Devil Hunter devils, drops, and spawn locations explained

Devils sit at the center of Devil Hunter’s progression loop. They are your main source of Yen and XP, but more importantly they drop Devil Flesh and body parts that feed into weapon crafting, contracts, and Fiend Talents. There are 15 devils in the game right now, split into Common, Uncommon, and Rare tiers, with more planned for future updates.

This breakdown focuses on what each devil drops, where to find them, and what their key materials are used for, so you can stop wandering the map and start farming the right targets.

Devil Hunter devil rarities and how drops work

Every devil kill gives a small, guaranteed payout of Yen and XP. The more valuable items—Common/Uncommon/Rare Devil Flesh and unique body parts—are conditional drops that unlock over time rather than dropping on your very first kill.

To get body parts like Stone Devil Chunk or Frog Devil Tongue, you must defeat that specific devil 25 times. Before that threshold, you still earn Yen and XP, but you will not see those named body part drops. That requirement applies per devil type, so progress on Tomatoes does not help you unlock drops from Mantis, for example.

Devil Flesh at different rarities is used widely in crafting and to increase your Fear stat, while unique parts usually tie into Fiend Talents or specific contracts. Think of devil farming as a long-term investment: pick a target, stick with it until you unlock its parts, then rotate to the next one you need.

All Common devils in Devil Hunter

Common devils are your early-game workhorses. They spawn often in the open world and in missions, and they provide the bulk of the Common Devil Flesh you need for basic crafting and Fear increases.

Devil Key drops Spawn details
Rat 500 Yen, 10 XP Appears randomly across the map, from Devil Doors, and in Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Zombie Common Devil Flesh, Zombie Devil Brain (Borrowed Life Fiend Talent), 500 Yen, 10 XP Spawns randomly in the world, from Devil Doors, and in Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Fly Fly Fiend Head (needed for Frog Devil contract), 1,000 Yen, 20 XP Same patterns as Rat and Zombie: random map spawns, Devil Doors, Hold the Line, and Aftermath Detail.
Ant 1,000 Yen, 20 XP Randomly across the map, Devil Doors, and mission spawns (Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail).
Tomato Common Devil Flesh, Tomato Devil Seed (Revive Sprout Fiend Talent), 2,500 Yen, 40 XP Near the Hana NPC, from Devil Doors and missions, and at the Farm when you water and harvest plants.
Sea Cucumber Common Devil Flesh, Sea Cucumber Devil Flesh, Sea Cucumber Devil Finger (Corrosive Touch Fiend Talent), 2,500 Yen, 40 XP Random map spawns, Devil Doors, and Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Fish Common Devil Flesh, Fish Devil Egg, Fish Devil Appendages, 2,500 Yen, 40 XP Random map spawns, Devil Doors, and Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Mold Mold Devil Flesh (Mold Eruption Fiend Talent), 2,500 Yen, 40 XP In the alley opposite the signal tower in City Outskirts, and in Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.

Two Common devils are especially important for talent and contract progression:

  • Fly is effectively a prerequisite for the Frog contract. The Fly Fiend Head it drops is what lets you form a contract with the Frog Devil later on.
  • Tomato ties into the Tomato contract and Revive Sprout Fiend Talent and has bespoke spawns near Hana and at the Farm, making it easier to target when you specifically need Tomato drops.

All Uncommon devils in Devil Hunter

Uncommon devils are a step up in both rewards and utility. They drop Uncommon Devil Flesh, which you need for higher-end weapons and Fear scaling, and several of them provide arms, tongues, or other body parts that unlock potent Fiend Talents.

