Leaving a guild in Where Winds Meet is done from the Guild menu, but the option is buried behind the Member Roster screen and an extra View button. The same area also holds the controls to disband a guild if you are the guild leader.
Leave a guild in Where Winds Meet (all platforms)
The Leave Guild option always lives in the Guild > Member Roster area, then inside the full member list. The table below shows the key actions on each platform.
| Platform | Where to go | How to confirm leave |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Guild > Member Roster > View full list. | Click Leave Guild button or hold V. |
| PS5 | Guild > Member list. | Open member list with R3, then hold △ on Leave Guild. |
| Other controllers | Guild > Member Roster > View full list. | Use the button shown beside Leave Guild at the bottom of the screen. |
Method 1 – Leave your current guild from Member Roster
Step 1: Open the main menu and enter the Guild screen. This Guild button sits in the pause menu and opens all guild-related options for your current character.
Step 2: Go to the Member Roster tab on the left side of the Guild screen. This tab shows a compact view of current members and is the starting point for accessing the full roster.
Step 3: Select the View option on the right side of the Member Roster screen. This expands the roster to a full member list, which also reveals extra actions such as leaving or disbanding the guild.
Step 4: Look at the bottom of the full member list for the Leave Guild option. On PC, this appears as a button in the lower-left corner and can also be activated by holding V; on console, use the button prompt shown next to Leave Guild.
Step 5: Confirm that you want to leave the guild when the game asks. After confirmation, you are removed from the guild immediately, and guild chat, buffs, and activities tied to that guild stop for your character.
Platform-specific notes (PC and PS5)
PC controls
Step 1: Open Guild from the pause menu, then click Member Roster. Using mouse or keyboard here does the same thing; the important part is reaching the roster tab.
Step 2: Click the View button on the far right of the roster. This button takes you to a detailed member screen and is required to expose the leave option.
Step 3: Use the Leave Guild control shown at the bottom. You can click the Leave Guild button directly or hold V as indicated on-screen to finalize leaving.
PS5 controls
Step 1: Enter the Guild menu and navigate to the member list. Use the d-pad or left stick to highlight the member list area.
Step 2: Press R3 (click the right stick) to bring up the detailed member list. This action opens the same full roster view that PC players see from the View button.
Step 3: Hold △ on the Leave Guild prompt shown on the member screen. Keep the button held until the confirmation completes and your character is removed from the guild.
Penalty after leaving a guild
Leaving a guild adds a temporary lockout before you can move to another group. The cooldown is short but strict, so it is worth knowing before you confirm.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Leave Guild | Immediately removes you from the current guild. |
| Cooldown duration | 6 hours real time. |
| During cooldown | You cannot join any guild or create a new guild. |
| After cooldown | You are free to apply to new guilds or start your own. |
Step 1: Before leaving, decide whether you need to join another guild immediately. If you are in the middle of guild events or planning to move to a different group right away, remember that the six-hour period will block both joining and creating a guild.
Step 2: If the cooldown is acceptable, proceed with the Leave Guild action. Once you confirm, the timer starts right away, so you can continue questing or exploring while you wait.
Disband a guild you created (PC leader controls)
Guild leaders can fully disband their guild instead of leaving it, which deletes the guild rather than passing leadership. This option is also found inside the full member roster view.
Step 1: Open the Guild menu and go to the Member Roster tab. As with leaving, the disband option only appears after you step into the detailed member management area.
Step 2: Click an empty member slot in the roster. Selecting a vacant spot opens an extra management menu at the top of the screen with guild-level options.
Step 3: Switch to the guild members section in that menu. This focuses the controls on guild-wide actions such as disbanding rather than on individual players.
Step 4: Hold the disband control shown at the bottom, typically V on PC. Keep the key held until the game completes the disband process, which removes the guild entirely.
Step 5: Keep in mind that disbanding also subjects you to the six-hour restriction. After disbanding your guild, you must still wait six hours before joining or creating another guild.

Create a new guild after leaving
After the six-hour cooldown ends, you can either join another guild or form your own once your character has progressed far enough. Guild creation itself also lives in the same Guild menu.
Step 1: Reach at least level 20 on your character. The guild system unlocks at this point, so guild-related options such as creation become available in the Guild screen.
Step 2: Open the Guild menu from the pause screen once the cooldown has expired. The page shows a list of guilds you can apply to and also includes the option for starting a new one.
Step 3: Use the Create Guild button located in the upper-left of the Guild screen. This opens the setup interface where you define your new guild’s identity.
Step 4: Enter your guild name, choose its type, and select a banner. Types usually reflect your focus, such as combat, exploration, or a more relaxed group for side activities, so pick the style that matches how you want members to play together.
Step 5: Pay the required 300 Jade coins to confirm creation. Once the payment goes through, the game establishes your new guild and assigns you as the guild leader with access to management tools and rank permissions.
Using the Guild menu’s Member Roster and View options makes it straightforward to leave or disband a guild, and once the short six-hour cooldown passes you can jump straight into a new community or build one of your own.
