Step 1: Travel to Roslit Bay and walk to the UFO crash site. Interact with Glorp. You’ll see nonsense alien dialog rather than readable text; that interaction flags that you now need a Translator.
Step 2: With that first conversation done, head for Dr. Crookspine’s laboratory on the oil rig near Roslit Bay. This is the same lab where you craft Glimmerfin Boots.
On PC, you can also use the in‑game Fisch GPS feature to set a waypoint to Crookspine’s coordinates at -1915, 225, -530. Once you reach the lab, talk to Dr. Crookspine to formally start the Translator questline.

After studying the Gleebous sample, Crookspine gives you a blueprint for a Translator. You need three trash‑rarity items, all fished from different regions:

Step 2 (Device Display): Sail into the Ocean, away from coastlines and islands, and start fishing. Ignore normal fish and focus on any catch that shows a negative progress speed and trash rarity. The Device Display is the ocean‑only part.