Devil Key drops Spawn details
Mantis Uncommon Devil Flesh, Mantis Devil Claw, Mantis Devil Arm (Predator’s Angle Fiend Talent), 5,000 Yen, 70 XP Spawns randomly, from Devil Doors, and in Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Leech Uncommon Devil Flesh, Leech Devil Arm, Leech Devil Appendages (Life Leech Fiend Talent), 5,000 Yen, 70 XP Random world spawns, Devil Doors, and mission appearances.
Frog Uncommon Devil Flesh, Frog Devil Tongue (Tongue Snatch Fiend Talent), 5,000 Yen, 70 XP Random map spawns, Devil Doors, and Hold the Line / Aftermath Detail missions.
Stone Uncommon Devil Flesh, Stone Devil Chunk, Stone Devil Appendages (Stone Skin Fiend Talent) Random spawns and Devil Doors, plus extra density near shipping containers behind the Zombie Raid area and inside the Temple.
Yurei Uncommon Devil Flesh, 5,000 Yen, 70 XP Spawned by talking to Izan Yumei in the Residential Area; she gives a quest that summons Yurei.
Bat Uncommon Devil Flesh, Bat Devil Appendages (Rupturing Cry Fiend Talent), 5,000 Yen, 70 XP Found at a unique house past the City Outskirts, and engaged through a dedicated Bat Devil NPC.

How to reach and fight the Bat Devil

The Bat Devil is intentionally more structured than other Uncommons. It has an NPC and a specific ritual to start the fight, and it also feeds into one of the stronger contracts in the game.

Step 1: From the City Outskirts, move to the edge of the area and jump over the outer wall. Follow the highway until you reach a tunnel. On the left side before the tunnel, look for an off-road path leading away from the main road.

Step 2: Follow this side path until it opens into a field with a single house. The Bat Devil sits inside this building in its dormant state.

Step 3: To actually start the fight, you must offer another player as a sacrifice. Pick up a downed human player (not a Fiend) and interact with the Bat while carrying them. The Bat consumes the sacrifice, throws you out of the house, and then the encounter begins.

Once defeated, the Bat Devil can drop Bat Devil Appendages for the Rupturing Cry Fiend Talent, along with the standard Uncommon Flesh and Yen/XP payout.

How to spawn the Yurei Devil

Yurei doesn’t appear randomly like other Uncommons. Instead, it’s gated behind a small quest.

Step 1: Travel to the Residential Area and locate the NPC named Izan Yumei.

Step 2: Speak to Izan Yumei to receive a quest that explicitly asks you to kill the Yurei Devil. Accepting this quest triggers the Yurei spawn.

Step 3: Track down and defeat Yurei to complete the quest. The kill awards Uncommon Devil Flesh, Yen, and XP, and contributes to your overall devil kill milestones.

All Rare devils in Devil Hunter

Rare devils are where the game starts to tie core progression, contracts, and raids together. They drop Rare Devil Flesh for high-end crafting, and in at least one case, a coveted contract.

Devil Key drops Spawn details
Ghost Rare Devil Flesh, Ghost Devil Contract (10% drop chance), 6,000 Yen, 44 XP Found on the 3rd floor of the Katana Man Raid after clearing the first two floors.
Octopus TBA TBA

How to reach the Ghost Devil in Katana Man Raid

The Ghost Devil is embedded into raid content rather than the open world, which makes it more predictable but also more time-consuming than running standard missions.

Step 1: Queue into the Katana Man Raid from the appropriate terminal in the city (it appears as a dedicated raid option on your phone menu).

Step 2: Clear the 1st and 2nd floors of the raid. These floors consist of standard combat encounters and must be fully completed before you can proceed upward.

Step 3: Move up to the 3rd floor, where the Ghost Devil appears as the main enemy. Defeat Ghost for a chance at the Ghost Devil Contract and a guaranteed payout of Yen, XP, and Rare Devil Flesh.

The Ghost Devil Contract has a 10 percent drop chance, which is relatively generous for a contract tied to a raid boss, especially if you run the raid with a group to cut down clear times.

Where devils spawn in the world and in missions

Most devils fall into a few consistent spawn patterns, which you can use to structure your farming runs instead of roaming aimlessly.

