Marvel Rivals’ First Anniversary Event: Every Mission and Reward

Marvel Rivals is marking its first birthday with Rivals’ Day 2025, a multi-part anniversary event that runs from November 27 to December 17, 2025. The celebrations live on a special Times Square-themed hub hosted by Galacta and bundle together several sub-events, currencies, and one-time cosmetic rewards.

The structure is simple: log in, play matches, and bring friends. In return, you earn limited-time Units, a free Jeff the Land Shark skin, and a long list of cosmetics themed around “office life” and dessert-style outfits.

Event duration and structure

The first anniversary celebration is framed in-game as “Rivals’ Day 2025,” a special event during Season 5.0: Love is a Battlefield. It runs from November 27, 2025 to December 17, 2025, and is built around a dedicated Times Square event home.

From this hub, you can jump into five key components:

  • Log In To Claim (daily limited-time Units)
  • Rivals Assemble! (friend-invite missions for extra Units and an emote)
  • Jeff’s Break Time (event pass and vending machine skin/cosmetics)
  • Times Square Countdown / Rivals’ Day live event
  • Van Dyne’s: Grand Opening (later-phase vending machine event)

Daily login rewards: 1,500 limited-time Units

The simplest piece of the anniversary is the login track. Sign in on seven separate days during the event to receive a total of 1,500 Units. These Units are marked as limited-time and disappear when the event ends on December 17–18, so they need to be spent before then.

Login day Reward Running total
Day 1 200 Units (limited-time) 200 Units
Day 2 200 Units 400 Units
Day 3 200 Units 600 Units
Day 4 200 Units 800 Units
Day 5 200 Units 1,000 Units
Day 6 200 Units 1,200 Units
Day 7 300 Units 1,500 Units

These Units count as premium currency and are enough to buy at least an epic-tier costume from the regular store if combined with your existing balance.

Rivals Assemble! missions and 600 extra Units

Rivals Assemble! is the social arm of the event. It sits on the Times Square hub as its own tab and revolves around assembling a small “crew” of other players and progressing a shared reward track.

How Rivals Assemble! works

  • On the event page, tap one of the plus icons to open a crew slot.
  • Enter a friend’s crew code (shown on the same page for each player).
  • Send an invite; when they follow you, they become part of your crew.
  • Up to 5 teammates can be part of a crew at once.
  • All crew members complete light missions (damage dealt, logging in, etc.) to generate Assemble Points for one another.

Important detail: you do not have to queue into the same games for points to count. Missions progress as long as players are in each other’s crew.

Rivals Assemble! rewards and thresholds

The Rivals Assemble! track pays out both Units and a universal emote. To fully clear the track, you need 2,000 Assemble Points, which covers the emote and all 600 Units.

Assemble Points threshold Reward Units from threshold
200 Points Units 200 Units
300 Points Units 100 Units
400 Points Units 100 Units
500 Points Units 100 Units
600 Points Units 100 Units
Higher thresholds Bright Future universal emote and remaining cosmetic milestones

The Unit payouts for the early thresholds total 600. The event runs in parallel with Rivals’ Day and ends around December 18.

Jeff’s Break Time event pass and vending machine rewards

Jeff’s Break Time is the centerpiece of the anniversary. It is an event pass presented as a snack vending machine, themed around Jeff the Land Shark’s office job. Every reward is a “snack” you pull from the machine using event-only currencies, and the order is randomized per player.

Snack Silver, Gourmet Gold, and how to earn them

Jeff’s Break Time uses two currencies:

  • Snack Silver – used on the free (Standard) reward path.
  • Gourmet Gold – used on the premium (Members Only) reward path.

You can get these currencies in two ways:

  • By playing matches in Quick Match, Competitive, Arcade, or Practice vs AI.
  • By converting Units at a flat rate of 300 Units for one Snack Silver or one Gourmet Gold.

Spending either currency pulls one item out of the vending machine. Once you’ve bought every snack in a batch, the machine refreshes with the next batch of prizes.

Together, the two batches turn Jeff’s “Business Shark” into a modular costume where you can swap suit, glasses, tie, and tail variants, while Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic pick up their own themed outfits and cosmetics.

How to unlock the free Jeff “Business Shark” skin

Jeff’s legendary Business Shark costume is the main free skin of the anniversary. It sits on the free path within Jeff’s Break Time.

To unlock it:

  • Play matches in eligible modes to earn event XP and V-Tokens.
  • Use those V-Tokens (or converted Snack Silver) on the Standard vending machine.
  • Keep buying snacks until the Business Shark costume drops from Batch 1.

No premium purchase is required to receive the costume itself, but fully exploring all Business Shark style parts later in Batch 2 will take more pulls.

Rivals’ Day Times Square countdown and live reward

The Times Square hub also hosts a Rivals’ Day countdown. Joining that event, either live or within the 72-hour window after it ends, grants a title and more Units:

  • Rivals’ Day 2025 Title (epic rarity)
  • 200 Units

The Rivals’ Day celebration itself is framed as an in-hub gathering, rather than a match mode. You just need to log in during the reward window and visit the event page to claim the title and currency.

Van Dyne’s: Grand Opening and future phases

Later in the schedule, a separate vending machine-style event, Van Dyne’s: Grand Opening, goes live. It launches on December 4, 2025, and offers a small pool of six rewards acquired in random order, capped by Psylocke’s Daring Daifuku costume.

The total Unit cost to clear that track is stated to be no more than 2,400 Units. Structurally, it mirrors Jeff’s Break Time: you spend an event currency (purchased with Units) to pull each reward from the machine until you’ve emptied it.

Total free Units and what they add up to

Across all first-anniversary activities, the game hands out a sizeable stack of premium currency without requiring direct purchases.

Source Free Units Notes
Daily login track 1,500 Units Limited-time Units; expire at event end
Rivals Assemble! thresholds 600 Units Earned via crew missions
Rivals’ Day Times Square reward 200 Units Claimable up to 72 hours after countdown
Additional December 4 drop 400 Units Arrives as part of later-phase anniversary rewards
Total free Units during event 2,700 Units Mix of limited-time and regular Units

Not every breakdown lists the December 4 drop identically; the core you can reliably plan around is 1,500 Units from logins, 600 from Rivals Assemble!, and 200 from Rivals’ Day, for 2,300 Units. The extra 400 Units on December 4 come in as a bonus phase.

Other Season 5 content tied to the anniversary

The anniversary overlaps heavily with Season 5.0’s broader content, much of which is rolled into the same patch window:

  • Times Square social hub – a non-combat lobby where up to 100 players can gather, show off skins, and emote between matches.
  • 18v18 Conquest (Annihilation) mode – 36-player (18 vs 18) objective matches on the new Grand Garden map.
  • Venom “Gummy Surprise” and Blade “Restful Recovery” skins – anniversary-themed store costumes available for about a month, from November 28 to December 26 (times in UTC).

These pieces aren’t strictly tied to the Rivals’ Day reward tracks, but they’re part of the same celebration patch and share the dessert/relaxation aesthetic seen in the Invisible Woman, Venom, and Blade skins.

The net effect of Rivals’ Day 2025 is a relatively straightforward grind: log in for a week, play a healthy number of matches across your usual modes, and bring a few friends into your crew. If you keep up with those basics through mid-December, you walk away with thousands of Units, a fully customizable Jeff Business Shark skin, two Fantastic Four-themed costumes, an Invisible Woman dessert skin, and a spread of emojis, nameplates, and titles that mark Marvel Rivals’ first year.
