Battlefield 6 ships with crossplay enabled. You can switch it off from the main menu in a few taps:

  1. Open the game’s Settings from the main menu.
  2. Go to the System section.
  3. At the top, set Cross-Play to Off.

Note: You can’t change this while you’re in a party, during matchmaking, or after joining a server. Back all the way out to the main menu first.

Battlefield 6 crossplay options and matchmaking behavior

Setting Who you match with Notes
Cross-Play: On (default) All supported platforms Uses console‑preferred matchmaking: on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S the game tries to place you with other console players first, then expands to include PC only if needed.
Cross-Play: Off Your platform only PS5 with PS5, Xbox Series X/S with Xbox Series X/S, and PC with PC (including Steam, Epic Games, and EA App).

Play with friends on other platforms

With crossplay on, you can squad up across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Make sure the profiles you’re using are connected to the same EA account ecosystem so you can find each other easily. If you need to check or link accounts, sign in to your EA account at myaccount.ea.com.

Turning crossplay off isolates you to your own platform, which also prevents joining parties with friends on other systems until you re‑enable it.

If you prefer controller‑only lobbies or want to avoid keyboard and mouse, switching crossplay off guarantees same‑platform matches. Leaving it on keeps queues faster, with console‑preferred matchmaking helping group PS5 and Xbox players together before expanding to PC when required.
