Who needs Game Pass and who plays free
There are two tiers this weekend. The standard Free Play Days titles require an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership. The second tier, Free Play Days for All, opens certain games to every Xbox network member with no subscription of any kind.

Tides of Tomorrow
From the DigixArt team behind Road 96, this is a choice-driven narrative adventure set on the ocean-covered planet Elynd, where a disease called Plastemia threatens all life. You play a Tidewalker exploring flooded cities and shaping the world through decisions. Its Story-Link system leaves traces of other players’ past choices across your own solo playthrough. It closes July 26 and is 25% off at $22.49.
For Honor
For Honor is the standout for anyone without a subscription, because it runs the extended window all the way to August 4 and needs no Game Pass. The melee combat pits knights, samurai, and vikings against each other with a system that rewards timing and practice. The player base is experienced, so the near-two-week free window is useful runway for finding your footing.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls
A 3D arena fighter built on Tite Kubo’s anime, featuring Ichigo, Rukia, Byakuya, Kenpachi, and their Zanpakuto abilities and Bankai transformations. Matches revolve around breaking an opponent’s Konpaku, which can wipe multiple health stocks at once and swing momentum fast. A story mode retells the series through the Arrancar arc. It is free for everyone through July 26 and cut 60% to $23.99.
Killing Floor 3
The co-op shooter for up to six players is in its fourth season, Operation Shadow Hunter, which adds a mire-infested oil rig map, the dual-pistol Gunslinger perk, a new boss in Dr. Moorcroft, and a Suicidal difficulty tier between Hard and Hell-on-Earth. You join the rebel group Nightfall against waves of bioengineered Zeds, with per-Specialist progression trees. It is free for all until July 26 and half price at $19.99.
Keeping your progress after the free window
Anything you unlock during Free Play Days carries over if you buy the game. Achievements, Gamerscore, and any DLC purchased while playing stay with your account, and a purchase lets you resume exactly where you stopped. You will know a title is still active when its store listing shows the install or free-trial option; once a game’s deadline passes, that option disappears and the download stops launching.
If you plan to keep only one, the Master Collection Version at $9.99 is the strongest value and gets the extra day through July 27. For no-subscription players, Killing Floor 3’s Season 4 content and immediate co-op loop make it the easiest pick, with Bleach Rebirth of Souls close behind for anime fans.
