How to Finish The Stolen First-Jar Wine quest in Where Winds Meet

The Stolen First-Jar Wine is a short Wandering Tales side quest in Where Winds Meet that plays out inside the Dreamscape version of Blissful Retreat in Qinghe. You help Pei Niang recover a special wine for a banquet by tracking down two simple clues, then you walk away with Echo Jade, Qinghe Exploration points, character EXP, and Coins.

Quest start location and requirements

The quest takes place in the Dreamscape Blissful Retreat area of Qinghe. There are no special combat or level requirements; you only need access to this Dreamscape and basic traversal.

Step 1: Enter Dreamscape Blissful Retreat and head to the central tower-like pagoda in the area. Pei Niang stands in front of this structure.

Step 2: Talk to Pei Niang to start the Wandering Tales quest. He explains that the First-Jar Wine prepared for the banquet has gone missing and that he needs help gathering what he needs.

Collect the tuft of yellow fur

After the initial conversation, your first task is to investigate a clue near the pagoda.

Step 1: From Pei Niang’s position facing the pagoda, move to the east side of the tower. Look for a tree very close to the structure.

Step 2: Examine the tree to find a tuft of yellow fur stuck to it. Interact with the prompt to pick it up and update the quest. This confirms that monkeys are involved in the theft.

Find the stolen First-Jar Wine

With the fur collected, the next objective is to retrieve the missing wine itself, which the monkeys have carried off.

Step 1: Climb the pagoda tower next to Pei Niang. Use your standard climbing and jumping tools to scale the structure, moving up from ledge to ledge.

Step 2: Reach the top platform or upper section of the pagoda. Here you will see three sleeping monkeys gathered around the stolen First-Jar Wine.

Step 3: Approach the jar and interact with it to pick up the First-Jar Wine. This completes the recovery objective.

Note: In some cases, players have also found the wine jar near a nearby waterfall at the Flower Expanse location above the falls, still surrounded by monkeys. If the jar is not on the tower, check that cliff area around the waterfall for the same group of monkeys and the wine.

Return to Pei Niang and finish the quest

Once you have both the yellow fur and the wine jar, you can wrap up the Wandering Tales quickly.

Step 1: Go back down to the base of the pagoda and talk to Pei Niang again.

Step 2: Hand over the tuft of yellow fur and the First-Jar Wine when prompted. This triggers a short dialogue about a legend in which mountain monkeys imitate humans and brew wine that can surpass human-made brews, and Pei Niang notes there is something mystical mixed into this batch as he prepares for the banquet.

Step 3: After the dialogue ends, the quest completes, and rewards are granted automatically.

The Stolen First-Jar Wine quest rewards

Reward Amount Usage
Echo Jade 40 Core currency for progression and systems that use Echo Jade.
Qinghe Exploration 10 Contributes to exploration progress in the Qinghe region.
Character EXP 5000 Direct experience toward your character level.
Coin 5000 General spending currency for vendors and upgrades.

All of these rewards are granted for completing the Wandering Tales in a single run; there are no branching outcomes or alternative endings to change the payout.

The Stolen First-Jar Wine is one of the quicker Wandering Tales in Blissful Retreat, and it mainly exists to nudge you into climbing the area’s central architecture and noticing the monkey behavior. It is worth clearing as soon as you enter the Dreamscape so you can collect the Echo Jade and Qinghe Exploration points while you are already moving through the region.
