Current and upcoming events
Summer 2026 — July 23 to August 23
Summer 2026 is Murder Mystery 2’s seasonal content drop, built around unlocking summer-themed rewards. Nikilis added a summer lobby and a new summer map, along with a mystery box and a godly item pack, and players earn rewards simply for opening mystery boxes during the event. It’s built to last the full month rather than a short limited-time weekend, so there’s no need to rush now that it’s a couple of days in.
about 980,000 players have marked themselves as going on Roblox. It opened at 5:00 p.m. ET on July 23 — 2:00 p.m. PT, 10:00 p.m. BST and 2:30 a.m. IST the following morning — and closes at the same time of day on August 23.
Nothing else is on the calendar for Murder Mystery 2 right now, so Summer 2026 is the one window to plan around through most of August. We update this page as the schedule changes.
How a round works
Each match hands out three roles at random. Most players are Innocents, who have no weapon and have to survive by running, hiding, and paying attention. One player is the Sheriff, the only Innocent-aligned role carrying a gun, and their job is to identify and stop the killer. One player is the Murderer, whose goal is to eliminate everyone in the lobby without catching a bullet from the Sheriff.
The tension comes from not knowing who is who. Innocents have to read behavior and movement to expose the Murderer, while the Murderer tries to blend in and pick people off quietly. The Sheriff has real power but has to spend it carefully, because firing on the wrong person can swing a round.
Knives and trading
Beyond the rounds themselves, a big part of Murder Mystery 2’s staying power is its collection side. There are hundreds of knives to collect and trade with other players, and that economy has become a hobby in its own right for a large part of the community. That is also what makes seasonal events like Summer 2026 matter — a godly item pack and a fresh mystery box give the trading side something new to chase.