  • Random overworld spawns cover a wide range of Common and Uncommon devils, including Rat, Zombie, Fly, Ant, Sea Cucumber, Fish, Mantis, Leech, Frog, and Stone. Simply patrolling the city districts and outskirts will regularly surface these.
  • Devil Doors act as interactive portals scattered around the map. Interacting with them lets you either take a bounty or spawn devils directly, which is an efficient way to trigger concentrated combat without relying on random wandering.
  • Mission spawns for Hold the Line and Aftermath Detail are highly reliable. These mission types consistently spawn a mix of Common and Uncommon devils in confined arenas, making them ideal for grinding the 25-kill thresholds needed for body parts.
  • Quest-triggered spawns such as Yurei via Izan Yumei, the Tomato Devil via the Homeless Man below the train station, and raid bosses like Ghost provide guaranteed encounters once you meet their conditions.

For targeted farming, missions are usually the most time-efficient option, especially once you know which maps tend to include the devils you want. For world events and contracts, Devil Doors and quest NPCs become more important.

What Devil Flesh and body parts are used for

Devil drops plug into three major systems: crafting, Fear scaling, and Fiend Talents or contracts.

  • Common, Uncommon, and Rare Devil Flesh are core crafting resources. At the crafting stations in Public Safety (floor zero) and in the Yakuza base, you combine Flesh with other materials to create weapons such as katanas and firearms. Using Flesh also raises your Fear stat, which unlocks higher-tier skills in your tree.
  • Unique body parts such as Tomato Devil Seed, Sea Cucumber Devil Finger, Mantis Devil Arm, Leech Devil Appendages, Frog Devil Tongue, Stone Devil Chunk, and Mold Devil Flesh unlock Fiend Talents when consumed. Each talent provides a passive or active ability themed around its devil—life-steal from Leech, hardened defense from Stone, area control from Mold, and so on.
  • Contract items like Fly Fiend Head and Ghost Contract are direct prerequisites for forming or upgrading devil contracts. For example, the Fly Fiend Head is presented to the Frog Devil to secure its contract, and the Ghost Contract lets you wield Ghost’s power after multiple successful raid clears.

On top of these devil-specific items, several other body parts and organs—hearts, arms, eyes—are purchased through the black market and used to trigger contracts with devils such as Snake, Fox, Leech, Sea Cucumber, Future, and others. Those systems depend on your Yen income from devil farming.

How devil farming ties into contracts and progression

Devil Hunter’s progression is built to loop back into itself. Devils give the materials you need for better weapons and talents; those weapons and talents, in turn, let you clear harder content and reach rarer devils.

Several contracts explicitly require devil body parts or boss drops as entry tickets. Examples include:

  • Snake Devil, which demands that you reach the Yakuza base, join the Yakuza, and pay a large number of hearts for a difficult trial.
  • Fox Devil, which you access in Chinatown by paying Yen and offering devil body parts and hearts at Renji’s shrine.
  • Sea Cucumber and Leech, which accept arms or hearts directly when you approach them, converting those items into contracts.
  • Future Devil, which asks for 30 eyes and a rhythm mini-game to seal the deal after you reach First Class Hunter rank.

At the same time, rank progression itself often references devil kills. To move past certain ranks, such as Senior Hunter, you must clear objectives that include fixed numbers of Common, Uncommon, and Rare devil kills and at least one world event victory. Clearing those milestones organically feeds your need for Flesh and parts.

The result is a loop where focusing on devils with the right drops saves you time on both fronts. If you need Leech Appendages for Life Leech and Rare Flesh for crafting, for instance, it makes sense to route through missions that spawn Leech and then into Katana Man Raid runs rather than chasing random open-world encounters.

As more devils are added over time, expect new contracts, Fiend Talents, and recipes to hook into their parts. For now, understanding where each existing devil spawns and what it drops is enough to map out efficient farming paths for your chosen build, whether you care more about contracts, Fiend power, or just stacking Yen as quickly as possible.
