Anime Overload is a tower defense game on Roblox that pulls characters from well-known anime franchises and drops them into wave-based combat. You get six Hero slots per run, multiple currencies to juggle, a gacha system for both units and traits, and a handful of hidden vending machines scattered across the lobby. Getting a handle on all of that early saves you hours of wasted resources later.
Quick answer: Redeem every active code immediately, idle in the AFK Chamber for passive Crystals (roughly 5,000 per 10 hours), and prioritize rolling for Crimson Queen (Dominant) or Red Hair (Conqueror) as your first carry unit.

Active Codes for Free Rewards
Codes in Anime Overload are redeemed through the in-game code menu. They typically grant gems, gold, trait rerolls, or gacha spins. The following codes were confirmed working during the game's early-access launch window:
| Code | Notes |
|---|---|
HappyEarlyAccess | Launch reward |
Sorry4Delay | Compensation code |
OurBadWeWillDoOurBest | Compensation code |
EnjoyRelease! | Launch celebration |
Beyond codes, check the in-game News tab each time you open the game. It frequently contains claimable rewards — free gems, gold, or trait reroll tokens — that many players overlook entirely.
Vending Machine Locations
Vending machines are tucked away in the lobby and offer items you cannot get from the main shop. They are easy to miss because they are not marked on any map. Explore every corner of the hub area — behind buildings, inside alleys, and on rooftops. Finding all of them early gives you access to bonus consumables and materials that speed up progression significantly. The game does not tell you how many exist, so treat it like a scavenger hunt each time the lobby updates.

Building the Right Team Composition
Damage output is the single most important factor in clearing waves efficiently. A full lineup of six DPS heroes is entirely viable, especially in early and mid-game content. Strong DPS picks include Crimson Queen (Dominant), Bald Hero (Super Serious), Sosoke (MS), and Sokono (Domain).
That said, swapping one or two slots for support and farming heroes unlocks more consistent runs. Support heroes like Susono and Goju provide crowd control that keeps enemies grouped for your damage dealers, while a dedicated Farm hero like Eskanor generates extra in-match gold so you can upgrade towers faster during a run.
Every character in Anime Overload carries an elemental property. Some support heroes only buff units that share a specific element. Ener, for example, exclusively boosts heroes with the Light or Storm element. Pay attention to these synergies when building your squad — placing the wrong element next to a conditional buffer wastes a slot.

Best Units to Roll For
Units come from the in-game gacha system, and the strongest ones sit at the lowest drop rates. Expect to spend a significant number of gems before landing any of them.
| Unit | Role |
|---|---|
| Crimson Queen (Dominant) | Top-tier DPS |
| Red Hair (Conqueror) | Top-tier DPS |
| Bald Hero (Super Serious) | DPS |
| Susono | Support / Crowd Control |
| Streliana (True Maiden) | DPS |
Crimson Queen (Dominant) and Red Hair (Conqueror) are widely considered the two strongest heroes in the current meta. If you pull either one early, build your entire team around them.
Farming Gems and Crystals Efficiently
Gems and Crystals are the premium currencies that fuel gacha pulls, shop purchases, and trait rerolls. Running low on them is the biggest bottleneck for new players. Here are the most reliable ways to stock up:
AFK Chamber. This is the single easiest method. Join the AFK Chamber and leave the game running in the background. After roughly 10 hours of idle time, you will accumulate around 5,000 Crystals with zero effort. If you play on a device you can leave on overnight, this should be your default farming strategy.
Story Mode (Normal). Progressing through the main campaign rewards Crystals at each stage. The amounts are modest compared to other methods, but you need to clear these missions anyway to unlock later content.
Story Mode (Nightmare). Once you finish the normal campaign, replaying missions on Nightmare difficulty yields substantially more Crystals — roughly 200 to 300 per completed mission. This is where having strong DPS units pays off.
Raids. The Raid game mode is a separate queue that pits you against tougher enemies for larger Crystal payouts. Queue into these whenever your team is strong enough to clear them reliably.
Season Pass. Completing quests earns Season Pass XP, which unlocks tiered rewards including Crystals and gems. The free track is decent; the premium track roughly doubles the output.
Daily Rewards. Log in every day and tap the "Daily Rewards" button on the left side of the screen. It takes five seconds, and the cumulative value over a week is substantial.

Tokens and Additional Currency Sources
Tokens serve as a secondary premium currency used for specific shop items and upgrades. Many of the same methods that generate Crystals — AFK Chamber, Raids, Season Pass — also produce Tokens. Additional token sources are expected to be added in future updates, so the earning rate should improve over time.
A few other systems worth engaging with early:
Excavation. A mini-game that lets you dig for materials and occasional currency drops. It is not the most efficient source of gems, but the materials you find here feed into the evolution system.
Index. Filling out your unit Index by collecting different heroes grants milestone rewards. Even if you pull a unit you do not plan to use, registering it in the Index still pays off.
Expedition. Send idle heroes on timed Expeditions to passively earn resources while you play other content or go offline.
Guild. Joining a Guild unlocks guild-specific rewards and activities. Get into one as early as possible — even a small, casual guild provides meaningful bonus income.

Trait Rerolls and the Best Traits
Traits are bonus properties that attach to your units and modify their stats or abilities. They are obtained through the gacha system alongside units, and you can reroll them using Trait Reroll tokens. The rarest traits provide enormous damage multipliers, so landing one on your main carry hero is a game-changer.
| Trait | Drop Rate | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Overloaded | 0.1% | Massive damage bonus |
| Voidborn | 0.3% | Strong damage bonus |
| Radiant | 0.6% | Solid damage bonus |
Overloaded is the undisputed best trait in Anime Overload. At a 0.1% drop rate, pulling it requires patience and a healthy stockpile of reroll tokens. Voidborn and Radiant are excellent consolation prizes — equipping either one on a top-tier DPS unit like Crimson Queen will carry you through most content.
Redeeming codes is one of the fastest ways to get free trait reroll tokens early on. Use them on your strongest hero first rather than spreading them across your roster.
Evolution Materials
Evolving units requires specific materials that drop from Excavation, Nightmare Story missions, and Raids. Do not sell or discard evolution materials early in the game, even if you do not currently have a unit that needs them. Storage is not an issue, and you will regret trashing rare evo mats once you pull a unit that requires them.

Anime Overload is free to play on Roblox, with optional Robux purchases for cosmetic and progression items. The game is still in its early stages, so expect frequent updates, new units, and balance changes. Locking down your core team, stockpiling currencies through the AFK Chamber, and chasing Overloaded traits on your best heroes will put you well ahead of most players from day one.
