Add to Google Preferences →Monster Hunter Stories 3: Additional Side Story Rudy and Royal Monsters (out now)
The showcase opened with the biggest fresh reveal: a paid DLC called Additional Side Story: Rudy, which went live the same day across every platform. It also confirmed that the long-teased endgame update, the Royal Monsters content, is now available as a free download.
The Rudy chapter brings back Navirou, the companion from earlier Monster Hunter Stories games, and ties him to Rudy, the Royal Felyne, across a 200-year gap. The standout fight is Nergigante, the flagship Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter: World. It returns strictly as a boss encounter here, so you cannot tame it as a Monstie.
The free Royal Monsters update layers on harder endgame challenges. Load a completed save and you can take on a tougher version of the final boss. Beat it, and the world repopulates with Royal Monsters, including Royal versions of invasive monsters and Calamitous Elder Dragons.
Additional Side Story: Rudy is sold on its own and is also bundled with the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions. You will know the content installed correctly when the new side story appears in your menu and the Royal Monster encounters become selectable from a completed save file.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches September 25 with a new boss
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the first new mainline entry in the samurai action series in two decades, and it slashes onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 25, 2026. You play as Miyamoto Musashi, slain by creatures called Genma and revived with Oni powers, now wielding an Oni Gauntlet across a dark fantasy take on Edo-period Kyoto.

Director Satoru Nihei used the Spotlight to introduce a new boss Genma, Dohatsu-ten. It combines strength and speed, and its sword grows more dangerous as it stains with Musashi’s blood, absorbing souls to surge in power. Expect it to chase Musashi through different points in the story.
If you want a taste before launch, a free demo is already available. You can grab it from the PlayStation Store demo listing or on Steam.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings Norgan and 12 Lost Rites on October 9
Two years after the original release, Dragon’s Dogma 2 returns as Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9, 2026. It ships as a full bundle for newcomers and as a standalone expansion for current owners, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. This is also the game’s debut on Switch 2.

Director Kento Kinoshita walked through the new content. The headline addition is a frozen northern area called Norgan, where you uncover the story of a Fallen Dragon with a missing heart and its pursuer, a mysterious woman named Eir. Norgan revives the classic loop from the first game’s Dark Arisen as the Relic Expedition Cycle: fight tough foes, gather relics, then have them appraised into stronger weapons and armor.
The expansion also adds 12 new dungeons called Lost Rites, set within the existing Dragon’s Dogma 2 world and stocked with rare gear once held by past Arisen. New hairstyles and tattoo options round out the character creator.
Ahead of the expansion, the base game gets a second free update in late August. It adds frequently requested features, including more save slots, an increase in weapon skill slots from four to six, and performance improvements.
Pre-order timing and the Norgan Fashion Set bonus
Pre-orders opened on PS5 in most regions during the broadcast and roll out to all countries in early July. Pre-ordering earns the Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire, whether you buy the bundle or the standalone expansion. Choosing the bundle also grants immediate access to the base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game.
| Edition | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Standalone expansion | USD 29.99 | Dark Arisen content for existing owners |
| Bundle | USD 49.99 | Base game plus Dark Arisen content |
Switch 2 players get the base game and Dark Arisen content together at launch, so the full experience is portable for the first time on that platform.
If you act on one thing today, it is Monster Hunter Stories 3, since both the Rudy DLC and the Royal Monsters challenges are already downloadable. Onimusha fans can lock in September 25 and try the demo now, while Arisen waiting on Norgan can secure the pre-order bonus ahead of the October 9 release.
