyline vagabond storyline part 1 (beat Hozoin Inshun).
  • You must have reached 1000+ karma earned. Losing karma will not affect this; karma earned counts permanently toward the unlock.

Clash System

The Clash System is a player-versus-player interaction that happens when two players clash who are swinging at the same direction. When both combatants commit a swing in the same direction at once, the result is a clash between them.

Taken together, these four mechanics define the foundation of Dokkodo’s swordplay: time a Chamber until you see its blue glint, land Perfect Dodges for their I-Frames, work toward the Sakki unlock for the buff scaling and extra HP, and watch your swing direction when two blades meet.
